I am trying to build an Encryption/Decryption class/extension. I am able to encrypt the data no problem, but when I try to decrypt the data I am getting "Length of the data to decrypt is invalid."
Here is the entire class file.
Imports System.IO
Imports System.Text
Imports System.Text.Encoding
Imports System.Security.Cryptography
Imports System.Runtime.CompilerServices
Imports System.ComponentModel
[Code] .....
I'm trying to decrypt some data but I get this error: Padding is invalid and cannot be removed. It highlights the _streamWriter.Close() line. This is the code I'm using to decrypt a file:
where I was encrypting the string and passing it to another web page to decrypt and get the ids to be displayed as a pdf back to the page. I kept getting an invalid "Invalid length for a Base-64 char array". It was then I realised that the string was getting truncated and that the IE Explorer had a size limit for the number of charaters being passes as a querystring. So I think I need to go the route of posting it.But not sure how to go about it.
Private Sub GetReport() Try Dim hawbs As String = String.Empty[code]....
The retrieve document then does: the decrpytion gets the data(ids) and pulls the pdfs.
My program gets an encrpyted query string ,decrypts it and then pulls the pdfs in a popup window depending on the values in the string. The issue I am having is I have around 500 ids that I am passing whose pdfs need to be generated, but I keep getting the "Invalid length for a Base-64 char array".
Not sure what I need to do, I have read through the solutions and have done whatever has been said, with replacing the blank with the "+" but I cannot get this to work.
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load _CurrentProcName = "Page_Load"
Im having a problem in my coding. I am doing a username and password application (sumtthing like a password keeper).
So I have created the interface and i integrated vb 2008 with sql server 2008. So the adding of account and password all went fine.
I have applied aes 128 bits for the password. that means when the user enters a new record for example an email and he click save, the password will automatically be encrypted before it is saved in the database.
now im having a problem where when i want to display the password in the gridview of vb.net (i decided to use grid view to show all the username and password), i am having trouble in decrypting the password column to show the real password to the user.
of course user cant decrypt the password using their brains. so I want to know how to choose dat particular column (password column) and decrypt it before it appears in the gridview.
bcoz now it is appearing gibberish i.e. aes 128 bits. Below i show u some snippet of my codes in encrypting and storing it in the database. [code....]
What are the best way to encrypt and decrypt stream of data ?I would like that my program read a file.. and unencrypt it in memory then when it save it.. it encrpyt the stream and save it.
Here's an interesting problem, and I'm looking for a pattern that will keep it all workable. I am building a smart-client app for a school system. It will contain information about students including their report cards, sick days, and so forth. it will generate student-level reports, including their report cards, each rich with very personal commentary by their teachers. The app will retrieve data from the remote server via web services.
My console errors out when I enter anything other than a number or operators in the designated (input). I stink at this stuff but I have been t this for about 8 hrs. still not there. I have included a text file for the task at hand
I'm using WMI code and VB 2008 to see NIC status. So far the queries are working, but the methods aren't. For example, I'm trying to set a network card to use DHCP, I get invalid function with this code:
Dim classInstance As New ManagementObject("rootCIMV2", "Win32_NetworkAdapterConfiguration.Index='7'", Nothing) Dim outParams As ManagementBaseObject = classInstance.InvokeMethod("EnableDHCP", Nothing, Nothing)
I am generating this with asp.net (vb.net) from data stored in a database. I think I need to somehow escape the double quotes within the content section of the json data. How do I do this?
End WhileI am trying to read from the ": " to the end of the line. I keep getting this error: Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name: length
In a nutshell...I have developed a site in ASP.Net and VB.Net which allows a user to create an order and submit it to a SQL Server backend database.
When the order is placed...an xml file is also produced, showing the items that have been ordered...which is then loaded in to a program to update stock quantities.
The code I have is as follows:
Public Sub butSubmitOrder_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles butSubmitOrder.Click Dim sqlConn As New SqlConnection
I am developing an test application to read the data coming on serial port sent by the pabx. It is working fine. But, for some reason , i don't know why, some invalid characters are coming in the data, something like '?'
I am not sure why this code doesn't work. I have follow according to the table field data and it I am still unable to get the SQL Datareader to work. I have checked the tables and all datafields, everything is correct. But I still am unable to read data from the database.
Dim connectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("CleanOneConnectionString").ConnectionString Dim myConn As New SqlConnection(connectionString) myConn.Open() Dim cmd = "Select * from [Member] where Email = @Email" Dim myCmd As New SqlCommand(cmd, myConn) [Code] .....
I'm getting Invalid column name 'CHARLES'. Invalid column name 'CHARLYN'. Invalid column name 'SMITH'.what's wrong with my code, it's been a long time since I used SQL dataset. I'm into LINQ but I'm having problems with this kind of LINQ query so I'm reverting to SQL dataset.here's my code:
'Set up a data set command object. Dim sSelectColumn As String = ("SELECT * FROM tblScanned WHERE LastName=" & sLastName & " AND FirstName =" & sFirstName & " AND MiddleName =" & sMiddleName)[code].....
It seems the most obvious thing, but I just can't work out how to get the length of bytes sent over a network using a TCPClient and TCPListener? This is my code so far:
'Must listen on correct port- must be same as port client wants to connect on. Const portNumber As Integer = 9999 Dim tcpListener As New TcpListener(IPAddress.Parse("192.168.2.7"), portNumber)
[Code]...
I need to get the length of the networkstream to set the size of the array of bytes I'm going to read the data into. But the networkStream.length is unsupported and does not work and throws an Notsupportedexception.
The only other way I can think of is to send the size of the data before sending the data, but this seems the long way round.
Dim n As Double, i As Integer n = 4 Dim Ramp_length(1 To 4) As Double For i = 1 To n Ramp_length(i) = Cells(13 + i, 5) 'Cells(65 + i, 7) = Ramp_length(i)' Next i
Is there a way I can reproduce the result without declaring the array with a "fixed" length? I eventually want the code to read off a column of data with unknown length and store it in an array of equal or smaller length so it can be altered.
I need to be able to look at Offset 14 and Length is 1B. I need to be able to look at bit 0 - bit 5. I have NO idea how to read data like this so I wish I could be more specific but I can't. Can someone tell me how to read the specific bits and translate them? I have no idea how to google this. So if someone wants to point me to a search pattern. That would be awesome too.
Here is a chart that describes the bits:
bit 0 : Light LED (head) status, 0: OFF, 1: ON bit 1 : IR-Radar power status. 0: OFF, 1: ON bit 2 : IR-Radar detector status: 0: fine, 1: barrier detected. bit 3-5: Charger staus 0x00 : nothing happen 0x01 : charging completed. 0x02 : in charging 0x04 : something wrong, error occur. bit 6,7: undefined, do not use.
I have a field displaying on a datagrid that the user has asked to be variable length based on the data that is returned. Is there an easy way to determine how many characters are returned for a field and then converting that to a pixel length so that I can change the length of the field in the code.
Oddly enough, I've worked around this issue, but it's still annoying me. I worked around it by sending too-long writes, with padded zeroes; the code works but sends a few hundred unnecessary bytes. Specifically, I need to send exactly 992-byte packets instead of 7 or 19-byte packets
A string can contain from 0 to approximately 2 billion (2 ^ 31) Unicode characters. Does this mean the length field for the string is a 4 byte unsigned binary field, or is it a 4 byte signed binary ?
