I'm having trouble to add Data to a Ms Access 2007 from a Text Box. This is the coed I'm using at the present time.
Private Sub btnNext_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnNext.Click
If (IsNumeric(txtOrderEntry.Text)) Then
DesignForm.Show()
ElseIf txtOrderEntry.Text = "" Then
I have created a form wherein there is a text box , and a button,the text box is binded to a access database table and field , i want to add the data of text box to the field using the button.
i don't want to use conventional binding navigator
I will start off here by asking the question. How do I make the data from a database be bound to my project? I keep trying to add a new data source so that I can drag and drop things to my form, but I am unable to. I follow the steps, choosing an OLE DB, the file's location (D:Data Connected Applicationsfile name) The conecting string looks like: Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source="D:Data Connected ApplicationsItem_Database_A.accdb". I choose the objects that I want (In this case, the entire tables option) and then it returns a message to me stating that: An error occurred while creating the new data source: Could not get information for 'WindowsApplication1.Item_Database_A.accdbDataSet3'
I am trying to learn how I can enter data into a Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 TextBox on a form and when I Tab to the next TextBox, the data from the first TextBox is automatically appended to a Microsoft Access 2007 table. For this question, no other controls or objects are necessary.
I have built an Access 2007 database with some data stored in it. I have managed to export data using VB2008 from that database to Excel 2007 and have it automatically draw charts based on this data and a query in the Visual Basic Code. One of the results looks like this:
I have already binded a data source from Access to my visual basic program but need to add a True/False column to two of the tables. I could do this manually in access and re-bind the sources but that would take up too much of my time so I wanted to know if I'm using the proper code to add a column to the data table directly from VB? Here is the code I want to try but I don't know where to place it?
I'm not sure what goes into the "something" parenthesis and where this code must go. I already tried editting through the data designer but although it shows the column in the DataGridView, it does not save any data or the column into the actual access file.
I m getting a syntax error (oledbexception was unhandled, Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement.) while trying to add a new record to my access table. This is the
[code]...
Everything runs smoothly up untill this line daadmin.Update(dsadmin, "AdminLogin")I dont see what im doing wrong, the database name is booking.mdb and the table name is AdminLogin
I have a form with textbox controls that are bound to the database. I have a bindingnavigator within the form, when i use the save & delete buttons on the bindingnavigator toolbar they seem to work but when i check my db nothing has changed. I have tried to work around this problem by updating the saveitem code using the code below.[code]
It seems that i cant update my table in access 2007. Here is my code.
Try con = new oledb.oledbConnection("Provider = Microsof.ACE.OLEDB.12.0"; data source = |DAtaDirectory|Attendance.accdb; Persist Security Info = False;") con.Open()
[CODE]...
--I dont received an error message when i run the codes i even dont receive an exception message. but when i check my database the record was not added.
I am not able to add records in an Access 2007 database using VB 2010 Express Edition. I have read other posts and followed them but still I am not sucessful. I have the connection to the access database as MS Access Database, therefore it has the OLEDB connection (not the Jet 4.0). I am using the project instance in binding the text boxes to the fieldnames in the Access database. Did I miss something? I am also using Windows Vista Ultimate.
I am trying to create a combo box the fill with the list of names from an Access Database Column, and I have read numerous forums trying to discern what to do but the stumbling block is when I try to copy their code, changing variable names to mine, etc I hit stumbling block when they ask for things like New SqlCommand(sSQL, myConnection) and my VB IDE doesnt come up recognising the sqlcommand when I start typing it in when it tries to autocomplete what I am typing. I have added the database & tables into the DataSources area to right of the IDE (as per attached pic
[code] When insCommand.ExecuteNonQuery is executed, an exception with Error # -2147217900 is thrown, with the detail of "In order to evaluate an indexed property, the property must be qualified and the arguments must be explicitly supplied by the user." At the time the error is thrown, this is what resides in strInsert: "Insert Into ScoutInfo (ScoutID, YearID, GSUSAID, FName, LName, DoB, Grade, Level, School, YearsIn, CurrentYear) Values (10000, 20092010, 123456, 'Jacobina', 'Lowe', '11/30/2009', 'K', 'Daisy', 'Thisone', 0, '20092010')" I've already verified that the Insert statement and datatypes of the columns match.
I am trying to display the contents of a table from an Access 2007 Database inside a List-view Box.I am using a Combo Box to select the user I wish to see the details about:
Private Sub Admin_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load ReadUsers()
Whilst writing a routine in Access I founf it rather fiddly for user...was thinking it would be much better for them to click a button in VB.net and that would do all the hard work.
