Is possible to have different values of combobox on the multi same form?
Actually I want to make a multi same form, but with one combobox to set the authority. When different persons to use this same form, I will have different selection limited on this combobox,
Can I save values from the multi same form? How?
Sample:
on this form - one datagridview, one textbox, one combobox.
1. how to save the multi same form values with vb.net & access?
2. One of the combobox - room names (computer center, first meeting room, second meeting room, etc) on this multi same form, but it is limited from the admin, actually,the admin will assign the room to the manager to set the room. (I will do this room names combobox from the other table binding.) My question for this, is possible to have multi same form, but with different combobox values for each manager?

I have a databound combobox that displays a list of items, and I have a windows form that opens after clicking a button that allows me to make changes to the table that the combobox gets it's values from. When I make the changes and save them (successfully) and return to the parent window, the changes aren't reflected in the combobox. If I exit the app and launch it again the changes are reflected perfectly. I've tried me.combobox.refresh() on the forms GotFocus event, but no luck.

Is it possible to have a multi column combox box, being used as a lookup list, in a DataGridView.
View 2 RepliesI'm using vs2008 with vb.net, and I have googled all around for a multi column combobox and I know there is not an easy way to do it in .net. However, this is my situation:I have a table in my database that only has around 4 or 5 entries, with the columns FirstName, LastName, Type. I need all of these columns for each of the 4 or 5 entries to be displayed in the combobox. I've been trying to think of simple ways to do it such as counting all the rows, selecting each cell in a loop and programmatically assigning them to the comboboxes, but I realized that the ID column for these entries have numbers that do not go chronologically. (I thought that if I counted the rows, the row number would correspond to the ID number and I could go about looping and assigning variables/concatenating them into the combobox, but this is not the case).
So I am just looking to see if anyone else has any ideas on what I can do to solve this? It's a pretty simple problem but I'm kinda out of any simple ideas.

View 2 RepliesRegarding multi column search, i want to clear you the situation where one column contains say FirstName and the another column contains LastName for the 'Contacts Combo box', then when user types either FirstName or LastName for the person, combo box should search for the appropriate value into both columns.
for my fifth question consider the same combo box with FirstName, LastName all typed together shows in one column only then, by default combo box searches only for strings that 'Start' with the string typed in the textbox portion, insted of which i need a feature which allows me to let set the behavior of combo box search system tobe able to search for the typed strings within any part of record.i.e. If user types 'Ja' in textbox portion, the the list should show following maches

However if the user then selects more days and times to add to the list box, and activates the button again, the previously added entries in the array are erased, and only the new entries are displayed. How can I prevent previous entries from being erased? If the user wants to add values, they need to be added to the existing values.[code]

I have read a lot of the prior questions/answers on this topic but it only took me so far. I have a solution to which I added 2 additional programs. These 2 added programs in essence create a PDF2TIFF converter using GS. I wish to call that form and use it as a utility from my main program. After reading other answers in the forum, I added these two programs as references in the main program and imported everything available, into the main program. I have what seems to be a correct build order set up. I want to open the form in the utility project(s) from a link on my main form. I tried a few things but the only way I could write the code without errors was to instantiate the second program then call that with a button click.

I have a tab control application, each tab loads a particular user control and each of those user controls will then add other user controls that are used amongst other the user controls. For example, I have an "ucQuotes" page and an "ucInventory" page, when the specific tab is selected, the "uc****" user control is loaded on that page, and in the case of "ucQuotes" and "ucInventory" they both use a control called "ucPartNumber"; a user control consisting of a combobox, textbox, and button. I have no issues reusing the shared user controls, in this case. My problem arises with my "ucQuickPrice" control, as it is always present at the bottom of the tab control form (separate from the tabcontrol, but on the same form), and it too uses ucPartnumber.
Here's my issue, as I type into the ucPartnumber combobox, the text I type does not appear in the combobox, it appears in the textbox of the ucPartnumber control that is being used on the tabcontrol page. There are no shared instances of ucPartNumber, nor do I have this issue between typing on one tab page and the text showing on the user control of another tab page.I tried just creating the ucPartNumber controls on the ucQuickPrice control, not adding a new instance of ucPartnumber on the .Load event, and the issue persists.
The combobox(s) in question are bound programmatically with about 40,000 items, ".datasource = dataset.tablename" not to a bindingsource. Autocomplete is set to none, I added code to utilize tool tips and the basic combobox filtering functionality. Is this a bug, or is there something I'm neglecting? I'm about 95% complete with this application, and this just happened today. I made the decision, to just reuse the ucPartNumber control on the ucQuickPrice control (originallly it's size and orientation would not fit, but I added some coding to detect what parent is adding ucPartNumber and to change its appearance accordingly). Before, I made this change, I did not have this problem. And, in trying to go back to how I had things set up before the change, the problem will not go away. if the whole control within a control verbage I used is a bit confusing, let me know and I'll try to better explain what is happening. At this point, I'm going to close and reopen vbexpress, as when I started this ordeal, vb started acting weird and wanted me to save all my work, it usually does this before locking up.
I have a table in my database with 5 columns (ID1 to ID5) and just one row. I'm trying to bind a comboBox, to show ID1 through ID5 in the combobox when my form loads. I have a dataset and tableAdapter's made for this already. I just want to know how to bind a combobox to those ID values.
