I have developed small visual basic.windows forms application with VS2010 RC. I have a development SQL Server named RJHDEVELOP. I've added a data connection to this server and everything runs well. When I come to deploy it onto the factory server named CARRONSBS, how do I tell the deployment package I want to the dataconnection to be a different server name?
View 1 RepliesI'm adding a SDE feature class into ArcMap and before it adds in I have to click the ok button on the "Connection Details" Window. Is there a way to click the ok button by code? I was thinking maybe it could be done by using Window notification code (e.g. code below), however I'm not seeing any option for button click Ok or Cancel. Maybe it could be done by "Windows.Forms.DialogResult.Ok" somehow or by getting the focus of the ok button? [Code]

I have a datagridview on form1 but I don't want users adding data using datagridview, instead, I wanna use details view. So I created a form2, dragged and dropped details view on form2. I changed the Addnew on BindingNavigator to None and added a code to the Addnew click event handler to call the form2 out so that I could add data from there. But, when form2 loaded. the textboxes pulled out all the information from datagridview. I did not want that, I wanted all the textboxes to appear empty when it was loaded. so I deleted all the textboxes and added my own textboxes so that they appeared empty when form2 was loaded.

I'm trying to get a details view in ASP.NET to display the details of the logged-in user only. I have been told to use:

I thought this was too simple to be true and I was correct as it shows no data when I attempt to run.

i am trying to make a search criteria based on last name.i have dragged and dropped customer dataset as details view on my form and booking as gridview(customer id is foreign key in bookings table so now when i scroll through customer i could see the relaive booking history in grid view.). now i have many customer so i have to scroll down to look for a particular customer.i want to create a textbox where i can enter customer's last name and it should change the data of details view from current customer to the customer which is searched and also should change the related data in gridview aswell which is customer booking data.really need help plz..provide code if u can..here is wat i have done but no luck.

I am doing a similar form, but placing order form and orderDetail form in two separate tabs in a tabcontrol, and also using Details view for both tables. When I click "new" button in BindingNavigator, the orderID is automatically generated. If I use dataGridView for my orderDetail tab, then the orderDetailID is automatically generated when the mouse enters. This allow me to insert/update tables correctly. However I need the Details View for my orderDetail form too. How do I get a orderDetailID automatically generated when user insert a new order and have the mouse click on OrderDtail tab?
View 1 RepliesI have a problem reading data from an RFID-reader. I connect to the reader by tcp and wait for DataAvailable to be true, then reading the data until I got a end of data character. Then I just go back and waiting for a new DataAvailable. This is done in a own thread for the function.
There seems to be some kind of timeout, If I don't got any data in a couple of minutes, then it just sits there in the do/loop waiting for DataAvailable. I hold the card to the RFID reader, it beeps, but there is no data available. I don't get any exeptions, and the information says that the clientsocket is still connected. Are there anything more I can check?
If I put the card to the reader in a minute-interval it seems as this will never occur. So 2-3 minutes idle:ing seems to do this.

After several hours of searching the internet I could not find any Report Viewer tutorials that show a project that contains a parent/child report. I'm using rdlc report files.I can create a single report but we want to create a report that shows shows invoice header information followed by the invoice details followed by the next invoice header and details and so on.
If a sample project is not available, do you know of an online tutorial that shows how to do it?I saw something that might help on gotreportviewer.com about subreports, but it's in C# and not VB.Net so I could not figure out how it works.

I have a combobox that has a list of over 3000 vendors. The edit list that comes with combobox will only hold a little over 1700 lines, so I used the combobox1.items.add to the (form1 events - load) code. Now I have access to all 3000 + vendor names in the ComboBox1. But if I design an add vendor form, how would I code it, so the vendor would be added to the bottom of the items.add list in the code?
I don't know what I did now, but I managed to somehow have form1's properties show background color as black, but it is a light silver color and no matter what color I assign it, it will not change. right now form1 is empty of textboxes, labels, etc. There is code in it for my menu and the other forms.
