View 14 RepliesI have declared a webbrowser control on my form and assigned a URI to it upon load. This works fine and the webbrowser.documenttext is set to the html of the document. What I need to do is on the second run through of the program it needs to refresh the page to check if the code is still the same. I have the following code set but it appears as though after a refresh it is not working because if the code is changed it still sees the old code in webbrowser.documenttext.
browserRedgis.Refresh()
browserRedsnap.Refresh()
browserParks.Refresh()

I am looping through a HTML email flyer, iterating the images in the HTML document, uploading these images to a server and then using the setattribute() method to rewrite the images to point to the server copy rather than the local copy.
All of this works fine! However, i'm then trying to write the new underlying HTML code to the same file (overwrite) and the documenttext property of the webbrowser control doesn't seem to contain my update attributes. This is strange as when right clicking each image on the web browser control itself, I can see that the new image location has been set correctly.
Do I need to somehow 'refresh' the documenttext property or something? How can I acccess the new HTML code of a web browser control after the point at which I have change some attributes of certain HTML tags?
I wrote a VB.Net application that displays HTML help files according to user's search results.A user types some keywords and receives a list of HTML help files containing these keywords.When a list item is selected the HTML file is displayed in WebBrowser control.The problem is that I cannot mark the keywords in the displayed HTML file. I need to highlight them like in a standard Help. I tried many options and nothing works.If I change HTML element style manually (background color for a specific string) all pictures attached to this page are not displayed. After "Refresh" operation the pictures are displayed but the text selection is not enabled.I hope there is a standard function for this operation but I cannot find it.

View 5 RepliesI have several text boxes (1-4) that I need to limit to ONLY numbers.
I need a minimum value of 1 and a maximum value of 99999.
I just don't want letters or special characters ($,#,%,@) to be allowed. Numbers only.
I want to limit the Textbox to a range of characters in VB. For example, I want the user to enter strings from 5-7 characters. I know how to limit the Textbox to a certain number of characters by MaxLength but that will give him the option of writing just 3 or 4 characters which I don't want to allow that from happening.
View 4 RepliesI have 200 dynamic textboxes.
I am trying to limit the user input to exactly 5 characters ( not more, not less ), and numeric only.
I have been trying this :
Private Function txtValid()
Dim str As String
For Each txt As TextBox In Panel1.Controls
[Code]....
But it always shows the last messagebox. Not all 200 textboxes will be filled in, so I suspect that it may have something to do with that, but I just need to stop the user from entering alphabetical characters, and the entered field must have a length of 5
I am trying to auto tab to the next text box after my limit of characters has been reached in a text box. Visual Basic 2010 Can this be set in the properties? I have 7 boxes, each allowed to hold only one character.

I am writing a few web based apps which will require a webbrowser extension. I have already used the IE webbrowser control that uses the trident web rendering engine. I believe this is MSHTML.DLL? Anyway, some of the users of my programs have complained of a few things. Particularily,
1. It seems to be a slow browser, at least compared to other rendering engines out there (webkit and gecko are 2 known ones).
2. On the developer side, it seems to be low in features. The features are sufficient in most cases, but there are some "special" things that I need.
3. It has VERY low HTML (and especially HTML5) compliance.
My question is, how much work would it take to use a different engine (such as webkit .net, which I HAVE heard of) and be able to distribute it easily. Or, if you guys feel ambitious, we could try writing a brand new engine ourselves. I know how big of a job it is, and frankly, I have no clue where to begin. I would just like your thoughts and opinions on the matter.
i have created an app to load an access database into a datagridview, which contains web urls. When button is clicked it webbrowser1 navigates to each url and each webpages document.inertext is put into textbox. This all work fine but after a while the webbrowser navigation becomes increasingly slower.

If RW.Selected = True Then
Dim domain As String

View 1 RepliesI have a regular application form with a WebBrowser control.I have strung together a .htm file (from a regular text file) which I then assign to the WebBrowser control. In the html file, I have filenames mentioned.I am trying to string together the html in such a way as to give a clickable link or button that will parse into html and open the corresponding file in another WebBrowser control in VB.I have tried using VBScript and JavaScript to put a button in the html.As long as the function or sub I call is also in the same html document, it works, but I really need to transfer the control back into visual basic where I can do the heavy lifting I need to.can I just not do this as a regular VB application? Any way to do it without adding the complication of requiring ActiveX?

I have an app that I have been recoding in vb.net formerly written in VB6. In this app I use some ASCII control codes such as ACK NAK ENQ US RS EOT. The VB6 app uses the CHR() function with the proper ASCII codes to handle these but in recoding I would like to use something more meaningful and descriptive than CHR(4) for example.

I've written a piece of code that takes 3 fields from a database and writes out the 3 added together, but with the middle field cropped down, so that the total number of characters is always 28, what I thought was the width of my listbox. I realised when I debugged though, that the listbox was docked and grew or shrank depending on the size of the screen.
Is there a way to determine how many fixed width characters will fit in a control, at run time?
I'm trying to make a validation control that only allows (a-z, A-Z, and 0-9). Which control to i use in vb.net or do i have to write specific code to validate it?
View 3 RepliesI am using WebBrowser1.DocumentText to get a websites source code, and then parse a string. I am trying to view the source line by line, and doing it as follows:

However what is displayed is each character from the source code, rather than the line. I am making the client log into a website, and the needed value from the source code is then parsed, so I need to use the WebBrowser type to get the source code.
I am using third party tool "gridlookupedit" of DevXpress in my application. I have loaded the gridlookupedit control on the key Down event of it. Now if i type a character "A" the dropdown gets loaded with all values starting with "A". Now a step ahead i want to load the GridLookUpEdit only after two characters. for rg: the control must load values only when user types any two characters. If user types "A" it should not load. if user types "Ab" then the control should be loaded by the values starting with "Ab".

I've learned that I have to keep control characters out of that string of cs or the display gets messed up. I've been using this code and it works fine (when it's not commented out). (binbuf is a Byte array)
'Select Case Convert.ToInt32(binbuf(i)) < 128
' Case True 'traditional ASCII character
' If Convert.ToChar(binbuf(i)) <> " "c Then

What I'd like to do is write this to a DB as-is by adding wholeThing as a parameter using to SqlCommand.Parameters.AddWithValue, but all of my painstakingly-inserted newlines go away (or appear to).

View 1 RepliesI have a webbrowser control, where I show images (bmp files, that the program creates), and I want to add some UserControls to setup the images (as showing layers, or choosing colors to display). Is easy to do appropiate UserControls on VB.NET, and I know almost nothing about HTML, so, I would like to add standard VB.NET UserControls near the images.
