OleDbDataAdapter To An Access 2007 Table / Generate Dataset Type Not Defined

I've create a new VS 2008 Window Form Project using VB. I added an oleDbDataAdapter to the first and only form, set it to a table in my Access 2007 Database (there is only one table, PK field autonum of course and two Memo fields). The Database is in the Project's folder. A standard oleDb Connection object was created, as I expected, then I select the DataAdapter and choose 'Generate Dataset' which produces a standard DataSet called 'DataSet1.xsd'. Now when I build the project I get an error 'Error 1 Type 'FontTest.DataSet1' is not defined.' I do have a reference in my new Project to System.Data.So what the @#%$@ is going on? Why isn't the Dataset create by the DataAdapter being recongized? I can get into the DataSet Designer. The DataTable create is perfect, three columns defined correctly as I expected.

I'm using access to replicate something that is very simple in excel. I have one "due date" column, and I want the cell right next to those cells to tell me if there are less than 15 days to that date. In excel is a simple conditional function, but I want to do it in Access because it looks better.I'm new to access and even though I've been reading some posts and forums I haven't been able to pull this out. I tried to program a macro with the following

It shows the following error -> Compilation error: External name not defined.
So, it's not reading the "Alarma" field... how do I define this field? It's inside a formulary, and Alarma is the title (I downloaded a template from the internet and changed the titles so I wouldn't have to do it from scratch...)

I am attempting to write the entire contents of an ADO.NET DataSet to an Excel 2007 spreadsheet and, while having partial success, I am unable to dump the contents of the DataSet into the .xlsx file. "Partial success" meaning that I can generate the spreadsheet(s) ok, but cannot get the DataAdapter.Update to work.

I have used OleDbDataAdapter to Update DataSet
In DataSet ,there are two RowData(or >2 RowData) will be Update
After I used OleDbDataAdapter.Update(Dataset),there are only one(expect last one) RowData have Updated ,and the Last one Rowdata not be Updated to the Database .
If the Dataset have only one RowData to Update ,It's allright,it will be update to the DB
The Database ,i use is Access2007 ,Who can tell me why this will happen

I am trying to create a combo box the fill with the list of names from an Access Database Column, and I have read numerous forums trying to discern what to do but the stumbling block is when I try to copy their code, changing variable names to mine, etc I hit stumbling block when they ask for things like New SqlCommand(sSQL, myConnection) and my VB IDE doesnt come up recognising the sqlcommand when I start typing it in when it tries to autocomplete what I am typing. Whilst writing a routine in Access I founf it rather fiddly for user...was thinking it would be much better for them to click a button in VB.net and that would do all the hard work.
So is it possible to do these task against a Acecss 2007 database
-Delete table
-Compact database (to clear out table)
-then run query to remake table
is this doable?

I have a table called MEMBER with fields for mem_id, mem_name, mem_addr, mem_city,mem_state, mem_zip and another table called STATE with state_id, state_addr, state_name in Access 2007.On the Visual Studio 2008 form, there is a combo box for the state. The goal here is to display the state abbreviations, but use the state_id value for the mem_state (there is a foreign key between those two fields).The mem_state is defined as number, the state_id is autonumber. Under the mem_state definition in Access, I used the lookup wizard (on the database that is in the bin/debug folder) to set the following properties:

I'm having a problem that I've spent all day researching to try and figure out. It seems that the 'Attachment' type in an Access 2007 DB file is stored as three seperate pieces of data in the one field. If you open up the Relationships view, you can see it in the table itself.
I'm trying to do a simple DVD movie database to keep track of everything I have, and who I've loaned things out to. I'm doing this in part to further my education in VB.NET and to figure out some of the things involved with interacting with databases. I haven't actually written any code yet, read on and you'll understand what's going on.
I've got an Attachment field setup in the database to hold a picture of the movie poster or DVD cover art or something like that to help identify the film, and I named it 'Art' of type 'Attachment' since that will hold an image. Looking at the table in Access I see that 'Art' is broken down into three entries: Art.FileData, Art.FileName, Art.FileType. I'd like to be able to pull the filename and file type and display those on the form, but we'll get to that later.
When I use a drag-n-drop gridview of the database into my blank VB form, the Art field just shows the filename, in my case it's 'screenshot.png' since I just dumped a screen shot in as a test. So, the gridview on the form will see the field and display the filename, which is fine. If I do another Windows form and drag-n-drop a Details View (instead of the grid view), and have the Art field in the table set to a PictureBox (in the Data Sources view, you can highlight a field and then designate it as text or picture
or date or whatever), I end up with a blank box instead of my image.
I haven't typed any code into any of the forms at this point. I'm still in the Designer trying to get the layout and stuff the way I want it, afterwhich I'll start adding buttons and methods and such to search for things, print out a nice list of the films in the database (with and without pictures) and be able to sort out a list of who I've loaned things to (like an overdue book list). But so far, by just dragging and dropping from the Data Sources into the form, Studio automatically creates the dataset and bindings and such to read from the database file, and I can see all of my test data *except* for the image in the PictureBox (it's just blank/empty).
So, if you want to see what's happening and sort this out, then you need to do the following:
1. Create an access database with a table, that table having at least one field of type 'Attachment'
2. put a picture/image into that field as a first entry
3. in Studio (or in my case Express), create a new project, which'll have a blank form in it by default
4. create your database connection by using the 'Add new data source...' wizard for your Access DB file
5. from the Data Sources, expand the table views and change the attachemnt field from the default of TextBox to a PictureBox (you may have to Customize the types to get PictureBox to show up)
6. drag and drop that whole table onto your form, which will automatically create form elements to display the data and stuff
7. Run it, you'll see the problem.
I have no idea what I need to look at or edit or change to get this PictureBox to display the image from the database. Like I said before, if I leave the type set to the default of TextBox in the Data Sources view, then the field will display the filename of the file stored in that field of the database. Having not typed any code yet, I have nothing that I've done that I can edit other than the automatically created stuff that Studio did when I dragged the table into the form.
Being completely unfamiliar with how VB.NET wants to talk to a database (SQL server, Access or otherwise) I decided to create this little program to learn how to do it. But I ran into this problem and need a little help. What I'm looking for is what I need to change in the bindingSource or TableAdapter or TableAdapterManager or BindingsNavigator or whatever resource is binding the fields on the form to the entries in the database so that the PictureBox will get the part of my 'Art' field that actually
holds the image, not the filename or the type. I don't know how to do that, and that's what I'm trying to learn. What I would like to know is how to both get the image to display in the PicutreBox and pull the filename for that image as well to display beneath it or something in the form.
And before someone starts complaining about writing the whole program for me, I must say this is one element of a large personal project and if you read my entire post here you'll see that there are many other elements that will eventually go with it. I just need some help getting this one thing to work. Multiple web searches and such point to a variety of different approaches, many of
which I've tried to implement but nothing has worked. I'd like to do this entirely in .NET with no other dependencies if at all possible, but some of what I've seen so far today suggests using Interop and other things to make this work, but those haven't panned out for me either as of yet. My ultimate goal with this whole program is to have one (albeit probably large) executable file that will encompass the entire program, and to have it all work. After that, then I'll look into things like creating my own modules
and DLL's and such to thin it out, but I'm not even close to that point yet.

