Mvc 3 - MVC3 Razor View Project Gives Syntax Error In Error List Window For All VBhtml Pages?
Feb 22, 2011
Using MVC3 and Razor View engine, I created a VB.NET web application in VS 2010. This creates the default Account and Home Controller along with corresponding Action Views.Now if I open any vbhtml file I get the following error message in the Error List window.
Error 50 Syntax error. C:****MVC3AppVBViewsAccountLogOn.vbhtml MVC3AppVB
(See screenshot here http://www.flickr.com/photos/7672540@N07/5469248676/)
I want to use the Linkshare helper in the Microsoft.Web.Helpers dll. I added the reference to my project but if attempt to use it in the vbhtml file Visual studio underlines it with a blue squiggly and tells me it is inaccessible blah blah. I even added references to those webmatrix dlls as described here[url]...
When I open two very small MVC 3 partial view file (*.vbhtml) in Visual Studio 2010 Express SP1, I get a "Syntax Error." with no Line or Column defined. Visual Studio does not tell me what's wrong with these partial view.
This is driving me round the bend. I'm a long time VB.NET forms developer, quite new to ASP.NET and completely new to MVC. I'm creating vbhtml pages that use the VB.NET razor syntax, and I seem to be constantly fighting against the UI which is trying to indent my code incorrectly. Take the following example, based on the template page for a new Razor view:
I've the following code for a DropDownListFor and is working ok
@Html.DropDownListFor(Function(model) model.Habilitacoes, New SelectList(ViewBag.Habilitacoes, "KeyHL", "DescricaoHL"), New With {.class = "FillHSpace"})
How do I modify or create my own Html.ActionLink helper to accept and handle the first parameter (linkText) passed in as an empty string / nothing?Details: I currently have a strongly typed view that's passed a model which contains search results. My view loops through each item in the model and attempts to display a link to a contact with the following code:
@Html.ActionLink(currentItem.ContactName, "contact", "details", New With { .id = currentItem.ContactID }, Nothing)
Normally this would work just fine, but not every item in my search result has a ContactName. The Html.ActionLink helper errors when this first parameter is empty. In case it helps, here's the model property for ContactName (which is generated from a template due to Database First, so I don't believe it can be modified):
Public Property ContactName As String
I'd like to have a helper function that simply returns nothing if the ContactName is an empty string / nothing.I'm guessing I need to extend this helper, and I've struggled to find any good, up-to-date resources in VB.net for extending helper functions. Other approaches are more than welcome if they're considered best practice. I'm working in VB.net, MVC3, and Razor in the ASP.net 4.0 framework.
I am doing a register window form and I have encountered errors. I am using this code to create a register window form. I am using MS Access to insert in the database. When I run using this code, it occur errors and it says "Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement."
The code that I am using: Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim conn As New OleDb.OleDbConnection conn.ConnectionString = "PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source = E:MajorProjectFileProjectSampledatabaseUser.mdb" conn.Open() [Code] .....
I'm attempting to implement SlickUpload in VBHTML.Using the C# Razor example I am getting a expression expected error.[code]I think this is something to do with @, but I'm not sure. Is it possible to use the text syntax in vbhtml?
I want to select some rows from a sql express 2005 table. I am using this expression: "Starttime >= " & dtpStart.Value dtpStart is a DateTimePicker But I am getting this error: Syntax error: Missing operand after '14' operator.
My boss has given me an asp.net web application that was done by his former employee. Now my boss has no contact with that employee. He wants me to make some changes in that web application. I went through the application. There is no documentation present for that application . Its a huge application. It contains many directories. I think it was a team work. It has many asp pages, aspx pages, jsp pages, xml pages, css pages, etc... How to understand other person or team's website or web application that was written in asp or asp.net and vb or vb.net?
So, concering my project: I am trying to control an RC Car via Kinect, until now I got it working with key control only (eg WASD). So, I am using a Velleman K8055 Interface Board + the Kinect and VB Windows Forms. So far, so good, I created 4 Forms: menu, info, kinect-controls + wasdcontrols window. The error only occurs for my kinect-controls window (german name: Steuerung.vb) & that's my source
I got a stored procedure that reads a table and insert those data to antoher table. That's the way how it works because the first table imports data from excel using a package with SSIS.In EF4 I imported the SP and create function import:This SP has 2 IN variables and 2 OUT varibales.The IN varibales are parameters and OUT variables are a message and the number of records created.[code]
This is not a homework of mine and i had never tried ms access database with vb so i just gave it a shot. so this is my first time and i am just trying not asking anyone to complete my homework. I have been searching for this a lot on internet but couldn't find a solution to this so i decided to ask this question here. i have this sql code. what i want to do is that create a basic login form where users puts it's username in the UsernameTextbox and Password in the PasswordTextbox. If the the information match then a message box appears saying that the user is valid and if the information does not exist, a mesage box appears saying the users is not valid. now everytime i execute(run) the code, i come up with this error: Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression ''UserName' = 'Admin' 'PassWord' = 'testing123''.
The field names(UserName, PassWord) are also correct they are same as in the database. the information put in the username and password textbox are correct and they match the information on the database. But i dont know why this error comes up.
My code module is the following:
Imports System.Data.OleDb
Public Class LoginForm1
' Cancel button Private Sub Cancel_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Cancel.Click Me.Close() End Sub
I am trying to upload a file to Mainframe machine from my VB.net application. I am getting the following error.The remote server returned an error: (501) Syntax error in parameters or arguments
this is my code for adding users in my database but it has an error on the INSERT INTO statement.here is the error: Microsoft office access database engine: syntax error in INSERT INTO statement.
vb.net Private Sub Button6_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button6.Click Dim conn As New OleDbConnection(cn) Dim check As Integer
Is there an error list in vs 2003? I can't remeber if there was and can't find it in the options... The TaskList window shows the errors but also messages like 'Visual Studio is ready to deploy XY' and it is distracting.
i use a database in access and I use a query for adaptor and dataset.
The query is next:
Select * from table1, table2 where table1.idsomething=table2.id and table2.name= 'Name1' AND datebirth>=#07.25.1988# AND datebirth<=#07.31.1988# order by datebirth asc
The error is: Syntax error in date in query expression
In the database the format date is dd-mm-yy.Why I have this problem? What is wrong at the query?
I am developing an application in which I need to use the tool jus like the Solution Explorer or Error List or Properties Window. Its like there have the common functionality of Floating,Dockable,Tabbed Document,Auto Hide and Hide. Can u let me know which tool in toolbox has this feature.
This should not be as hard as it seems to be, but I can't for the life of me create a table in VB using Razor syntax. The following does not work (despite what some examples would lead me to believe):[code]
