IDE :: Multi Column ComboBox, Full Search System?

Regarding multi column search, i want to clear you the situation where one column contains say FirstName and the another column contains LastName for the 'Contacts Combo box', then when user types either FirstName or LastName for the person, combo box should search for the appropriate value into both columns.
for my fifth question consider the same combo box with FirstName, LastName all typed together shows in one column only then, by default combo box searches only for strings that 'Start' with the string typed in the textbox portion, insted of which i need a feature which allows me to let set the behavior of combo box search system tobe able to search for the typed strings within any part of record.i.e. If user types 'Ja' in textbox portion, the the list should show following maches

I am Looking for a combobox that does a full search and O mean by that the following :
It starts searching data upon inserting or adding new character to the textbox of the combobox and vice-versa, which means that if I moved back by deleting a character then it starts searching again selecting the first data resembles the textbox. In another way I want a combobox class does exactly the same as combobox in Encylopedia.

I'm using vs2008 with vb.net, and I have googled all around for a multi column combobox and I know there is not an easy way to do it in .net. However, this is my situation:I have a table in my database that only has around 4 or 5 entries, with the columns FirstName, LastName, Type. I need all of these columns for each of the 4 or 5 entries to be displayed in the combobox. I've been trying to think of simple ways to do it such as counting all the rows, selecting each cell in a loop and programmatically assigning them to the comboboxes, but I realized that the ID column for these entries have numbers that do not go chronologically. (I thought that if I counted the rows, the row number would correspond to the ID number and I could go about looping and assigning variables/concatenating them into the combobox, but this is not the case).
So I am just looking to see if anyone else has any ideas on what I can do to solve this? It's a pretty simple problem but I'm kinda out of any simple ideas.

How do you use a parameterized query to make the (last_name, first_Name) appear in the same combo box? I know how do drag them over from the DATA SOURCES menu, but I am trying to combine them. So instead of it being two separate combo boxes with both last_name and first_name), it want it to find the the names with first and last name in the same combo box.

How can I search the local disk for a file type and copy the full path to a new location. I am trying to write a backup program that will copy all pst files to the server while maitaining the structure, so if there is a pst located in "C:pstuserpersonal1.pst" it would create the folder "\serverpstuserpersonal1.pst" and copy the file to the correct location. I would need it to do this for each pst on the hard drive no matter the location. The user running the program will not have admin rights, so it will need to skip files it cannot access.

I have a listbox populated with dates in the format of dd/mm/yyyy e.g. 12/03/1983, 06/07/1987 etc.. Could someone please post the code that I could use so that I could search the listbox to multi-select the dates that fall within a specific month (not year or day). have build some code which goes through the datasource finding records on what a user types, basically if the user types 'P' in the combobox it finds all records from FieldName with 'P' and if you type 'Portugal' it finds all records from the FieldName with 'Portugal, it all narrows down the search list say if there are to entries which match 'Portugal' the combox would only have to items in. The problem i am have is that when i bound the datasource back to the combobox every letter you type stays at Postion 0 of the combobox and doesn't move to the end of the letter as normally the combo works, does any one now how to get arround this problem.
At the moment i call my combobox search code from the keypress event of the combobox.This code works fine with recordsets in msaccess combobox but i cannot get it to work with the datasource of the combobox in vb.net Heres the code from the combobox keypress event:

First, I don't fully understand why VBA can have a multi column combobox but full VB doesn't? What purpose does it serve to only have a drop down list of text strings? I know there is an index property, but what if the items in the drop down can't logically be associated with an index value?

I have two text files, the first text file has two columns separated by a space (" ") and the second text file only has one column.
The column 1 in text file 1 and text file 2 match albeit in different order, what I'm trying to achieve is for every field in column 1 text file 2 I want to search for column 1 in text file 1 and display the matching column 2 field in column 2 text file 2.

who can clearify more about how to link the relationship between a Local database to ComboBoxes as an example below:
1. ComboType: it will show only kind of audio file extension
2.ComboCompany: will show only the music company name we added
3.ComboVolt: will show of album volt
How it work
If we've selected the ComboType Ex: mp3 file then in the ComboCompany After we have selected with any album name.

I have a listbox with two columns. Each listbox item contains a horizontal stacked panel which in turn contains textblocks.
The listbox is empty, with each listbox item being added by the end-user through a couple of textboxes placed elsewhere. The first column accepts strings, and the second column accepts only percentages.
(I have attached a relevant portion of the event sub where a user is adding new rows.)

I would like to be able to check every time the above event is fired that the column of percentages does not exceed 100%. I have a couple of labels below the listbox itself where I would like to show the running total and the remainder.
My questions are:
1) How can I loop through the second column of percentages to show the running total and remainder?
2) Is there something more suitable than a ListBox that could make this easier?
