View 1 RepliesEach form has a Status Strip, Menu Strip and Tools Strip. Each one of those has at least one control.Suddenly, in design and debug all of the Contrls on the SS,MS and TS controls are gone i.e. the Strips are present but they have no controls on them.Their Items (collection) property is empty. All of their event handlers are still present and can be accessed. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it with out deleting the Strips and redoing?
View 8 RepliesI've used VS2005 where there was an option to basically break into the code via menuitem on the debug menu. I can't exactly remember what it was called although I seem to think it was "break all". I know this has something to do with the setup/layout/whatever MS called it, I picked when I first installed VS. I went into the options and couldn't find a way to enable it. It is disabled if you enable "edit and continue" or something?
View 2 RepliesMy visual studio 2005 has been running great up till now The menu items in the menu toolbar display exactly as follows:File File Edit Edit View View File File Edit Edit View View Tools Tools Tools Tools Window Window Community Community Help Help Window Window Community Community Help Help
Error List is displayed as follows:(I've excluded the icons)0 Errors 0 Errors 0 Warnings 0 Warnings 0 Messages 0 Messages The standard toolbar images are also displayed in 'duplicate'
This is before I open a project and visual studio is on the start page. The 'duplicates' do not go away even when a project is open. When project is open, Solution explorer displays duplicate images as well
I've tried all the following but still cannot get it to display normally. Restored my computer to a time when it was working ok. Full scan on my computer with AVG premium which includes spyware etc (No viruses , etc found) All software is updated fully
Which is the toolbar with the dropdown for release or debug?

I am trying to list all the current threads that are running in my application. According to various posts, this can be simply done by selecting Debug -> Windows -> Threads however the threads window is not there. I am using Visual Basic Express .net 2010, am I doing something wrong, or is it not implemented in this version ?
If it is not implemented, is there a simple way to display all the threads that are running. I don't want lots details about them, just what they are ?
I tried to copy the Menu controls from one form to another but the toolbar vanishes from the second form(the form that I copied the menu controls to).

View 5 RepliesI'm using visual studio express 2008, I wrote my code for a project and then when I tried to debug it I got a few errors but one main one that says this. Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debug target "".exe is missing Please build the project and retry, or set the output path and assembly names appropriately to point at the correct location of the target assembly. Since this is my first time debugging a program with this particular instance of the program, I am in shock. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
View 6 RepliesTwo(2) Things. I don't have the "Clickonce Option" when I select BUILD for the menu bar. I also don't have the "Step Into Option" from my DEBUG menu. Do I have a problem? Or do I need to turn something on?

View 1 RepliesWorking with a form that has a menu, toolstrip and Crystal Viewer control. I cannot seem to get the viewer to maximize properly without hiding the toolbar of the Crystal Control behind the menu and toolstrip. I've played with the options of Dock and Alignment, as well as autosize and I just can't get it to work.So do I need to handle the sizing myself to do this and position the control where I need it?

I want to create my own toolbar/band for IE. I've searched all over and can only find a few small C++ or C# references but nothing in VB 2005. How to create this.
View 2 RepliesI am running Windows Vista Ultimate. I have a copy of Visual Studios 2005. The toolbar is not working. I tried all of these and none of these fixed the toolbar:
-Show all (greyed out)
-Reset Toolbar
-delete C:UsersUsernameAppDataLocalMicrosoftVisualStudio8.0*.tbd worked one time then it did not.
I have a form that has a toolbar and a status bar on it. After the form's InitializeComponent method is ran, I add a listview control to it and set the listview's dock property to fill. The listview is actually an overridden listview with an overridded constructor - that's why I don't just add the listview using the designer.
But the listview tucks itself up under the toolbar. It looks like the bottom of the listview respects the presence of the status bar. It's just the top of the listview that is giving me problems. So, any guesses as to what I may be doing wrong - why the listview tries to fill dock underneath the toolbar?
When you select Definition in VB6.0 there is this Last Position menu that lets you return to the line where the cursor is located previously, it seem to be missing in .Net IDE or I can not just find it?

I am trying to returns records based on the last name of a customer in an access db. When I run the query in Access it works fine, the name in the examples returns 3 records with that last name. I use the same basic structure for other queries based on other fields (ID, UnitID etc) and they work fine.

I have added reference to few dlls in my VB.net Project. When I check into Visual source safe and get latest version from another machine, VS.net 2008 throws errors.I have to add the references again in that new machine. Is there anyway where I can keep the references in spite of files checked in to VSS?I need to send copy all the files to production server and we don't have VS.net on the production box to add reference and build the application.
View 2 RepliesI am using this to download the source code from a web site but it is not downloading all the links:
With Form2.RichTextBox1
Dim instance As New Net.WebClient
Dim aAddress As Uri = Me.WebBrowser1.Url
.Text = instance.DownloadString(aAddress)
End With
If I right click with the mouse on the site and view page source the links are there but for some reason download string is missing them.
When in the degug mode stepping through code a line at a time, I want to monitor a variable that was created public on another form. It adds the request, but won't shoe me the data. It says I have to ahve an object reference. I don't know what it wants exzactly or how to give it. Here is an example:
I have on form 1 one a variable, Crec. I am in the debugger debugging code in form 2. To access the variable on form one in my code on form 2, I have to use this syntax: form1.crec Now when I put this quickwatch request in, while debugging form 2, it will not let me see the value for form1.Crec It says I need an object reference. Can you tell me I am doing wrong and how to correct it? I'm sure it something simple.
For the last half an hour, whatever changes I make in my app, when I hit the green arrow to start debugging nothing changes. The app seems to be running from a previous build? There's no error/warnings/messages on build.
View 2 RepliesA problem has started recently - I'm developing an ASP.NET application and when I click 'Start Debugging', it builds and opens a web page, but not where I can set breakpoints or step through the code. From within Visual Studio, it looks as if it's not running after the web page opens.
If I restart the computer, it works the first time or 2, but after a while it starts doing that again. Also, I'm using RDP to access my work computer to do my work. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, because I didn't notice this happening the last time I went to the office.
