How To Make Use Of Two Loop Statements For One Do

Jan 5, 2010

I need an additional loop argument within an If statement that resides in a very large do...loop block. It will speed the application considerably if I can have the do...loop block loop prematurely. I already have the remaining code after the additional loop argument in a large if...elseif block to achieve the result, but making it simply loop instead of going through this would speed the application.

How To Make A Statement Run If All Conditions Are True From Multiple Condition Or If Statements

Mar 22, 2011

I have a form that contains multiple conditional or if statements on several defferent for controls.

Example: Radio Buttons, TextBoxes and CheckBoxes.

I am intending to create an order form(demo) where the user can select multiple products.

I have a default order number that changes by one everytime an order is successful.

An order is only successful if all the information on the form is entered correctly.

My question is where do I insert the code for the order number?

Basically for the order number I have a counter that count by increment of one if an order is successful.

Meaning when the user hit place order, and all the infromation is right, then the order numer goes to 1 from zero.

Where do I add the condition for the order number since all the fields must first be completed.

Do I have to create a whole line of if else statements?

I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 with VB.NET, and in class we were assigned this project: A procedure should calculate a 2% price increase on all red shirts, but a 1% price increase on all other items. In addition to calculating the price increase, the procedure also should calculate the new price. You can use the variables strItemColr, strItem, decOrigPrice, decIncrease, and decNewPrice. Format the original price, price increase, and new price in the lblOriginal, lblIncrease, and lblNewPrice controls, respectively.

Using Multiplication In If And Then Statements?

I am very new VB .NET and just starting If statements. My problem is: Write an If statement that determines whether the variable CurrentBalance is greater then 1000.01. If it is, multiply the variable CurrentBalance by 1.005. Otherwise, multiply CurrentBalance by 1.007.So far I have

Sub Main()
Dim currentBalance As Boolean
System.Console.WriteLine("Enter Current Balance: " & currentBalance)
If CDbl(currentBalance) > 1000.01 Then

[code].....

I really don't even know if thats how I should be starting. Not sure what to put after the first Then on how to make it multiply currentBalance by 100.5.

2 SQL Statements The Same? Will They Produce The Same Results?

Are the following 2 SQL statements the same? Will they produce the same results?

sql1 = "SELECT * FROM [StudentDetials] WHERE ([Subject1] LIKE '" & Subject(0) & "' OR [Subject2] LIKE '" & Subject(0) & "') AND ([Day1] LIKE '" & TabDay & "' OR [Day2] LIKE '" & TabDay & "') AND ([Time1] >= '" & Time(0) & "' AND [ETime1] <= '" & Time(1) & "' OR [Time2] >= '" & Time(0) & "' AND [ETime2] <= '" & Time(1) & "')"

sql1 = "SELECT * FROM [StudentDetials] WHERE ([Subject1] LIKE '" & Subject(0) & "' AND [Day1] LIKE '" & TabDay & "' AND [Time1] >= '" & Time(0) & "' AND [ETime1] <= '" & Time(1) & "') OR ([Subject2] LIKE '" & Subject(0) & "' AND [Day2] LIKE '" & TabDay & "' AND [Time2] >= '" & Time(0) & "' AND [ETime2] <= '" & Time(1) & "')"

In my case they simply produce the same results but that's because of the data i'm using.

Build If Then Statements At Run Time?

Sep 15, 2010

My product owner has asked me to make some comparision logic configurable so the process engineers can change things without making code changes. Currently the code is a SELECT CASE statement with various IF THEN statements that are fairly standard.

The problem I can't seem to find a way around is that he wants through configuration to AND/OR a variable number of comparisons in the IF THEN statements. His idea is the that the configuration would work like a limited query builder for the process engineers. The only solution I've come up with is to build a function in a string and use the VBCodeProvider to compile it at runtime. Is there a better way to approach this?
