Multiple UI Thread - Show An Animated Loading Gif Image Till Data Loading Is Completed In All Text Boxes
Jul 13, 2009I have a window application develpoed in vs 2008, framework 3.5, in which i have put a button.. Now where i click that button the other text boxes are filled up with the data from database thru web service.. what i want is while all text boxes are being filled i want to show an animated loading gif image till data loading is completed in all the text boxes.. i have tried to use image picture box but while data is loading gif image is displyes but in static mode.. cant see animation... i think this is because data loading and animation both are done thru one UI thread..

May 4, 2011I have a vb.net 2008 application which has its corresponding icon.
The icon shows correctly except in the taskbar when the "small icon" setting is on.
My vb.net project includes a .ico file which when I see in the IDE includes 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64 and 256x256 bitmaps, in 4, 24 and 32 bits, also 3 .png images in 256x256 32 bits each.
I made the icon myself simply using a 64x64 bitmap and then converting it to .ico, and assigning it to the application in the project properties. I thought windows would use and escalate the corresponding image, it shows even in the file explorer properly in the small icon form, but not in the taskbar.
VS 2008 - Image Transparency - Loading A Bunch Of Pictures On Top Of One Image
Oct 14, 2009Ive been programming in VB6 for years, i figured its time for an upgrade. Here's what im doing, and what the problem is:
Im loading a bunch of pictures on top of one image. They are all PNG files, and some of the images have transparent edges, and some semi-transparency within the image itself.
So basically, i need to be able to load these images on top of the other images, and still maintain the transparency.
Is this possible in VB08? This is one of the main reasons i moved to 08 from vb6, more things possible including multithreading.
Creating Table At Runtime In .net, Image Control Doesn't Have Image Url Property?
Mar 10, 2010i am creating a table in vb.net code (htmltable) with htmltablerows and htmltablecell. I gave on image control but thatr control cant have the .imageurl property, which i need cause i have a handler image.ashx which brings image from the database.
heres' the code -

on the last line, "img.ImageUrl" i get this error -'ImageUrl' is not a member of 'System.Web.UI.HtmlControls.HtmlImage'how do i fix this?
Loading External Image On SSRS (Image Box)?
Jul 8, 2011I have a picture box on SSRS. I want to load a picture to it, for exam from D:\Pictures\TV1.jpg (actually user will decide it by using OpenFileDialog)I have set the Source to external and in Value expression I tired

Feb 10, 2009Im trying to show animated gif during busy process or loading. but it isn;t working rite. the gif stops to animate when loading instead and animates only when no loading is n progress. what i have done is to show formB from the formA. i load the gif into the picbox in formA and crete a new thread which will be opening another formB.

Clear A Picturebox So The Picture In It Doesn't Show Up?
Dec 11, 2011How do you make the image in a picturebox vanish when you change an option? I have tried a few different ways that i have seen but none have worked. I have it set so when i change an option in a listbox it will change the picture and data in other controls, however one option in the listbox has no data to fill in those controls and so gets left blank. However when i click on that option right now the images that were in the picturebox before get left behind until i click on another option that has a picture. So how do i remove the picture from the box?

Nov 14, 2010when people first run my program (as in the FIRST EVER time they run it), I want a window to popup (Form4). In this Form you have to locate a directory to a certain program (my program uses this program) and press OK, and then that will generate a .txt file with the directory to the program. (So that my program knows where that program is located.) Now, what I want it to do is when you open up the program, upon load (Form1), I want the program to check if that text file (directory.txt) exists. If it does and the path in the file is correct, the program will run fine. If the text file is missing and/or the directory doesn't exist, it will bring you back to Form4 (assuming that this is your first time running the program since the directory.txt file doesn't exist).

VB Help Doesn't Show Contents Or Search Results
Aug 17, 2010When I launch VB Help and do a search it shows under "Local Help", "Exception from HRESULT:0x8004032E". It lists three results under "MSDN Online", but the large field to the left of it is entirely blank. If I double-click blindly in that blank area it brings up various topics as if they were listed there but invisible. Further, the region under "Contents" is also blank, as is the "Filter by:" field. If I click the down arrow by the "Filter by:" field it brings up an entirely blank menu. If I then click outside the menu box it brings up a message saying "The selected filter contains an error that prevents it from being applied.". What's wrong and how can I fix it?

But the ProgressChanged event doesn't show progress until after the data has been downloaded.Even when I try and download a data which is contained in a big file. The programs remains responsive so I know it is doing something.However, it is when the progress has completed that the progressChanged event fires.I known this as the progressChanged and the DownloadDataCompleted fire immediately after each other. However, they should be a pause as the file is quite big.This is the code snippet I am currently using. And the output below
