Visual Studio 2005 - Menu Items,Toolbar Items ,etc Displayed In Duplicate?
Jun 1, 2009
My visual studio 2005 has been running great up till now The menu items in the menu toolbar display exactly as follows:File File Edit Edit View View File File Edit Edit View View Tools Tools Tools Tools Window Window Community Community Help Help Window Window Community Community Help Help
Error List is displayed as follows:(I've excluded the icons)0 Errors 0 Errors 0 Warnings 0 Warnings 0 Messages 0 Messages The standard toolbar images are also displayed in 'duplicate'
This is before I open a project and visual studio is on the start page. The 'duplicates' do not go away even when a project is open. When project is open, Solution explorer displays duplicate images as well
I've tried all the following but still cannot get it to display normally. Restored my computer to a time when it was working ok. Full scan on my computer with AVG premium which includes spyware etc (No viruses , etc found) All software is updated fully
I got an error when I tried to open the designer for one of my forms in Visual Basic 2010 express and I had the option to ignore it so I clicked that (which I regret doing so much) and now my form is erased, but I still have the code for it.I tried right clicking and selecting show designer but it just brings up a blank form. I had a datagrid control called "DataGrid1" and when i tried adding a new control to the blank form it says that "DataGrid1" already exists but it doesn't.So after I resolved the first 85 errors I got one more that doesn't make sense:
Error 1 The item "objx86DebugWindowsApplication1.frmMain.resources" was specified more than once in the "Resources" parameter.Duplicate items are not supported by the "Resources" parameter.
We have an application that has a main form with a map on it. Right now the paradigm is to have forms that are displayed using menu items to display information to the user. Most of these forms are modal forms, but a couple are non-modal forms that interact with the map. For some of the forms, it really would make for a better user experience if we could dock them in the main form of the app and allow the user to see both the form and the map. For instance. We could have a list of map features in a docked window, and select one of the items on the list and have the map zoom to that feature. Or do the reverse: let the users select a map item and have a docked window that shows details of the feature. Sounds great, but I wonder about what sort of gotchas we may encounter. In particular, what if we have two windows docked at the same time? Could we get tangled up in our event code?
I have a List object and I want to remove the duplicated items but leaving at least one of the duplicated items in the list;I wrote something like this however I would optimize this code for better performance, is there something faster?
Const chars As String = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz" Dim rnd As New Random() Dim mylist As List(Of String) = Enumerable.Range(1, 100).Select(Function(i)
I have a menu strip. In the menu strip I have something for some saved urls in the database, I called it Bookmarks. So I'm trying to fetch the items from the database and have it load in to the menu items.. but it keeps adding items and I only want them added once. [Code]
I have currently changed the color of background Menustrip using this code
[Code]...
How do i change the Hover color of menu items and dropdown menu items to orange including the background color which holds icons in menustrip dropdown.....
I have the following linq statement to go through a dropdown menu's sub items and get what items are checked: vb Dim UnselectedItems = From xItem As ToolStripMenuItem In tsiSelectObjects.DropDownItems Where TypeOf xItem Is ToolStripMenuItem AndAlso CType(xItem, ToolStripMenuItem).Checked = False
I get this error tho: Unable to cast object of type 'System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripSeparator' to type 'System.Windows.Forms.ToolStripMenuItem'. As you can probably guess i have ToolStripMenuItems and separators in there
However the AndAlso should short circuit in the case where the item is not a ToolStripMenuItem and it doesn't seem to be doing so (as TypeOf xItem Is ToolStripMenuItem=false in this case)?
I have a listbox with 1091 items in it, which I am adding during design time. Every time Visual Studio tries to save after I manually populate the listbox it will hang indefinitely. Is there any way around this, am I trying to add too many items to a listbox?
I am using the following code to try to grad whats in the listview on another window:
Private Declare Function SendMessage Lib "user32.dll" Alias "SendMessageA" (ByVal hWnd As IntPtr, ByVal wMsg As Integer, ByVal wParam As Integer, ByVal lParam As IntPtr) As IntPtr
Each form has a Status Strip, Menu Strip and Tools Strip. Each one of those has at least one control.Suddenly, in design and debug all of the Contrls on the SS,MS and TS controls are gone i.e. the Strips are present but they have no controls on them.Their Items (collection) property is empty. All of their event handlers are still present and can be accessed. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong and how to fix it with out deleting the Strips and redoing?
So I have a modal form and the caption bar comes with a built-in context menu with Minimize, Maximize, Move, Close, etc... I would like to be able to add an item to that menu - 'Dock in app'.

