Invalid Page Requested During Lifecycle Of Another Page Request

Clicking on a link button on a page causes Postback to a page containing a number of controls. [code]During the Postback to (page a) on the server, (page d) is requested when using the IE browser (doesn't happen in Firefox) there are absolutely NO artefacts requested that live on (page d), there are no response redirects or server transfers or anything referencing (page d).The only thing I have seen like this is when an image or artefact is requested and cant be found, or some pathing issues for an image, and this somehow screws the request up.
I am working on a custom framework above the .NET framework, and some instructions are not written / called at the good places. For example, a postback is done on the same page. Then, a Response.redirect occurs right within the page_load; but at this point, the new values of the controls of the page are not yet handled, so they get lost...
Therefore, I wanted to know whether it was possible to force the pagelife_cycle to go forward before the call to response.redirect, so that I can get the right values.
I can't just make that call in another function, because the page I am working on is called by many web applications (about 1-2k), and it would completely change their behaviour, which is not acceptable!
I wrote a page Page method in my aspx page. in web service method I need to call FindControl method return textbox and get text box value. But my findControl will take MasterPage object to iterate.

I have a master page which contains everything that inherits it within a form. A page inheriting from it needs to run some javascript to act on a text field on a page. However, I can't seem to reference that text field through the javascript, since the form begins on the master page. The following line will come up bogus: document.form1.txtFindUser.value = blah.responseText; This is because form1 is defined on the master page, while txtFindUser is on the current page.

Does anyone know why a Page_Load would be called twice on a page when requesting an aspx page?I am using .Net 2.0 with the new .net 1.1 compilation model installed. Whenever I request a page, the Page_Load on the aspx page appears to be called twice, so does the Page_Load on and user controls added to that page.

I have a need for a button to take the user back to their previous page.Because of how this page is accessed, the only way to do this is with javascript using history.back()
This part works perfectly apart from the fact when a user goes to click a button on the page they have gone to back to, I get the error that Request.QueryString is not supported in this context.I'm guessing the Request object is lost when javascript is directing the user to the previous page.I cannot use Request.UrlReffer either because the the nature of the back button. (it causes a loop at times).
The thing is i have a Master page and a Content Page. I have a LoadComplete in Content Page and a PreRender in Master Page. The problem is one of my htmlcontrols on content page i change on the LoadComplete event server side of the content page. I also have some code for disabling controls on the Master Page PreRender event. For some reason all controls on the aspx side go through the Master Page prerender except the ones that i change on the LoadComplete side. How can i make sure the entire content page loads and then the Master Page PreRender event is called, making all the controls go through that event.
how to get http url request made by ajax page in webbrowser control?? i am navigating one ajax website in my webbrowser control. on one webpage there is one button which when click send http request to page, but this request is ajax, i want to capture that url whose request is send after clicking. is it possible. i think its possible coz when i use http debugger utility in mozzila called "HttpFox" it display that url.
i try to hack dom of webpage and scrap url form it but i found that the url is created by javascript variable.
I'm having some issues with an Invalid Viewstate error and I can understand why it's happening but I don't know how to fix it so I'm hoping someone can help.
I have a page which is similar to this /story/?id=123 but I'm using a different page to Server.Transfer to this page.
So I've set up /info to Server.TransferRequest("/story/?id=123") and it works fine until the page does a postback to itself.
We have a login form on this page which simply reloads the page but when it does it seems to add /?id=123 onto the end of the URL so it ends up like this /info/?id=123 thus causing an Invalid Viewstate error.
I've already tried adding EnableViewStateMac="false" - this fixes the error but it doesn't log the user in as expected so it does not give the required result.
Is there a better way to redirect to my page other than Server.TransferRequest but still keeping the nice URL? - I don't want to response.redirect if I can avoid it.
I have a web page that I need to log in, the first page is not a problem I can log in as it only has the company name to enter, but from here is where I have problems, as when the first page is done, I am directed to a second page with two fields that has to be filled, filename and author, then depending on the action you have to click on in button,out,button delay button, here is where I need help, how do I fill the second page fields and how to chose the right button depending the action to take.

I have an asp.net website that is using update panels on the page that i cant get to reload from the server. I have this for the disable page cache on the master page.
When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.
I have a form with a Tab Control that has 18 pages. When I click on a tab it opens the page and select a textbox on that page (txtTextbox1. Select() ). This works for the first 8 pages but not for the remaining 10 pages. Although on these pages I can mouse click on the textbox, enter info, save then click my Add button that clears the textboxes and has the code (txtTextbox1. Select() ). The textbox is selected just fine. The code for all my pages is the same except for the tab name and the control names. The tab key will move the selection to the next textbox in order on all pages and the Enter key is coded to do the same. The first 8 pages have a total of 256 labels, buttons, list boxes, textboxes and checkboxes on them.

I am trying to check all the checkboxes on a webform (aspx) page, which is inside a master page,depending on the ID of the checkbox. The checkboxes are created dynamically, so I only know the prefix for finding it. So, I need to find these checkboxes by iterating the controls on the page somehow. It's not working out.

If someone puts in a username and password, username= a and password=b, for example it still allows that individual to view the next page and doesn't throw the error that i have enbedded on the login page to say sorry you have the incorrect password/username. I have a user control that checks if a certain query string and session value are present then returns a boolean based on that, if it's true I want to set the master page. The page is throwing an Object reference exception when it tries to call the method EditUser1.UserAuthorization(). Why is this happening? I have a parent page and child page, both aspx. All is working, but now I would like to close child page, if user leaves child popup page and goes back to parent page and clicks on something else like page index of Gridview. I CANNOT close popup child page if user goes to another app, or some other location, I only want to close if something on parent page is changed.
I have the PageIndexChange Event set up for other purposes, I would just like to add some functionality, perhaps a script manager to close the child popup page if the Gridview index is changed, java or another way which ever works best.I think I might also need to check if the child page is even open.
I'm trying to retrieve a custom Attribute set on a page's class from inside the MasterPage. Normally to do this I would need to reflect directly on the specific class, but inside the Master page it's always referred to as the Page type (the parent class). How do I determine the specific type of the Page property?

but it only ever returns the attributes attached to the actual Page class.
I'd rather not have to derive a new base type from Page if I can avoid it.
