I am working with a list of points. It is declared as a global in my form.[code]the only issue is that instead of New Point(100,100) i need to be able to navigate to the previous 4 records in the list. pull out the 4 x vals the 4 y vals and boom there you go. In the old days id make a simple loop and get r done but im not sure the syntax to step through the list that way.

I need to determine the ranking of the List items specified by one specific property of the items.
I have the following Class:
Public Class LevelA
Property items as New List(Of LevelB)

Property factor as Double
ReadOnly Property rank as Integer

For example, let's say I have three items in the List. I have set the factor property for the first item as 5.50, the second item as 6.60 and the third item as 3.30.Now I should be able to get the rank property of each item (the highest value should be ranked as 1). Here the first item in the list should have the rank as 2, the second item as 1 and the third item as 3.
What kind of procedure is needed for the "ReadOnly Property rank as Integer" for returning such values? It should somehow be able to access the list in the parent class probably?
By the EnumChildWindows API I can know the Hwnd of the ListBox control of an external application. By the Hwnd I can too to select "generically" the control by a PostMessage API, also if the application is not the foreground window.
Now the question is: is there way, in your opinion, to select a specific item of this external list box, also when the application is not the foreground window?
I have a list of "ObjDay" which could have replicated items. How can I select them?

I'm having a problem recently, a logical issue so hard to determine various examples.I need the text that is inserted in textbox, which has been altered or modified or twisted to have a proper format through line accordance and constant white spaces etc. And some cases I stuck at defining the If statement within the loop. Now, i am designing the purchase/sales screens. I am showing the items name, qty, price in a datagrid. From the products table, I am able to select the 'ProductName' by giving it a combobox . I want the ProductSellingPrice also to appear in the next column of the grid.

The Locate String is there because thats the location where the iso files are but the application is in the root of the drive. The ListBox1 command is fairly easy to understand

I've experimented with GetType and TypeOf but have not managed to get anything working.
To clarify, I want to keep this generic. I do not want to specify the type of T, I need to loop the list items and call the ToString method on each item. T could be one of a number of different types (application specific reference types). Is it possible to do this without specifying types?

This program is supposed to allow the user to check items in a checked list box. If the item is checked, it goes into the Completed List Box on the right. The program then adds the unchecked items to the Pending list box on the left. I keep getting placement values (e.g. O,1,2) instead of the strings (e.g. "Key Returned") in the list box results (see photo attached)

Another program I am working on for fun, I am basically shuffling a list inside a listbox, what I want to do is delete the rest but not sure how to go through with that. At the moment I have this: [code] Just contains the code, declarations outside weren't included.So anyway, once clicked, it will call on the function to basically shuffle in a for loop, I was wondering if I should (or how should) create another function and call it in the click button or have just a loop in the click button so it deletes half the list. What I am doing is I have 20 list of items, I want the program to shuffle the items and then deleting the lower 10, meaning, if I had 10 items and wanted 5 top, I'd want: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and deleting 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

The problem ixs that I cannot associate a particular set of options with a particular line item - I can't distinguish Item num="0" from Item num="1" and so forth, because the element 'Item' presents itself as a table withing the dataset, and the element 'Option' also presents itself as a table within the dataset. I am making a program which remembers my last selected row in a data table. I have done this by adding a column with a CheckBox, upon CellClick the CheckBox is checked, and upon ellLeave it is unchecked and the new cell is checked, after every action a Update command is run. There will never be more than one row with a checked cell in the DataGridView,however, the data table is in a relationship with other tables, so there may be more checked cells in the data table itself. My problem now is selecting the row with that cell when I open the program and when changing between other data tables and back again.All solutions I found on selecting a specific cell in a DataGridView are referring to index numbers, and in my case I need it to find a data value in a column, I do not know the specific row, only that one row contains the value of True while everything else is False.

I have this list view (which is working fine) and i want to find an efficient way of populating it in a specific order, ie by date, by identity etc.
I know i can use linq but as i understand this is inefficient. If m_batchs is a large list of objects then i will looping through this list many, many time (as linq behind the scenes loops through the object collection).
How can I add all the items of a specific column of a listview. For example I had a listview of a class like:
