Oct 20, 2009I have written a program that requires a particular image to appear in a picturebox. The image will be 1 out of 114 possibilites and the correct one is determined at runtime. I have all 114 images loaded into resources and I have the program correctley selecting the name of the jpg. I have the name of the jpg set to a variable (string) named gsSBdetail and I can make the name of the jpg file appear in a textbox. What code would I write to make the jpg in resources with the name assigned to gsSBdetail appear in a picturebox? NOTE: I have all of the names of the jpg's in a table in a SQL server database and use a multi parameter query to select the correct jpg file name, which in turn is assigend to the gsSBdetail variable. Is ther a way to load jpg's into the SQL server table and just select the jpg file itself for the picture box?

SQL Server 2005 - Select From Multiple DB's & Compile Results As Single Query?
Sep 25, 2009Ok, the basic situation: Due to a few mixed up starts, a project ends up with not one, but three separate databases, each containing a portion of the overall project data. All three databases are the same, it's just that, say 10% of the project was run into the first, then a new DB was made due to a code update and 15% of the project was run into the new one, then another code change required another new database for the rest of the project. Again, the pertinent tables are all exactly the same across all three databases.
Now, assume I wanted to take all three of those databases - bearing in mind that they can't just be compiled into a single databases due to Primary Key issues and so on - and run a single query that would look through all three of them, select a given set of data from each, then compile those three sets into one single result and return it to the reporting page I'm working on.

Asp.net - SQL Server 2005 - Pass In Name Of Table To Be Queried Via Parameter

Due to the design of the database I have to work with, I need to write a stored procedure in such a way that I can pass in the name of the table to be queried against if at all possible. The program in question does its processing by jobs, and each job gets its own table created in the database, IE table-jobid1, table-jobid2, table-jobid3, etc. Unfortunately, there's nothing I can do about this design - I'm stuck with it.
However, now, I need to do data mining against these individualized tables. I'd like to avoid doing the SQL in the code files at all costs if possible. Ideally, I'd like to have a stored procedure similar to:

Is this even possible in SQL Server 2005? Alternate ways to keep the SQL out of the code behind would be welcome too, if this isn't possible.

In reporting application the select querry used, gets the data including those 1753 date values. good
Problem 1753 date causes hell with report calculations. there are a lot of calculations in the report and changing the code to ignore 1753 will be a headache, so i was thinking Is there a way to tell sql server,

We would have much better control of our ecommerce if I could do this quickly with custom program.
So far I have managed, after a lot of disappointments, to connect to the sage data through the sage ODBC and populate a datagridview. I've only got this far by luck, with many errors due to me and system and software problems. I thought this would be relatively easy as I once used an app to create a word document programmatically with a very thorough guide, it's not looking so easy now. I have also added a check box column to the datagridview for selecting rows and thats as far as I have got.I was thinking perhaps of passing the selected data to an array and then creating and populating the spreadsheet.how to get selected rows from DGV.

Sep 28, 2009I would like to know the best, or standard, way to accomplish real-time client updates in a small multi-user application using an access data table as a data source.
Specifically, this application will be used by 3-4 people. It uses a datatable which is filled on form load and bound to a datagrid at design time. The datatable is stored on a shared drive. The data table on the shared drive is updated in two ways:
1) Users can update the datagrid which then updates the datatable on the shared drive via the data adapter's Update method.
2) A server application does some work on some text files, periodically updating the data table.
I need the clients to reflect the changes to the data table on the shared drive as closely to real-time as possible. I know that the data table stored in memory on the client is disconnected from the data table on the shared drive, so I must query again to get the updates.
I have two questions:
1) Is there an alternvative model I can use which is connected, and which will automatically reflect the updates in the data table on the shared drive?
2) If not, what is the best way to check for changes in the data table (so I can know when to call the data adapter fill method)? I am planning to poll the drive for a change to the .mdb file, raise an event and then fill the data adapter when the event is triggered. I am using this method successfully now to check for changes to a text file in another application, and I know how to implement it

This is to ensure that the user enters the correct city spelling, in order to receive an accurate quote. Currently, there are about 150K cities that are being loaded to the dropdown listbox on page load. It takes about 30-40 seconds for that page to load. My initial thought was to allow the user to select the state first. Then load the city values. But the user has the option of going back and requesting a quote for a different city / state.
