How To Hide Listviewitem In Listview Control

I have a listview control on a form. This listview control is populated with at times thousands of listviewitems.Part of my process, is running through custom made filters, to hide unwanted items (before they're even inserted into the listview).So as I hinted earlier, the way I hide items that I don't want is by not inserting them at all. I'd like to make a shortcut available, that would allow me to show / hide the hidden items by simply pressing the shortcut.
My problem is that if I do this, I have to 'refresh' the listview items everytime as I do now ( by removing all and re-inserting the ones I want ).Is there no faster / better way than by removing / re-inserting the items ( which takes roughly 2-3 seconds ); which is a noticeable-enough delay? for a 'visible' property on the listviewitem that I could set to true / false, but that property doesn't appear to exist.As it stands, I have to resort to removing / re-inserting the new 'view' every time.

I have a node that is called AutoEnabled. If this is true the check state of the listviewitem needs to be checked.

I'm trying to use a custom listviewitem class that attaches additional information to a lisview item. Here is the class:

When I try to cast a listviewitem to my custom class like this:

I get the following error, "Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.ListViewItem' to type 'AudioMatic.albumListViewItem'."

I have seven columns in a table Customer (custId, Date, AccountCode, Description, Quantity, Price, Amount)Also i have seven textboxes on the form from where data is transferred to the Listview. Listview has all seven columns from where data is to be transferred to the seven columns of Table Customer.I want that data should be transferred to all the seven columns of LIstview but Listview should display only last four columns and hide first three columns to display. I have a listview in details mode with multiple columns. I want to be able to temporarily hide entries. I know the old Listview.Items(x).hide = true doesn't exist (from research).I'm wondering if there's a way to create a temporary list of every item NOT to display, remove them from the listview, then when I want them back, just re add them from the list

I inherit from ListView. I want my control to have an AllowCheckBoxes property rather than a CheckBoxes property.
Listview.Checkboxes is not overridable.
Can I add attributes to Listview.Checkboxes? Maybe the following?

I have a listview that is populated with data. When I select a row the data is added to my textboxes for viewing editing etc. I want the row to stay focused while I am editing a textbox. I have set the property Hide selection to false for my list view but I still lose focus of the row.

I have 3 forms, one frmMain - main form, second is frmUserType- childform, and the last frmCreateUserType. In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008

I'm using ListView control, with SmallIcons style in VB.NET. Icons are loaded fine, but when I start to scroll ListView down or up from scrollbar (clicking from arrows), rowheight drops to about half from normal in next 20-30 rows below/above upper/bottom row (depends from the scrolling position). After 1-2 seconds, ListView is "refreshed" and scrolling continues normally. When focus in on the ListView and I'm moving up/down with arrow keys or PageUp/PageDown, everything is normal. Any suggestions, what is happening? SmallIcons size is 16 * 16. Is it compulsory to set "Blank icon" with SmallIcon size to all rows, when adding them or what? Wasn't like that in VB6, how is it in VB.NET?

Lets say the table has 3 columns (a,b,c) and 1 row of data.

I want the user to be able to re-arrange the columns (by dragging the column headers) before printing the contents of the table.

Give the column-name (c) and cell-contents (3) of the origional table .. not the (3rd) column (b) of the re-arranged table.

I have a setup/configuration utility that I am making. The form is split the left side has a nodeview that allows the user to select what they want to setup/configure, and the right side displays that screen.

I need to change which pages of a tab control are available at different times. Right now I'm just disabling the unwanted tabs (TabControl1.TabPages(x).Enabled = False), but I've got a user who can't comprehend why she can still view the tab page if she can't use it.
So I need to either hide the tabs altogether or disable them such that you can't switch to that tab page at all.
