Interface Methods With Handles - Display The Current Count

I have a small application that consists of multiple forms that each need to have the ability to be updated (not repainted, the data/components values redefined) when called to. So for instance, if I had a form that contained a count of some sort and another form modified that count I would need to update the form that displays the current count. With that being said it needs to implement an interface with these methods (see below). My issue comes when I want to add events to these methods so if I call the UpdateData event it would trigger the OnDataUpdate method, but because of the syntax of implementing methods and handling events you cannot do so.

I have a 500K+ lines vb.net app, written by 10+ different devs over the past 5 years. Many times it gets the system time and/or date and relies on it.Now I have to re-run real cases thru the program for regression testing purposes, and it screws up cases where the date/time matter. My fix is easy, just replace all the areas in the program that get current date/time with a sub that gets the current date/time, UNLESS I'm testing, in which case it will return the date/time of the original run. I have tried searching the sourcecode for the obvious 'current date/time' functions:
Now
DateAndTime.TimeOfDay
Date.ToDay
However, if I miss one, I LOSE.list more ways to get the current time, that might be hidden in the source code, that I can search for? Note: It's pretty clear none of the 3rd party libs in this system are returning date, well, one is, but I've caught it.

I am a C# programmer but I have to work with some VB.Net code and I came across a situation where I have two methods on an interface with the same name but different method parameters. When I attempt to implement this interface in a class, VB.Net requires explicitly declaring "Implements MethodName" after the method signature. Since both method names are identical, this is confusing the compiler. Is there a way to get around this sort of problem? I suspect this must be a common occurrence. Any thoughts?
N.B. This was more a case of the programmer not verifying that the interface in question had not changed from underneath him.

So I implemented my own form of Enum static classes so I can associate strings to enumeration values. One of the shared functions in each enum class, GetValue, is used to quickly look up the string value from an internal array via the offset. While all of the enum classes implement the same exact function, the data types of their parameters differ, specific to the enums in each class.
So I come to a point where I want to create a generic class that can use any of the enums by passing it as a generic type parameter. But I cannot find a way to constrain type T in such a way to be able to call each enum's GetValue function. This is where an interface would come in handy, but VB.NET forbids interfaces for shared methods.
I have a base class that I could constrain to, but the base class doesn't implement the GetValue method, and I can't define a generic version of it, because I need to rely on shared properties of each child class in order for GetValue to do its thing.[code]..

I have an object (MyObj) that itself will hold a List of other objects of various types and I want to count them as they are added to MyObj.That's the simple explanation, anyways...I have an Interface (MyInterface) that all sub-objects agree to. MyObj has a List(Of MyInterface) property that all the sub-objects are added to. MyInterface will expose a property that lets me figure out what subtype each object is (the sub-objects do not inherit from MyObj at all).
But I want to count these sub-objects as they are added to the list, and I'm trying to find a good way to do it. I don't need to worry about decrementing the count, as I am going to mimic the behavior of String and just create a new instance of MyObj if it ever changes, so all my counts will start from 0. This'll hit the garbage collector a bit, but I think this will allow for simpler (and safer) code. The only sane way I can think of to count objects is a very large structure in MyObj that uses bytes to hold the count (I will never have more than 255 of any given sub-object in the list in MyObj). But, even using bytes, this structure will be about 100-200 bytes big in memory (I have that many sub-objects), and I anticipate having a fair amount of MyObj copies running around, too.
I'll also need a large Select Case to know which count property to increment when a new sub-object is added. This seems to be a bit ugly, though I've used this approach several times already.What I am wondering is, instead of counting each object as it is added to the list, is there some way to query the list and count only the objects of a specific type? I wouldn't need to store this anywhere, since it would be dynamic, like querying a database and asking for a count of a specific column or type of record.I suspect Linq can do this, but Linq is also quite slow. Are there other approaches? Perhaps a predicate of some kind?VB (I am not a C# guy):

I need to be able to count the number of pictureboxes whose image is not "nothing". At first, this seems really simple (and it probably is) but I'm unable to see a way to access the array I created. I am having a problem using ADO 2.8 and SQL Server 2000.Im using the SQLOLEDB Provider and when Im trying to set the Index by using the code below i receive the ffg error...Error 3251 : Current Provider does not support the necessary interface for Index functionality..I have to use SQL Server as our Access databases are quite large...Does the index and seek function even work with ADO and SQL Server 2000?...I am migrating from DAO to ADO to use SQL Server and Im trying not to change the existing code so I need to use the Index and Seek functionality as it has been used everywhere...There are no links between any tables so I am accessing the table directly.

I am trying to make a simple form that will display a count when the users clicks a button. I want the count to be readable as the program loops the math. So as it adds 1 + 1, 1 + 2, 1 + 3, ect... I want each loop to display in the label. Below is the basic code I came up with, but I can not figure out how put a delay of something like 100 milliseconds in the loop. The idea is for the slower version of the basic count console app you learn in school and I basically need to slowdown the math and display the sum as the loop loops.

I've been working with my project. I make a quiz and I put check value for every label. If the user is correct the label with shows or else the label is in a hide status. My problem now is how do I count those labels to display his/her result. If there are 3 labels shown in the form in automatically the user got 3 points and that "3" with be put into a textbox...

I am new to Visual Basic and I am having some problems with a programming challenge. The user is told to enter their city, state, and zip into a textbox seperated a certain way (Ex. City, State. Zip). The program is supposed to display the City, State, and Zip in three seperate label boxes broken up. So far the code that I wrote for the button click event displays the count up to where a comma is found (City). Im not sure how I would display the word instead of just the count. Also, finding the state and zip after the City is found. I know I have to use the IndexOf method as well as the Substring method.

I use Visual Basic 2005.I'm making a web browser,First of all, I want to know how to make the URL TextBox display the current URL. For example, if you're on url...I want to make it so that the text box displays the url you're on, not the one you typed in. Second, I need to know how to make the web browser go to the home page when started up. I am currently building a search page, which includes a textbox and two drop-down lists, a search button, and a datagrid. If results are found and displayed, I would like a label to display:

I'm making an app on wpf.Basically, I have a list view with 6 columns,For each item of the listview, its details are displayed are displayed in each of the columns, except the first.Basically I want the listview to automatically display a count of the items for the 1st column.[code]I have sorting and other weird stuff happening in the app, and I want to keep the first column constant.