So is it possible to do these task against a Acecss 2007 database
-Delete table -Compact database (to clear out table) -then run query to remake table
I have a table called MEMBER with fields for mem_id, mem_name, mem_addr, mem_city,mem_state, mem_zip and another table called STATE with state_id, state_addr, state_name in Access 2007.On the Visual Studio 2008 form, there is a combo box for the state. The goal here is to display the state abbreviations, but use the state_id value for the mem_state (there is a foreign key between those two fields).The mem_state is defined as number, the state_id is autonumber. Under the mem_state definition in Access, I used the lookup wizard (on the database that is in the bin/debug folder) to set the following properties:
Display Control - combo box, Row Source Type - Table/Query, Row Source - SELECT [State].[state_id], [State].[state_abbr] FROM State ORDER BY
i have create a software for my college which is document management. well am doing good so far up to now where i need to upgrade my database what i mean ?
in case i need to make any changes to my database i don't want to enter the database and create new table or add new fields to existing table to my current database,i would like to do that throught visual studio 2010 programaticaly. something like an additional application where i will choose my database path and the application will upgrade the database with new tables or new fields .
i would like also to ask, in order to create database,or if you already have the database and you like to just open the connection to it programaticaly and add new field ,or relate some table ,you have to work with different librarys? Like ADOX,DAO etc ? and other.?
I've create a new VS 2008 Window Form Project using VB. I added an oleDbDataAdapter to the first and only form, set it to a table in my Access 2007 Database (there is only one table, PK field autonum of course and two Memo fields). The Database is in the Project's folder. A standard oleDb Connection object was created, as I expected, then I select the DataAdapter and choose 'Generate Dataset' which produces a standard DataSet called 'DataSet1.xsd'. Now when I build the project I get an error 'Error 1 Type 'FontTest.DataSet1' is not defined.' I do have a reference in my new Project to System.Data.So what the @#%$@ is going on? Why isn't the Dataset create by the DataAdapter being recongized? I can get into the DataSet Designer. The DataTable create is perfect, three columns defined correctly as I expected.
- VS 2008 - Sharepoint 3.0 - Access 2007 - Windows Vista (The machine I'm developing it from)
History: (Do excuse me if I don't reference different methods I've taken so far correctly, I'm still learning!) I am building some search software for a law firm that I work for in Australia. It's all coming along really well, but I seem to have hit a snag getting data out of sharepoint lists and into my project!
I first attempted to add a web reference to sharepoint and after a while was able to pull in all of the data from the lists, fantastic!(OR NOT!). The issue then was when I attempted to load it up into an array using XMLNodes, whilst it loaded up fine and I could see all the data, if there was a null value in one of the columns, it wouldn't pull that null value across, therefore, I couldn't really use the data...
I just installed a VB application developed using VS 2008. I installed the application on a Windows 7 machine. The application uses a MS Access 2007 database.When I run the application, an exception gets raised:The "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" provider is not registered on the local machine.But I don't seem to have this problem on a Windows 98 machine.
problem is when i enter any letter in the alphabet in textbox1 it gives me an error but when i enter any number on it, it goes perfectly to the database. i set the data type into text(all 3 of them). the other two textbox work just fine. textbox1 is the only problem.
i just want the textbox1 to accept any input not just a number like the other 2 textbox work..
heres the code:
Imports System.Data.OleDb Public Class Form2 Dim cn As OleDbConnection
I am having trouble writing information to a 2007 access database. I just want to write a numeric value into a data base. My table name is KW and my field is also referred to as Kw.
Dim theOleDbConnection As New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;" & _ "Data Source=C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\My Documents\value.accdb") Dim theOleDbCommand As New OleDbCommand("INSERT INTO[KW] (Kw)VALUES (@P1)") theOleDbCommand.Connection = theOleDbConnection
I need to connect Access 2007 Data base using VB.net application. (This is an AddIn working underAutodesk Inventor 2012 64 Bit).When I use a ODBC DSN (under C:WindowsSysWow64) I need to compile the application with targetas x86. But Inventor 2012 64 bit needs target as x64 or Any CPU. So ODBC - DSN not working. When I tried OLEDB as "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=database.mdb"It returns with an error Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 not registered.
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0; Data Source=c:database.accdb;Jet OLEDB:Database Password=password;" This also gives the same error.
I am a VB.net beginner. I am doing simple program that has database connection with access 2007 and i want to store the data (whatever i enter in the textbox) to the database.I did the connection as per the instruction in the msdn(i.e;datasource/database/ms access/selecting accdb file/draging and dropping the fields of the table to the form from the datasource window)I want the code to store data from vb 2008 to access 2007.
im trying to add data to an ms access table that I have created elsewhere in the app. The code I am using is below but I keep getting an error message (Update requires a valid InsertCommand when passed DataRow collection with new rows.)
con.Open() sql = "SELECT * FROM attachment" da = New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter(sql, con) da.Fill(ds, "Attachment")
Having trouble adding a new record to an access table. I have the table called ITEM. Want to create a new row and then add a record to the table. Can't seem to open to connect to the table... Its bugging me :L
i have a access database with two tables, one for customer and one for booking.
I then have a form application i made in VS 2008 which lets a user enter details such as their name phone number ect into text boxes.
All of the information the person enters thoughout the program is shown via labels at the end, all on one form.
Would it be possible to then have a button that when clicked saves all of this information into the access tables into the correct columns, im sure it must be possible i just don't really know where to start.
