When i try to build and play my project there is an error:Microsoft Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debug target "....LCCGDuelArenaVBNETCompatible.exe" is misssing
I am trying to list all the current threads that are running in my application. According to various posts, this can be simply done by selecting Debug -> Windows -> Threads however the threads window is not there. I am using Visual Basic Express .net 2010, am I doing something wrong, or is it not implemented in this version ?
If it is not implemented, is there a simple way to display all the threads that are running. I don't want lots details about them, just what they are ?
i am working on a microwave app its very important anyways ill give up what code ive got so far and such but when i try to run it i get this error message: Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debug target Microwave.exe is missing Please build the project and retry or set the OutputPath and AssemblyName properties appropriately to point at correct location for the target assembly. [Code]
I'm using visual studio express 2008, I wrote my code for a project and then when I tried to debug it I got a few errors but one main one that says this. Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debug target "".exe is missing Please build the project and retry, or set the output path and assembly names appropriately to point at the correct location of the target assembly. Since this is my first time debugging a program with this particular instance of the program, I am in shock. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
If you are creating a new adapter, drag a data adapter object from the Toolbox onto a form or component.
I cannot find Data Adapter object anywhere in the toolbox. I assume it would be under the Data grouping, but it is no where.I also "Reset ToolBox" and it is still not there.
I am missing something simple. I know how to bind asp.net datagrids and webforms, but this is my first time trying to bind to an object list of T in a windows form. (I am use to using datasets with datatables and im trying to get away from doing that).I have a simple object list that gets populated on the form load. However if I click a button to add a dummy record the datagridview does not display the new record added. The bindingNavigator (if clicked nextrecord) and "debug stops" all show that the new record I just added to the object list is there.
Even adding the datasource object in the watch list shows the new records are there. They are just not displaying.
I cannot seem to figure out as to why the new record is not being displayed in the datagridview when I can see the record got clearly added to the datasource.
#1 is C# Class Library, where I have my EF model defined (3.5 sp1) and some public methods.#2 is a VB winforms app.In the winforms app, I have referenced the C# library and added the connection string for the EF model. The problem I am having is that I have a form where the user selected a .txt file to import. On the VB side, I create a byte() from the file, then pass it to a public method cleverly called Process. In Process(), everything runs smoothly until I instantiate the EF model.
using (WorkersCompImportEntities context = new WorkersCompImportEntities()) { .... Where I receive this error: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Drawing, Version=1.0.3300.0,
I have tried several versions of this with no luck. The casting of the worksheet works as my data is entered in other parts, but I have a section where I need to add data 1 column right of the cell containing the 'str(0)' value. Most of these parameters are optional. I have even tried the System.Reflection.Missing object.
I'm making a little program in where i'm trying to invoke a method from a class dynamically with so called Reflection.
The class I'm trying to call is called ContactList and i try to invoke the property in this class called count. The assembly itself is called Contact.Exe
Now I have the following code where I make an instance of the ContactList class in the Contact.exe assembly:
I'm working on a project for my VB class at school. I am creating a form with several inputs and it calculates the total amount owed for a car sale. I have a text box for input of the TRADE IN VALUE of a car. the program is looking for a numeric input. If there is no trade in, how can i get this box to default to 0.00 so it doesnt error the program?
if you are debugging or releasing a projet , vs writes exe or bin files to the bin and obj folder in a release and debug version, are ther differences bewteen these files with the same name in 4 folders ?, eg myproject.exe
Got a question regarding declaring a variable. Basically I have a module that writes to a text file using textwriter which is declared for the whole module to use at the top of the code. But what I want to do is clear the contents of the text file when the program is executed (using file.writealltext). The problem I have is that the file is obviously already in use as a result of the textwriter and the file cannot be modified because of this.
