Rich Text In Access Doesn't Show In DataGridView 2008?

I have a dictionary (literally) database file in Access: its Fields are Headword (string) and Definition (Memo, it's in Rich Text). The Rich text looks fine in Access, but when I connect a Visual Basic (2008) Datagridview control to the database, the text looks like HTML, not RTF, and when I try to copy a specified "definition" into a RichtextBox, I get the same weird symbols, not RTF. One attached snapshot is how a record looks in Access, the other in a VB 2008 form with a datagridview control and an attempt to paste contents into a RichTextBox.
How can I get that same "look" from the RTF in the original Access file? I'm only recently moving from VB6; not a professional

I am currently working with a datatable and I want to be able to show richtext in a column of the table. First question can this be done? I can force the column to be Type Of richtext box. However, when I try to view/display the table, I get something like..."System.Windows.Forms.RichTextbox, Text: Text That I have added" in the column.
Is there a way that I can get it to show the rich text in a cell of a datacolumn of a datatable?

I'm using a DataGridView that gets its data from table in Microsoft Access, one of the fields is a Short Time type record (e.g 16:00) but when the DataGridView is loaded it shows the record as "16:00 12/31/1899" and never shows only the ShortTime.

I am trying to create a viewer for files with large (sometimes over 2,000 characters) records. I want to use the rich text box control and show a given record in rows of 100 characters each. I have set the font to Courier New and sized the RTB appropriately to show the records correctly. However, if there is a record with 80 consecutive alpha characters followed by a space, then 120 consecutive alpha characters, the RTB separates the line at the space, as if there were a vbLF there. This happens in other cases, but I haven�t been able to figure out how the RTB decides when to break the line.

I have a user control that contains a search value text box a button, and a datagridview to display what the data adapter found. In the data set designer, I have an ODBC connection to a table, with two SQL queries defined FillByCustomerName(NAME), and FillByCustomerNumber(CUSTOMER_NUMBER). If I preview the data in the designer, I see the data expected. The datagridview doesn't show any data. The functions PopulateGridByName and PopulateGridByNumber do the work. I've tried adding a dgCustomer.show statement, The form that calls the user control has no codebehind code, and throws no errors.

I have a DataGridView on a form that displays historical notes about an item. I also have a Notes form where a user can add notes about an item. We would like to allow the user to format the note's text to highlight special situations, etc.
What is the best way to do this and is there a way to have this show up in the DataGridView control that lists historical notes?

I have a form that has around 4 txtboxes. Data is inserted into these boxes and then a "Save" Button is pressed. I have a GridView added to my form and want to view the entries. The issue I am having is that when I click the save button the data doesn't show up in the DataGridView until I close the application and then re open it.

When i create a windows form in VB, i want to have a picture box on my form, but in design view it shows the box, but when you run the program it doesn't show it. I want it to show the box so when you run the program it will show the box and you can click on the box and you can add the photo you want on your form and then print the form or save it.

I am using the DownloadDataAysnc. But the ProgressChanged event doesn't show progress until after the data has been downloaded.Even when I try and download a data which is contained in a big file. The programs remains responsive so I know it is doing something.However, it is when the progress has completed that the progressChanged event fires.I known this as the progressChanged and the DownloadDataCompleted fire immediately after each other. However, they should be a pause as the file is quite big.This is the code snippet I am currently using. And the output below

I am trying to setup a treeview control to display all drives and folders on the PC. So far I can display all drives and folders but the images will not show except rarely. I am using an imagelist with 4 images (index 0-3). The code below is used to load the drives in the treeview control. I have tried using every type of image possible from bmp to png and nothing. I have tried the Appllication.EnableVisualStyles() which I now know isn't needed in vs 2008. I am also having problems with a picturebox in another form that shows nothing but a shadow of the image. I suspect this may be a setting somewhere maybe in vs 2008 but am not able to find one.

I have a rich text box which I use in order the user is able to add pictures, coloured writing, different font etc... however I need to load specific text in the rich text box when the user load the Form.how I can add (I guess) the HTML to load this every time the user load the form.
P.S the text will change depending on who loads the form so I can not do a simple

I have a form that has several controls, most of them are textboxs. All controls are binded to a bindingsource. The controls that always have values, they are displayed correctly, but the others ones that have null values in the data source, the default null value doesn't show up. I have a rich text box and a fontDialog control. I am using it for the obvious purpose of changing the font of the text in the rtb, which I can do. What I would like to know is how, if there is no text selected inside the rtb, to make it only change the text that is typed after the change. I have already made it so that a selection can be changed independently but cannot make it change only text that is going to be typed if there is nothing selected.

I have a Rich text box in my program that works well for displaying a small screen and it never has had a cursor in it.I just added a couple of rich text boxes for some other parts of the same program, they are set up in properties EXACTLY like my original but there'sa cursor that's appearing on the 2 new boxes and I can't get rid of it.

1) On one of my forms i have a richtextbox but whenever the programs ads something like richtextbox1.text = richtextbox1.text & "New Entry" The box goes back up to the top and you need to re-scroll down to the bottum. Is there anyway i can have it to always go to the bottum when something is changed instead of reverting back to the top. Because things are added almost every 1-2seconds until it gets to the point where you cant scroll down to read what was said before something new is added and it jumps back to the top.
If you dont know what i mean make a timer of 1 second that ads somethign to the textbox and youll see what im talking about.
2)Or better still is there anyway to get the program to recive new lines from the textbox. Basicly I have a textfile which is read by around 4-8 clients. I want each client to know what its read so it can process the textfile but i dont want it to say add something like ' to the start of every line its read and ignore all ' lines because then the other client will ignore it to. So what im looking for is a sub that will process the textfile and put any previous unread lines (previous unread lines that session [i.e since program restarted]) into a string array like newline(1)

Hi, i'm trying to use the treeview to display the text of a rtf (rich text file) file when an specific node if clicked.HomeOMGWOOTFor example, if i pick OMG, i want the text of lol.rtf to be displayed on a richtextbox.
