Indeterminate Status Indicator Bar Animated Image?
Mar 23, 2010
Does somebody know where i can get Microsoft's status indicator bar animated image that has a progress bar on it that when it reaches the maximum it goes the other way round.
You can find a small version of it in :c:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8Common7VS2005ImageLibraryVS2005ImageLibraryanimationsstatus_anim.gif and it is called
"Indeterminate status indicator bar".
I have a gif there are animated, and want to use thisas a background images on my formbut the image will not be show, instead it show the bagground colorCan't i use this file?
This code may be useful to someone. It's code I used to generate the code for this thread:How could i create an animated .gif file from several other .jpg files in c# express
Imports System.IO Imports System.Drawing.Imaging Public Class Form1
I was thinking is there anyway VB2005 can be done if I create an animation( car) such that its movement can me opearted using another external component(example a sensor).
I can't really figure out how to extract frames and what not from an animated image stored in a picturebox. I made a post earlier similar to this matter. But now I must ask how it is that you work with GetFrame and SetActiveFrame.
I have an application that connect to a database... and this process take a few minutes... and need to show an animated image or a message like "loading...." while the mainform is loading and connecting to the database?
Well after coding a very basic image viewing application all seemed well. All animated .gif files played beautifully, all .png, .jpg, .bmp, etc, initiated well. However I've now, for some unkown reason, hit a snag. The animated .gif files still play, but they crash after a few seconds of play. Providing this error:

Here is my
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click OpenFileDialog1.ShowDialog()

VB.NET, .NET 4 I am writing an industrial control front-end that has some "fancy" graphics to indicate the states of some machinery. For example, I indicate that some heaters are on by showing red wavy arrows emanating out from a picture of a heater. I accomplished this by creating a class that inherits from PictureBox and using a timer to advance the images:
Public Class AnimatedPictureBox Inherits PictureBox Private WithEvents Timer As New Timers.Timer Public Property Interval As Double [Code] .....
My question is "Is this an alright way to go about this or is there some obvious better way?" I'm not too good at programming and am worried that having several of these objects with their embedded timers taxing the CPU. I went with animated GIFs for some other animation stuff, but here, I wanted to be able to handle image formats that can handle a larger palette than a GIF (if that makes sense). In other words, when I tried to save some of my animations as GIFs, the image quality took an unacceptable hit.
I need some assistance and I'm beating my head against the wall. I have an application that uses a tri-state CheckedListBox. I use the three states for specific purposes:Checked means tech performed an action Unchecked means the tech didn't perform the action Indeterminate means that the tech didn't perform the action because it was unnecessary.
I need to be able toggle, with the mouse from Checked to Unchecked to Indeterminate to Checked as necessary. If I were using a CheckBox and ThreeState were set to True, this is exactly what would happen, but it appears that the only way to set the Indeterminate state in the CheckedListBox is through code.
I have a checkbox on my form chkActive, I want to deal with it in 3 cases. [Code] I don't have a problem with building the query, my problem is with clicking on the checkbox by clicking on the checkbox by mouse, I can only get Checked and Unchecked, I tried to use the right mouse button click, it did not fired (or I did not test deep enough) I know I can put a button to change the checkbox value to Indeterminate but that will be ugly. I can replace checkbox with combo, which is what i am thinking of doing but I just wonder: Cannot I set the checkbox state to Indeterminate by mouse any how?
I have a window application develpoed in vs 2008, framework 3.5, in which i have put a button.. Now where i click that button the other text boxes are filled up with the data from database thru web service.. what i want is while all text boxes are being filled i want to show an animated loading gif image till data loading is completed in all the text boxes.. i have tried to use image picture box but while data is loading gif image is displyes but in static mode.. cant see animation... i think this is because data loading and animation both are done thru one UI thread..
Now for a succesful insertion i want to notify the user about a successful save operation.....i.e,i want to display a message "Successful Save Operation"to the user. How to do this using the Status Strip?
I've got the code to display the current browser status text in the status bar but i want it to display the name of my web browser aswell. Example: Dreamincode.net - (Name of Webbrowser)
He is my code for the displaying staus text. Private Sub webBrowser1_StatusTextChanged( _ ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) _ Handles webBrowser1.StatusTextChanged
I am writing a utility and using the ftpwebrequest. I am wanting to add a progress indicator to help the user know about how much time is left on the upload.
