I'm being forced to write VB code to be used from within ACCESS 2007.My desire is to use a leftover copy of Visual Studio 2005 to write a system that will use ACCESS 2007 as the db. The problem is that the company will no longer support Visual Studio and .Net development. That means that whatever code.I write must be accessible from within ACCESS 2007 for future maintenance.How do I import externally generated VB code (including forms) into ACCESS 2007, so that I can use ACCESS to maintain the code?I'll post this question to the ACCESS forum also, and hope that someone can save me from having to do all my development within ACCESS.

I am just trying figure out a record import program from text file into access database using Microsoft.Jet.Oledb Provider 4.0 and Vb.net. And it seems easy but my problem is different. In the text file, records are not delimited.
Format of the text file:
Field Name & Size
Date[Date,ShortDate]FirstName[20]LastName[20]Sex[1]Age[2]

Can I put delimiter programmatically while reading the text file using stream reader and later simply import the whole file in DB.
(currently working with an ERP Dev Tool), in order to do some migrations stuffs must read an excel file and do some transformations?
View 2 Replieshow to enable the "import" button when at least one of the checkboxes is checked.I have two buttons : "Deselect all" and "Select All" for the checking of the boxes, to import the specific files' data they want to Excel. (the files are in listbox, and the checked boxes is for selecting the files' parameters that they want to see in excel)
One option:When the user deselect all, the "import" button is suppose to be disable to prevent the user from importing the files' data parameters.
2nd option:(if i do not want to disable the import button) or show message that they have to select at least one box and at the same time, prevent the import button to work if there's no checked checkbox. So my deselect all button code :

but the button still remain disabled if I click "unchecked all" button and then checked at least one box. how do I enable it?And how do i...show error message and prevent the files' data to be imported when the user click "import" when there's no checked checkbox if I choose the alternative option of using message to alert them without disabling the button and yet prevent importing of data?
PS: If I did not click "deselect all" button but click the "select all" button, the import button is enabled and working.
My application needs to collect a list of all telephone numbers from a table in the company database. Running a COUNT on the amount of records that my SQL Query to get this information returns a total of 9,430,138 records. I've tried selecting DISTINCT values,but that doesn't even cut the count by 200 rows.The application needs to store this information in a .dat file that it will create after populating a DataSet. Unfortunately the CPU and Memory impact for this operation make this import literally painful. CPU shoots up to 100% and memory usage which, on this system, normally holds steady at 413mb during normal operation exceeded 1gb usage yesterday when I tested for the first time..Obviously, this is far too much for a single application to use during operation. I have no problem with the import taking a reasonably long time because this import is basically just a "snapshot" of the data. The data in the database shouldn't change very regularly, so I figure an import like this once every 2 months should suffice.
My problem is the amount of system resources this operation uses. How can I streamline it to minimize the impact it has? I'm OK with running multiple smaller queries to collect the information from the database, but don't know how to go about it.I executed the query live on the database, and it gets to around 6.5m rows before an OutOfMemoryException is thrown

I have created an ACCESS database and I am trying to connect to it, i have gone into the ODBC and created a User DSN, I am using VB2005. When I try to connect to the database using my connection string, I get the fllowing error message: {"Keyword not supported: 'dsn'."}Here is my connection string:

Im trying to read A .CSV file into the database.Every time at exactly 100 records the code seems to stop executing.Strange thing is, that when I step through the code manually, the code DOES run to the end...and a total of 403 records are imported.So NO errors are thrown, and no weird data is present in the row at which the code stops running (which makes sense, since the code is all executed when stepped through manually)[code]

I'd like to use ODBC rather than the Access' Import Wizard because I want to keep the possibility to change the format and/or delimiters of my files if necessary.I settled an ODBC Driver "Microsoft Access Text Driver" but when I try to open the connection in Access, I get the error "You cannot use ODBC to import from, export to or link an external Microsoft Office Access or ISAM database table to your database".This connexion works perfectly in Excel and enable me to get the data in an excel spreadsheet. My program outputs outputs a bunch of stuff to .csv files, which are destined to eventually be imported into MS Access. Now, everything works great except that I can't seem to figure out a way to save some DateTime variables that Access likes. First, I've tried using .ToOADate().ToString to print out the double that is used to represent the date. This actually works if I create a table in Access with all the columns and their types set, then append the data in the file to that. However, it does not work if I import the file as a new table and in the import wizard manually set the column type to Date/Time. I just get a type conversion error in that case.I've also just tried using .ToString to print out the string representation, but that also gives me a type conversion error during import.Is there a way to print my DateTime variable out so that it'll work both with creating new tables and appending to existing tables?

Now i'm coding for a project in VB.net that allow user to browse to text files (i am done), after that i have to import this text file into access.
The problem i have to import a pipe delimited file (it is: #), that '#' help to distinguish each filed.
Example: my text file is: #BC2323#23241#12345. This mean that: There are 3 fileds in it: BC2323; 23241; 12345.
