I've got this code. But I keep getting an INSERT INTO error when I try to insert a new field into the database

I want to insert (store) a Word 2007 document into an SQL database field. I've previously done this with PDF files into an 'image' datatype field without problems. I can add the original document and retrieve it for viewing using Filestream as follows:
To add the file (where 'strPdfFile' is the file and 'myImageBuffer' is added to the field)

This also works with a Word .doc file (substituting the file extension). With a .docx file however, when taking the ByteArray back out of the database and re-creating the document, there is a problem opening it with Word 2007. An error message says the file is corrupt but offers to recover the file, which it does successfully.
I know docx is OpenXML but in this case I'm not interested in the data structure (as such), I just want to store it. I guess I should be using a different method (Serialization?) but not sure which. I would also like to keep the field DataType (image) if I can.

I am trying to insert data into my database but because i have relationships in the database, i can't enter data into one unless the other has been entered but i can't also do all that at the same time.This is the error i get: You cannot change values of this column because it is related to another table, what do i do and what is the next best option if i don't want to use "autonumber" but want to make sure i don't repeat numbers. How do i implement that?

I'm working on a form that allows to add new users to a users table in my Access database. The table only has 3 fields: user (string), password (string) and admin (boolean). user is the primary key. But when I run it and try to add, I get an error when casting the query to Double (?). I don't have any double variables or table fields, and I'm not trying to cast anything from or to double. I need to check if a Commodity entered into (TextBox1.Text) already exists on my table before i insert it. I'm having issues checking if the number of rows returned from my Select is equal 0? I have a couple of textfields in a Windows form. One of these textfields is allowed to be NULL. When I enter a value for every field, it is all inserted, no problem. When I leave the field (txtGewicht) blank, I can't seem to be able to insert NULL in Access Database.
If Double.TryParse(txtGewicht.Text, 0) Then

This is what I get:
"Cannot set column 'Gewicht' to NULL, please use DBNull instead"
So I changed 'Nothing' to DBNull.value, but it then tells me that System.DBNull cannot be converted to type Double.

I want to change the DoNotMail boolean value represented by a Gridview checkbox and automatically update in the database if the checkbox is checked from 0 (False, Will Mail) to 1 (True, Won't Mail) here is the code I used. [code]...
is it possible to do a two way sync on the entire gridview when the user hits a button so you don't have to do an update every time a row is changed? because the user might check the box and then check another box then uncheck a box and it would be a lot of updates...

I am creating a database in VB.NET for a movie rental place. I currently have three forms;
Member Information
DVD Information
Borrow DVDs
What I would like to do is when I am viewing a member's details, if I click a button 'Borrow DVD for Member', the member's ID number transfers over to the Borrow DVDs table in the Member ID which also would hold some information from the DVD Information table, but I'm sure if i can figure out how to do this firstly, I will be able to apply the same rule and work it out myself.I have been trying to use a query statement like;
INSERT INTO [Borrow DVDs].[Member ID] [IN goodstuffvideos.mdb]
SELECT [Member Information].[Member ID]
FROM [Member Information]
but that has been coming up with error codes and completely not working.
Borrow DVDs table fields are: Borrow ID, Member ID, DVD ID Number, Hiring Fee, Borrowing Limit?
DVD Information table fields are: DVD ID Number, Title, Rating, Hiring Fee, Borrowing Limit Member?
Information table fields are: Member ID, Family Name, Given Name, Address, Town/Suburb, Postcode?
The error coming up is; Error in INSERT statement. Unable to parse query text.And under that it says The query cannot be represented graphically in the Diagram and Criteria Pane.

My problem is when I try adding a new appointment I get an error that says ""Column 'AppID' does not allow nulls."" Editing existing appointments is fine and it updates the DB no problem. I don't have an INSERT statement right now (which might be the issue) so I was thinking of doing this: INSERT INTO [tablename] ( [column1], [column2], ... ) VALUES ( [value1], [value2], ...) Only problem with that is I would need to use the textbox names for the VALUES, and that form that pops up to gather appointment info is from a third party, and I can't find the names of any text boxes

I have checked that the values being passed as parameters to the function are valid. I was curious as to whether I was formatting the OleDbCmd correctly, which is why i added a message box function to show be the value of the connection string which at runtime is: when they're not being added to the db?

I am having problems with inserting into my sql database my program is as follows:[code]So when I enter my data, into my program, it goes perfectly until it gets to "dim num as integer = cmd.ExecuteNonQuery" and then it comes up with an error saying "Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement.".i am also doing an update function which is pretty much exactly like this, except for the sql command of course, and that works perfectly with this code.[code]I have noted that instead of"replace" it should be "insert" but am now getting another error where it says "Conversion from string "#PlayerNo#" to type 'Integer' is not valid."

So I have the following that seems to work fine in MS SQL Server management Studio and seems (but isn't) to be working as its doing a re-direct to another page after the insertion of data...Basically, I pull in all the data from the text boxes and hidden fields, convert that info to strings and do my insert statement. Now in MS SQL SMS The following insert statement works:
insert into [Contacts].[dbo].[contactInformation] values ('Adam', 'john', '16', '' , '' , 'm', '', '');
You can tell from the above which are allowed and which are not allowed to be null. any ways. Why is this not inserting data into my database? is it because of

I am trying to add a new row into a gridview but for some reason i'm having a problem in the for loop.Directly goes to dtCurrentTable.Rows.Add(drCurrentRow) and of course, have an error "'row' argument cannot be null.Parameter name: row", because the tcurrentTable.NewRow was not executed.