i have create a software for my college which is document management. well am doing good so far up to now where i need to upgrade my database what i mean ?
in case i need to make any changes to my database i don't want to enter the database and create new table or add new fields to existing table to my current database,i would like to do that throught visual studio 2010 programaticaly. something like an additional application where i will choose my database path and the application will upgrade the database with new tables or new fields .
i would like also to ask, in order to create database,or if you already have the database and you like to just open the connection to it programaticaly and add new field ,or relate some table ,you have to work with different librarys? Like ADOX,DAO etc ? and other.?

History: (Do excuse me if I don't reference different methods I've taken so far correctly, I'm still learning!) I am building some search software for a law firm that I work for in Australia. It's all coming along really well, but I seem to have hit a snag getting data out of sharepoint lists and into my project!
I first attempted to add a web reference to sharepoint and after a while was able to pull in all of the data from the lists, fantastic!(OR NOT!). The issue then was when I attempted to load it up into an array using XMLNodes, whilst it loaded up fine and I could see all the data, if there was a null value in one of the columns, it wouldn't pull that null value across, therefore, I couldn't really use the data...

I'm confused about DataSources and DataSets.I created a DataSource (DataSet?) via the DataSource wizard called PPIDataSet. This has tables in it Customer, Vendor, Orders, etc.Now I want to access the data in these tables via code. So I'm expecting to be able to do PPIDataSet.Customer.AddRow or something like that. However, when I access the PPIDataSet object, in IntelliSense,I only get PPIDataSet.CustomerDataTable PPIDataSet.CustomerRow
How do I access the table data via the DataSet? Or do I have to access it some other way?

In my VB.Net desktop application, I have several places where I am accessing a table, both for reading and for updating. For example:
Dim tempCount As Integer = Glbl.GlobalDataSet.Tables("Profiles").Rows.Count
The above does not work. However, the following does:
Dim tempCount As Integer = Glbl.GlobalDataSet.Tables(4).Rows.Count
I am pretty sure it was working in th past (I have recently switched to VS 2010 - could this have anything to do with it?) but it is not working now.
How can I make the first statement work, so can access tables by table name instead of by index?

I think this may be a usual issue but I am not able to find much info. There is a master customer database and a call log database at work. The call log database has two tables that are updated from the master database monthly. Now I am writing this vb frontend for the call log database and cannot figure out the update portion

In a VB.NET Windows form, I have a form named "form" I got this error in the form.Designer.vb whenever I assignt a data bound to a control. It complains in the "Designer" that "Type 'namespace.dataset' is not defined". The dataset is attached to the form in the design mode when I assign a data bound to a control to the Windows form and it generated the code to the "Designer" page. I can go to the "Designer" page to remove the "namespace" of the dataset and the error disappear. However the namespave re-appear to the dataset in the "Designer" page once I open the Windows form in the design mode.

I have 2 databases that I am working with. One is a compant customer database and the other is my personal call log. Now I am creating a front end for the Call Log. I was updating my customer list by Importing 2 tables from the customer database, a series of queries would erase all of my info, take all the data from the imported tables and move it into mine then erase the imported tables.
Im trying to accomplish the same in my VB frontend. I can connect and fill datasets from the customer database. I can erase my tables. How do I take all of this data from the newly created dataset and move it over to my empty tables?

I have text boxes binded to table from dataset. I make changes, i save changes.. then I open database with access, i can see changes...everything is ok... Then I open application again, changes are there, everything is ok. Then I close application and go to smoke.. when I come back and open application , the new data is gone. what's happening?
