I am trying to build a ActiveX DLL using VB6. The IDE finishes the compilation phase and starts writing the DLL when it gets the error. I've searched MSDN and google without finding any answers.
View 1 RepliesWe are getting this error on one PC every time we turn on any add-ins in Excel. Googling the issue has not produced any useful results nor has searching the Microsoft KB. The problem occurs when any add-in is turned on in Excel even those that come with Excel (like the Euro conversion tool). The problem began when the user was having issues with Outlook not working with his profile. I first tried a 'repair' of the Office install (which created this problem, but did not solve the other.) I solved the Outlook issue by creating a new profile for the user. I have since uninstalled Office entirely and reinstalled.
OS: XP pro sp3.
Office: 2003 Pro.

I'm developing a chart that is frecuently updated.This chart works with a macro to display the period of time the user wish. The worksheet is protected because it can't be edit by the user. The user can just enter the dates between the period that he wants to be display by the chart. When I use the file on Excel 2003 its runs without any problem. But, when I use it on Excel 2006 or 2010 it gives me the following error:

I am vb 2008, with backend ORACLE 8i Server version In Intel Core 2 Laptop The project is upgrade from VB 6.0. When i am running a project by step by step(F8), it is working. If i do direct(without Step by step), it is rasing this error as "Unspecified error", Particualr time all the recordsets are closed. But on the same project, opening lot of recordsets,closing and set as nothing. After somtimes only i am getting this error. Why i am getting this error really confusing?

I developed a site it works well at localhost (IIS) but the problem is that when I upload it to the server it works for some time, for some entries & gives the error and after this error, it appears to all pages. The errors are
1. "Unspecified error"
2. Error in web.config (attaching the error image) though I fix it.
I do not understand why it appears / displaying the error using the MS Access as database.

Now I am trying to publish another form which has a connection to my sql database. The publishing goes fine: publishing folder is: C:Movie-databaseApplication 4 and installation folder is the same, and I therefore leave it empty. Application is available only online. But when I execute the published setup.exe I get two windows with no info about the error: see attachment.

I get the run time error 2147467259(80004005) No unique index found for the referenced field of the primary table. Steps to recreate:Open Visual Studio and load a solution (some files automatically opened) - this is when the problem occurs Close all open files Restart visual studio and load solution (no issues)Open Exactly the same files again, restart visual studio and load solution so files open automatically (problem occurs!)
However, when trying to narrow it down to a single file (that is automatically opened when the solution is loaded), I couldn't reproduce the problem. Now with all the files open again the problem doesn't occur!!! So it looks like it is fixed - though this happened before and eventually the issue came back.
I think it is to do with one of the user controls with DevExpress controls on it - when the error occurs, the designer displays the error. Though I can't reproduce it at the moment to confirm that.

I'm writing an application that imports and tidy up address data into a cleaned, deduped excel workbook ordered in rows with each column as an address field. One of the issues I've ran into is that we sometimes get a workbook where the multiple address fields are held in a single cell with line breaks. I've written code to extract all of this data out of the excel sheet in to a dataset with each sheet as a table and the address fields contained within. I now want to create a new Excel workbook from this data with the address fields in Row and columns the problem I have is I can Open/create the Workbook but when I try to insert a new Sheet (Table) I get an error saying the Workbook is read only....

I am using VS 2008, Office 2007, and Win7 Home Premium on my system.I have a simple application which should be a breeze to build. All I am attempting to do is pull data from an Access database with four small tables into a data grid on a windows project. Should be simple, set up the data connection, choose a datagrid from the table in the data source view, drag it onto the page and done, right?I can't get it to work. It will all work fine until I attempt to run or debug the project. The data will not show up. The data grid does, but I get this error: A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Data.dll
As I said, the project seems to build fine, but it will not pull the data. After the initial build I get the message that Windows will show this page in Compatibility View. Is it something with Win7 Home Premium, or a setting somewhere?

I wrote the code below which calculates the length of a line on the form and save record. An error occurs when the programme tries to save the record. It gives me "Cannot perform '=' operation on System.Int32 and System.String" error. I checked the data type of "ID"(int), "Microscope"(Varchar), "Magnification"(int) and "Calibration"(Decimal), and they are fine so far as I know.