Code: Private Sub UploadFTPFile() Const filePath As String = "C:" Const fileToUpload As String = "1.txt" Const ftpServer As String = "ftp://xx.xx.xx.xx"
I need some advises on showing digital signal indicator at this moment I use radio button...but it's then becoming complicated because I have to make them "true" or "false" anytime.
Almost at the final hurdle of version 1 of my project. What i'd like to have is two indicators based on red and green lights Check for net connection and show green if available, red if not When sending data to mysql DB show green light I'm not sure if its possible but so far I have established this for the mysql data send but the data sends so quickly it changes like lightning.
my final year project title is monitoring weight changes in digital scale / indicator.i bought one digital scale online from A&D in order to test out my system.however unlikely other device (GSM MODEM, RFID...) there are no drivers or libraries (DLL) from this device.. with only the digital scale and (rs232 9-pins to usb convertor i bought) i was like lost wondering how to get communicate with the device.i have been search around in the internet for similar post.. but there are most likely dealing with the data receiving already. is there any journals or manuals for references? i willing to study over this and not simply ask for full codings.
- how to communicate with the device (serial port communication)
- is there any driver / libraries need to install bfore everything?
OS using - windows 7 ultimate (laptop)model of device - A&D JM-SERIES 150lb
I'm using the following code to reorder rows, it does work but i can't find a way to implement any indicator that shows me where the row will be droped, is it possible to do? It seems that the handler DragDrop is blocked until the mouse is released..vb.net
I'm using VB 2008 and windows vista. I'm using a listview in my application.(view=details) I assign an image list to listview.smallimagelist. when user try to sort the listview by clicking the column header i use the imageindex property to set an icon for that column header, this works fine. When user clicks another column to sort the listview by that, I use listview.columns(PreviousColumnIndex).imageindex=-1 to remove the sort order icon from the previously selected columnheader, but it does not remove the picture from the previous columnheader. How should I remove the icon(picture) from the previous column header?
After a long time searching, I am still facing an issue with my listview column header I am trying to add a sort indicator (a small 16x16 arrow, next to the column title - looks quite good).
- My listview is in Ownerdraw mode for : Items & Subitems for a couple of reasons
- So far, I was letting the system do the job for the header (e.drawdefault = true)
I managed to add very easily the arrow using the e.graphics class, right after the e.drawdefault=true, and it is actually working good.
As you can see, I'm simply using a resource, and am forcing it to 16x16 with a custom location x=34 pixels y=2pixels My issue comes with the following :
The arrow wont draw Of course the sort indicator will sometime be on the 2nd column etc.. That's why I need to use the column header's bounds.I can already hear you saying : if you do not owner draw, you can't..But why is it working with a static location (, 34, 2, 16, 16) ans not starting from another static location (e.bounds.x) How can I fix that ? I cant find previous issues similar to that one over the internet.
Points of interest :
- I tryed to load the int value e.bounds.x into a variable before, using that instead of e.bounds.x but it's all the same.
- Using the imagelist is not an option, As you can tell from the screenshot, I am already using images for headers.. the sort indicator is coming as another image
- Using ">" or "<" in the header's text is not an option either........ (sorry pal It does not look good at all..)
- Drawing the header totally in owner draw mode would be an option, but it looks quite hard to do (need to manage the "rounded" header style of the system, the mouse over - small yellow line rounded on the sides in WinXp, the click effect....).
Does anybody know where to find a component for Visual Basic 2005 or 2008 that allow me to create level indicator, button, display or other special box used on a bridge of a ship? I want to simulate a small bridge of a ship and I need something that allow me to show engine power, rotation speed, level of pressure, compass and so on.
I have been given a project to update software written in Visual Basic. The software and some files are enclosed in a folder and was written 3 years ago. I have no clue what to do. All I have been asked to include more controls. The user interface allows user to select three processes by clicking on the buttons on user interface. The new requirements is to add two more buttons. There is not much information so I have to use only the resources available. When I tried to open the project, visual studio prompted to convert the project so its compatible with current version. I could open the project but dont know what to do from there. Please guide me towards the right direction. If the project folder is required please advise me how to attach it too.
I have a gridview in which when I click edit, update, and cancel button comes. I have a variable named status. If status=false then update should change to insert and if status=true then update should be update itself.
I saw the other poster with his issue but I didn't want to hijack his thread so i'll start a new one.I'm trying to add an animated Gif to my form and when I run it I just get the following error.
A generic error occurred in GDI+I've tried several animated gifs and they all do it.
I've just got a picturebox on the form. and the following code