I recently installed WSP Builder on a machine with Visual Studio 2008 already installed.Quite expectedly, the WSP Builder sub-menu appeared (and still appears) under the Visual Studio 2008 Tools menu.Having then installed Visual Studio 2010 Professional and installed WSP Builder a second time, I can not seem to find the WSP Builder sub-menu anywhere under any of the Visual Studio 2010 menus. Can anyone throw some light on this "missing menu" problem?
I have combed these forums and the 'net and can't find an answer to my specific problem. My menu strip disappeared (after deleting a small secondary form within my project). I therefore created a new strip and while recreating the menu items realized that the original menu items are still present, showing in my properties list. I have checked my design file as well and the original menu strip is definitely gone but the original menu items are there. I don't have many items so I would have no problem just deleting the original ones but I can't see them to delete them! I have checked and they are all set to visible. I have also moved everything on my form to see if it is behind anything else.
Suppose I have ToolStripMenuItem mnuOrderOptions that contains the three drop down items. I want to copy all the items are their respective event handlers to Contextmenu on button click & then bound that context menu with the form.
Private Sub AToolStripMenuItem_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles AToolStripMenuItem.Click MsgBox("A") End Sub[code]....
how to clone the menu items and then bound it to form context menu.
I am wanting to create a menu based on items in my MS SQL database i have 3 tables
FormTbl
FormID - Int Eg (1)
FormName - nvarchar(50) Eg (Form1)
[CODE]...................
I can get the form names to be populated in to the menu and can open it my question is how do i set where the menu items will be placed. Eg File with FormHierarch 0 will be the very first one. Exit with FormHierarch 0.1 will be the very first one under File
Private Sub Main_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim menu As New MenuStrip() Dim dst As DataTable = User.MenuItems(Me.ToolStripStatusLabel1.Text)
I have a List(of String). For example: {"C1", "C12", "C10", "C1", "C6", "C22", "C1", "C6"}. I am trying to write a function to give me a list of duplicates: {"C1", "C6"} in the list. Each duplicate will be listed only once. The function I wrote does give me anything back at all. I can't figure out why. how to translate that syntax into VB.net since I am not up to speed on LINQ yet. It is here: How to get duplicate items from a list using LINQ?
''' <summary> ''' Given a List(Of String), returns a list of items that are duplicated in the list. ''' Each duplicate returned is unique.
I'm designing a web page with two dropdownlists, one for the Make of a car, the other for the Model, both bound to a database with separate SQLDataSources, and using a distinct statement. I add "All" at the top of both by setting appendDataBoundItems = true and adding items named all. Then when I fill the Make with a querystring all the model items get added twice (but only the databound items).
I am populating a combobox with data from a .txt file; however, there are 1000 entries but only 4 different possibilites 1, 2, 3, and 4. How can I have the combobox only allow a selection of the 1-4 with repeating all 1000 numbers?

I have to compile projects which was compiled in Visual Studio 6 in Visual Studio 2005. When i compiled i got a set of same error. I opened the project for VS6 by selecting File->open->project/solution and tried to build a solution by Build option but i am getting the following error.

I'm working on building my own UserControl that will display thumbnails. I've got the collection and the items that the collection holds working ok, and I've got a handle on how I'm going to display the information on the face of the UserControl. However, my problem is how to fire the Method that displays the thumbnail on the face of the UserControl when a new Item is added to the Collection?
I have a VB.NET project with XHEO licensing(to license a product) and for that I am using <projetname>.PLSK file which was added to the my solution. When I tried create a new .plsk instead of existing one I got a error while building. The error is like this. "The item "objRelease<projectname>.plsk" was specified more than once in the "Resources" parameter. Duplicate items are not supported by the "Resources" parameter. I am sure there is only one plsk file and when I tried to build with previous .plsk file got the same error. Where is that resource parameter are stored. How to delete that?
