View 1 RepliesI'm using Visual Studio Development Server (Visual Basic 2010) and it works fine. Now I've enabled NTLM Authorization because I want to test the website using a different user account. Now when I try to access the website I always get the following error page:
Server Error in '/' Application.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden.
Version Information: ASP.NET Development Server 10.0.0.0 .I'm using a test account which is a normal user within our domain. I've already set the access rights in my project folder to Full Access for this user but it does not help.
I'm in the process of converting a VB6.0 application to VB.Net (2008 Express). I have a MDI parent form, I'll call mdiBackground, and 4 MDI child forms, frmStatus, frmShow, frmQwerty, and frmSentence.The layout is as follows:mdibackground - has the menus at top and is a container for the child forms.frmSentence - appears at the top frmShow & frmQwerty - appear at the left and when one is closed the other one is in the same position.frmStatus - appears at the right, it has buttons which control when frmShow and frmQwerty are to appear I have a couple of regular forms that act as dialog forms. My application is connecting to a webservice but when the webservice is offline, it will show a messagebox saying there has occured an error in my application. Giving me the option to send a report...I surrounded my whole code with a try catch to catch unsuspected errors. But still this window appears. How can I stop this?

I am using VB 2008 Express and have created an application that connects to a SQL database to populate a datagrid.The application is working properly on my computer but will not on others 'remote connection permissions' error.After some googleing I found that the express version is crippled to only work on local machines that use a database.If I purchase Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, import and rebuild my application, will my application be able to run properly on other PC's?

View 2 RepliesThis will happen at random, and I can always just catch the error and re-establish connection to the server, but I am confused as to why. When doing lots of inserting into the sql server, I only establish one connection that is public, instead of many little connections. I had my doubts on a public sql connection, but it's been running great, and I've seen no problems until this morning. Again, this random moment I hit an error that stated, sql connection state is broken. Is it bad practice to just accept this error, and when it happens, re-establish the connection?

I just upgraded from Windows XP Professional to Windows 7 Ultimate. Now I have a program in which I am receiving the following error:"There is no editor available for C:...Form1.vb. Make sure the application type (.vb) is installed."
This occurs when I try to open the designer view of the form.This problem does not exist in new programs (ones created after the upgrade).I am at a loss to explain this.

View 6 RepliesI'm developing vb.net application with mysql as database. The database is on other machine in the network. In one function connection opens and executes query successfully. The same function makes call to other function.This second function tries ot do same thing. But this time while opening connection it gives error-"Access denied for user 'root1'@'AZAR' (using password: NO)". Here 'AZAR' is the name of my machine. The first function uses public variable declared in module for connection, whereas second function uses local variable for connection. I'm using PhpMyAdmin tool.

The application work fine in XP O/s but when i run the application in Windows 7 it gives error when connecting to Database.
It works fine when i create an new Access 2003 database in Window 7.
It gives error System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Operation must use an updateable query.
