2.) I have several "TextBoxes" listed as being on a "Form" but they cannot be seen. I have copied and pasted these during the design phase but have renamed the copies since. Is there a way to purge the unseen TextBoxes?
Hint: If you have "Windows 7", at the desktop, press <CTRL><SHIFT> and Rotate the Wheel on the Mouse. This will re-size the Icons on the desktop. "THIS ALSO WORKS IN THE VB2010 IDE" and allows you to Zoom the code window.

I can't pass in the correct element ID, though. From what I understand, ASP.NET transforms the ID I assign into some huge long ID for the sake of uniqueness. For example, I assign a table with the ID 'drillDownTable0' and it spits out 'ctl00_drillDownTable0' in the HTML markup. It worked the first time around, but then the Repeater gets binded to a new row and then I get 'ctl01_drillDownTable0' so on and so forth. I've tried the ClientID, ID, and UniqueID where I add the attributes to the Cells in the code above and they don't do what I need to. Is there any way I can get that ID and pass it to the Javascript function? Or I guess a better question is: When are the IDs generated and can I get to them before the page is rendered in HTML?
Show A Textbox Displaying Numbers With A Control?
Jun 20, 2011I have three Buttons labled "Single" "Double" and "Triple" and four textboxes, one for each button and one to display the results. Here is how it works. Each time I click on one of the buttons, it increments itself by that number...for example if I click on Button with the word "Triple" on it I will get the result '3' in the adjoining textbox. If I click it again the number will change to '6'. This holds true for all the buttons. I have this part of the program working well. there a way to have the addition of all these numbers appear in the fourth textbox WITHOUT having to use another button. In other words I want the fourth textbox to constantly update as I'm pushing buttons.

Jun 3, 2010I am attempting to show a specific form using a treeview control, the nodes of which have their tag value set to an instance of the Form I need to show. The code I have in the DoubleClick event works great for the first time I show a form, but after that I get an object disposed exception. As you can see, I tried handling it by resetting the tag, but that didn't work. Is there any way I can show the form more than once without going through a switch statement anytime the exception comes up and resetting the tag to the right type of form? I'd like something nicer looking like the way I show the form.

Apr 9, 2012I've seemed to found some interesting behavior with the stock MonthCalendar control. I've set the MinDate property to 1/1/1990 but when I try to actually select a date anywhere previous to 1/1/2000 it jumps to 12/31/2999 why is that?
I've tries manually setting it to 4/8/1998 and it jumps to 4/8/2998 which isn't what I would expect a calendar control to do. Is there a reason it keeps it within the 21st century?
VS 2008 Treeview Control Doesn't Show Images?
Oct 25, 2009I am trying to setup a treeview control to display all drives and folders on the PC. So far I can display all drives and folders but the images will not show except rarely. I am using an imagelist with 4 images (index 0-3). The code below is used to load the drives in the treeview control. I have tried using every type of image possible from bmp to png and nothing. I have tried the Appllication.EnableVisualStyles() which I now know isn't needed in vs 2008. I am also having problems with a picturebox in another form that shows nothing but a shadow of the image. I suspect this may be a setting somewhere maybe in vs 2008 but am not able to find one.

Webbrowser Control Image Offline Images Does Not Show?
Jul 18, 2009i'm making an app which uses a webbrowser control to show some offline (not cache) html pages like a slide show. let's say pages in a folder on the desktop etc when it came to testing the whole thing, i figured out that the images in the html are not visible on the webbrowser control. instead there is a space where the image should be, corresponding the actual image dimensions.and when i right click on this empty space where images should be, and click on properties, i see the image size given as -1 byte (minus 1 byte) and there is no image type.
however given any online url's to the same webbrowser control or opening the same html pages with the real internet explorer i got no problem and see the images.i've been googling for almost 10 hours for a solution without success, so any hints are welcome. used vb 2008, .net framework 3.5, ie 7.
