When i create a windows form in VB, i want to have a picture box on my form, but in design view it shows the box, but when you run the program it doesn't show it. I want it to show the box so when you run the program it will show the box and you can click on the box and you can add the photo you want on your form and then print the form or save it.
View 4 RepliesHow do you make the image in a picturebox vanish when you change an option? I have tried a few different ways that i have seen but none have worked. I have it set so when i change an option in a listbox it will change the picture and data in other controls, however one option in the listbox has no data to fill in those controls and so gets left blank. However when i click on that option right now the images that were in the picturebox before get left behind until i click on another option that has a picture. So how do i remove the picture from the box?

But the ProgressChanged event doesn't show progress until after the data has been downloaded.Even when I try and download a data which is contained in a big file. The programs remains responsive so I know it is doing something.However, it is when the progress has completed that the progressChanged event fires.I known this as the progressChanged and the DownloadDataCompleted fire immediately after each other. However, they should be a pause as the file is quite big.This is the code snippet I am currently using. And the output below

I am trying to setup a treeview control to display all drives and folders on the PC. So far I can display all drives and folders but the images will not show except rarely. I am using an imagelist with 4 images (index 0-3). The code below is used to load the drives in the treeview control. I have tried using every type of image possible from bmp to png and nothing. I have tried the Appllication.EnableVisualStyles() which I now know isn't needed in vs 2008. I am also having problems with a picturebox in another form that shows nothing but a shadow of the image. I suspect this may be a setting somewhere maybe in vs 2008 but am not able to find one.

View 3 RepliesI have a dictionary (literally) database file in Access: its Fields are Headword (string) and Definition (Memo, it's in Rich Text). The Rich text looks fine in Access, but when I connect a Visual Basic (2008) Datagridview control to the database, the text looks like HTML, not RTF, and when I try to copy a specified "definition" into a RichtextBox, I get the same weird symbols, not RTF. One attached snapshot is how a record looks in Access, the other in a VB 2008 form with a datagridview control and an attempt to paste contents into a RichTextBox.
How can I get that same "look" from the RTF in the original Access file? I'm only recently moving from VB6; not a professional

I have a form that has several controls, most of them are textboxs. All controls are binded to a bindingsource. The controls that always have values, they are displayed correctly, but the others ones that have null values in the data source, the default null value doesn't show up. The web browser has a captcha on it.
I want the captcha to be shown on the form iteself.
Maybe in a picturebox or something. But it needs to be the current picture on the web browser.
I have looked around and I couldn't find anything that could achieve this.

I have one more problem with MonthControl.And when I bold some dates the program doesn't show bold dates on month calendar.When I move on next or previous month and get back to currently month the program normal displays bold dates. What's the problem?

I have a splash screen and want to test the loading bar. The % of loading are in 11 stages (0-100% in 10% intervals) and I have 11 different images. What i'm trying to do is set my picturebox.image = to the resource image and then wait 1 second then set picturebox.image to the next resource image. What i was doing is on the SplashScreen.Show method [Code]. What happens is that the picture box doesn't refresh with the image until the last image has been loaded from the procedure and the end of making the thread sleep completes. (this worked fine in VS2005). How can I make it load up the image, redraw the picturebox and then make the thread sleep for 1 second in VS2008.
View 4 RepliesWhen btnSetup is clicked, 7 rows with 24 colored predefined rectangles are displayed in the pbColors picture box as as intended. The controls on the first page of a tab control. I would like this display to remain intact when I change tab pages but when I return to this tab page the picture box is cleared. If I click the button, for some reason the group of colors is displayed twice, one after the other, instead of once as intended.

Just playing around with VB and have made a program for playing "pairs". The program displays lots of face down cards, then the user can click on them to reveal their face and try to find pairs. This is done by hiding or showing the "card reverse" picture
If the user finds a pair, the cards should stay face up, however if they do not match, they should be returned to facing down.
The pictures need to be loaded dynamically through an array...

But because of how many buttons I need I was wondering if it was possible to show the picture in a message, all the pictures are funny motivational posters from photobucket so I want the player to be able to read the dialog. When I create a dataset using these tables, designer doesn't show one-to-one relationship lines? It shows one-to-many relationship lines. Is this normal?