My question is: is there any way of declaring the textWriter object later on (not during the initial initialization of the module) without passing the object between functions? Setting the variable as inactive or something along those lines during initialization would be ideal.
i am trying to make a app that loads a keyboardhook from a module on startup, but the problem i am having is unless i load the keyhook from the form, the app just closes immediately.
what im trying to accomplish in the end is the module will will check a 'user settings' file, depending on the settings it will show a form or load the keyhook. but this is where my problem is, if i set the keyboardhook to load from the sub main in the module the app will just close immediately unless (as far as i can tell) i am always typing something
if i set it to load from the form it stays open, ive tried creating a second module and loading the keyhook from their but it still closes i uploaded a copy of the keyhook module if anyone want to test it / check out the code... all it does right now is pop up a msgbox on every keystoke, for testing purposes,
my application starts executing a module. it runs process.
Quote:
Public Sub SubMain() 'run process . . Application.Run(New frmLogin) End Sub
But now I want to add a splashscreen. But when I go to set it to "My Project" / "Application", I can not to set this module as start object. How I can set my module as start object and before to show the splash screen?
Simple question that does not seem to be covered: If I use a lot of Debug.WriteLine statements in my code, will they be completely absent in my production version?
I mean: Is the compiler smart enough to not emit any code for those calls? Or would I have to surround them by #if DEBUG..#end if directives?
I am trying to call a public subroutine from a Windows form based on a string variable containing the name of the subroutine. The subroutine is a procedure in a code module and works fine when called by using the procedure name directly. The VB.net function CallByName should work, but I don't know how to specify the module name as the "Object Ref" parameter.
In the code shown, "ReportLibrary" is a module containing the public sub with the name contained in the string strReportProcedure.
[Code]...
What am I missing or is it just not possible to call a routine from a module using CallByName?
I am somewhat new to object oriented programming and am attempting to flatten a Linq object hierarchy by using a shim class.how to initalize a derived class with property values from a base class?I have two objects, a base object with about 100 properties, and a derived object which inherits from the base object and adds a few additional properties beyond those of the base object. My simple constructor creates the derived object, but I am looking for a way to initialize the derived object properties with values from the base object.Right now I am using reflection to iterate over the properties individually and I suspect there may be a better way. The following example shows my shim class constructor for the derived class, and two properties:
newProperty1 - a new string property of the derived class
flattenedProperty2 - a new string property of the derived class, copied from a 2nd-level object of the base class
Code example:
Public Class derivedObj Inherits baseObj Private _newProperty1 As String[code].......
Is this the correct constructor approach to flatten the object hierarchy using a shim class? My second question relates to initialization of properties in the derived class. The constructor above creates the derived object, but what is the best way to initialize the derived object properties with values from the base object? The following code uses reflection to iterate over the properties individually, but I suspect there may be a better way.
Code example:
' property names are in the string array fieldNames
'baseObjQuery is an ienumerable of baseObj
'derivedObjList is a list of derivedObj[code].....
Is there a simple way to initialize values for the properties in the derived object based upon the values of the common properties in the base object?
It run smoothly for the first time, but when I execute it for the second time,it occured the following errors:Unable to copy file "obj\Debug\FYP.exe" to "bin\Debug\FYP.exe". The process cannot access the file 'bin\Debug\FYP.exe' because it is being used by another process.
I am getting following error whenever I want to use IIf function inside entity framework query.
LINQ to Entities does not recognize the method 'System.Object IIf(Boolean, System.Object, System.Object)' method, and this method cannot be translated into a store expression.
I'm doing an experiment on WPF and MVVM, and while coding the ViewModel on Vb.net I noticed this red wavy lines under my ObservableCollection(of T)s T_T
Anyway, the application is in WPF & VB.Net, under the .Net Framework 3.5 (I checked) and I have an 'Imports System.Collections.ObjectModel' on top of my class. Intellisense shows the other classes on System.Collections.ObjectModel except ObservableCollection.
Here's a screenshot.
So, why is ObservableCollection(of T) missing and how do I make it appear?
I am trying to publish to my hard drive so it can later be burned to CD or DVD a project I have developed and I seem to be missing that file. The person I developed it for does not have good internet access, so downloading such things as SQLExpress and DotNetFx35Client is all but out of the question. How and where do I get the file? I know where to put it on my hard drive once I have it.
I have been given the source code to a 2005 VB project to modify. But I can't find the .sln file or a vbproj file or open the project. Don't I need that file to open the solution correclty? or do I have to start a new solution and just add in all files?
