im trying to select a specific bit of data from a table in access using sql in vb.net. My select statement so far is sql = "select [UserAccessLevel] from Member where username = '" & tusername & "'"Useraccesslevel and username being columns in the table and tusername being a variable that stores the username im using to look up the useraccesslevel in the table.
Was wondering if any of you knew anything about select statements.

How to select one cell and mulitple cells in a table using the webbrowser control. E.g. If the web page (local) that I'm viewing in the webbrowser control has tables present in it. When I click on a cell in the table I want to be able to edit the attributes of the cell like adding an align or a class attribute. I think this is possible without using mshtml which I'm trying to avoid as I can't find much user friendly documentation on it.
The text in the webbrowsercontrol is loaded with the foll:
WebBrowser1.DocumentText = Form1.RichTextBox1.Text
So I am guessing that I need to be able to detect when a cell is selected (<td></td> tag etc) or clicked on and then from that point I can edit the attributes of that specific cell (<td class="jimmy"></td> tag etc).

I have to pull out particular fields from cells in an HTML table. Using Firebug I was able to get the exact XPath to the cells I need (unfortunately, the cells don't have an id tag). I thought I could use DocumentNode.SelectSingleNode and pass in that path, but it doesn't seem to be working right. What am I doing wrong? Or is there a better approach to this than how I am doing it? Unfortunately, I have no experience with XPath so this is turning out harder than I expected it to be. I wonder if it is possible to find a specific row and specific columns in data base file (Access) . You see , I am using a DataGridView control to show only SOME of the columns (fields) of a table from an Access file . For example , lets say that in the DataGridView control I only show the following fields :Field1 , Field2 and Field3 .Now , when the user selects an entry in the DataGridView control , I want to insert the text from Field4 into a text box on the form .
The problem , however , is that I don't know how to get the specific row in the data base file and also I don't know how to get the text in column (field) Field4 of that row .One thing that might be important is that the index of the row in the data base file is not necessarily the same with the index of the current row in the DataGridView control . This is because in the DataGridView control the rows are order by the contents in the ID Field .ol .

I have a Form1 that is the main application form, that display certain data from a database. Then I have Form2 that add/delete data from a specific table in the database.My problem is, When I add data to the database, and save it, it work fine, But, it does not reflect on the main form, after I close Form2. Only when I exit the application, and open it again, it shows. Is there a setting or something I need to do to update/refresh the info added so I do not need to restart the application?

I have a datasource linked to a table in a database.When I wnated to display this data on a form, I just dragged the datasource onto the form and it did everything for me, including the code to fill it;
Me.ProjectFileTableAdapter.Fill(Me.ProjectFileDataSet.ProjectFile)
My problem, is that this program will have multiple users, and I don't other users to be able to see each others data. So the problem with the above statement is that it fills the table with ALL the data in the datasource. I want to connect to Sage Data, to the stock table, and select certain columns such as SKU, title, description, sales price and then select the rows I want and send these to an excel spreadsheet formatted in the style required for upload as product feeds to google shopping, shopzilla, amazon and Ebay etc.Each feed is formatted differently and I have to create these manually all the time so I want to try and automate the process. We would have much better control of our ecommerce if I could do this quickly with custom program.
So far I have managed, after a lot of disappointments, to connect to the sage data through the sage ODBC and populate a datagridview. I've only got this far by luck, with many errors due to me and system and software problems. I thought this would be relatively easy as I once used an app to create a word document programmatically with a very thorough guide, it's not looking so easy now. I have also added a check box column to the datagridview for selecting rows and thats as far as I have got.I was thinking perhaps of passing the selected data to an array and then creating and populating the spreadsheet.how to get selected rows from DGV.

I am using VB 2008 Express to connect to an Access 2007 database. I have a combo box that is populated by the database. When I used the Access report VBA, I used the AfterUpdate() event to calculate a sum and place the results in a text box. I need to know how to do the same operation in VB 2008 Express using the SelectedIndexChanged event of the combo box.
The combo box is called "cboYearMonth" and is populated by my database, this is working correctly.
The text box that I want the calculated results to appear in is called "ExactPagesTextbox"
I have a query in Access called "JobTypeExact_Query" that contains all the pages that I need. What I need to do is calculate the total number of "Pages" limited to the YEARMONTH selected in the combo box. YEARMONTH is a value in every record in this query.

I have an access database that has columns where the data is a tickbox, i would like to select all the ticks from one row. Erm i'll try and be more descriptive: The database has the family of aircraft in the first column and then each subsequent column is to do with a calculation and i want to assign boolean variables the value of true if the tick box is checked and false if it isnt. How can i assign the values of the tick box to a variable?

how can I access SQL data from VB? I am working on a purchased application with a bunch of 3rd party VB controls. What I would like to accomplish is to validate certain controls for user entry and I have one 3rd party control that has a table grid in it displaying SQL data and was wondering if it's possible to validate that SQL table data. And to complicate things, the 3rd party control is located in a different form altogether from the form where I need to insert my validation button.

I'm confused about DataSources and DataSets.I created a DataSource (DataSet?) via the DataSource wizard called PPIDataSet. This has tables in it Customer, Vendor, Orders, etc.Now I want to access the data in these tables via code. So I'm expecting to be able to do PPIDataSet.Customer.AddRow or something like that. However, when I access the PPIDataSet object, in IntelliSense,I only get PPIDataSet.CustomerDataTable PPIDataSet.CustomerRow
How do I access the table data via the DataSet? Or do I have to access it some other way?

I have already binded a data source from Access to my visual basic program but need to add a True/False column to two of the tables. I could do this manually in access and re-bind the sources but that would take up too much of my time so I wanted to know if I'm using the proper code to add a column to the data table directly from VB? Here is the code I want to try but I don't know where to place it?
