I have created my own file system that is used for heavily encrypting all files on the drive. It has to use up to 7 partitions though. What I need it to do is add all partitions/directorys/files to a treeview. Something like this:
for each partition as safTfiles.partitions.partition in drive
add_partition()
for each folder as safTfiles.folders.folder in partition
add_folder_to_partition
[code].....
so it need to be able to click on a treeview node and expand, showing all subdirectorys and files.
All I am trying to do is write a simple program that will let me choose a directory and get a listing of all files in that directory and its sub-directories and show it in a RichTextBox. I got as far as being able to select the directory but when I click "OK" I get "access to c:documents and settingsstevedesktopmp3 is denied".The code I am using is listed below.
I have a folder with .txt files in it. How can I make my menuitem get those .txt files and put the filenames in the menuitem, so that it creates a list of all .txt files in that folder. So when I put a .txt in the folder the program automatically creates the menu item.
I need to write a process which filters out 'old/dead' job files from a directory (actually two directories). This process needs to 'read' a number pattern (in a fixed position) off the filenames (for which there will almost certainly be duplicates), and having then 'got a list' of unique number patterns, give these to a function (which I already have) which will give a boolean, from which I can decide to either delete those files whose name contain this particular number pattern or not - this is intended to be run each night (windows task scheduler). Example directory content is:
[ode]...
I know I can get a listing using Directory.GetFiles(dirpath, "SUB_*.xml") but am stuck on how to go about the rest.
I'm having a problem when I list .rar-files into a ListBox. I can list .rar-files OK from subdirectories, but what I want to determine if the file is actually the first part of .rar-archive. The new .rar-format packs files like: Archive.part01.rar Archive.part02.rar Archive.part03.rar ...
So I have no idea when I'm listing the first part of the archive or actually listing the other parts. Function UpdateFiles(ByVal FolderPath As String) As Boolean 'If FolderPath is empty, return false If FolderPath = "" Then Return False End If [Code] ......
I would like to know if there are some in built functions for the scenario that is described below :
The input is the path of a parent folder. Wat the function must do is , it should list out all the .zip files inside that parent folder. The parent folder can contain any number of subfolders, and the same applies to the subfolders too ..
VB version is not a barricade. Any of the versions VB6 or VS2005 can do. Also is there any other alternative way if there are no inbuilt functions as such.
I need to list all files folders, subfolders and subfolder files under a selected directory in a list box not sure how to do the logic in the last amount of code lines to enumerate all subfolders dna files. Here is what I have so far:
Dim OldProfileDir As String Dim NewProfileDir As String Dim Newdocs As String = "" Dim Olddocs As String = ""
I have a treeview in my form which should be populated with all dirves, folders and files on your computer. i found a couple of examples here on vbforums and other sites on the internet and put it together in to the code listed below.
Main_Form.vb Imports System.IO Public Class Main_Form
I am using the following code to add all files and sub-directories to a Treeview control. The user can select a directory (using a folder browser dialog) and this code will add that directory, and all it's files and sub-directories, to the Treeview:
[Code]....
I have tried a few ways, mainly 'copying' the code from this recent codebank submission. However, I keep getting the obvious cross-thread call issue that I am adding nodes to the 'node' parameter, which is not allowed.
I am at a loss at how to do this otherwise. How can I update a Treeview like this if I have to recursively add nodes to the 'node' parameter, which is not 'available' in a separate thread?
show the files in the particular folder using treeview but i dont have icons for all files windows select the icons for particular files can i select in the same way
I am trying to populate a TreeView control with all of the folders and files in a specific directory.I have a folder C:Temp and under this folder it has 3 more folders C:Temp1, Temp2, Temp3. Under each of these folders are files. How can I populate a treeview control recursively to do this? I have been working on it, but my code is extremely wrong and I couldnt find anything that helped by searching.
This is somewhat of a multi part question, let me start off by explaining what I'm trying to do. I have an organized folder system with data files in them. Each folder has a set structure to their naming, and can contain sub folders and files. It will be a jagged directory system. I'm trying to import their structure into a TreeView. I have the workings of a recursive system that adds all files and folders into a ViewTree, however they aren't organized by parent/child.
So I get this... -C:Temp -C:TempData -C:Tempfile1.txt -C:Tempfile2.txt -C:TempDatafile3.txt -C:TempDatafile4.txt etc........
How would I go about parsing the directory paths, and include them into a parent/child relationship... looking like this +Temp --file1.txt --file2.txt -+Data ---file3.txt ---file4.txt Also I when the line item is selected, I need to know which file is selected so I can use it's full path to call up data (using an API) based upon the it's full root path.
I'm loading a folder (path), which contains folders and files, in a treeview according the combobox-text.
When I load the app. the combobox is filled with the paths. I'm using the SelectedIndexChanged to load the treeview. Everything works.
The issue is that it also starts to load the paths the treeview also gets loaded (slow), but it should only load when I select an item in the combobox.
I tried comboboxselectedtextchanged etc, but without any luck. Besides that loading the files and folders is slow.
Do you have a sweet solution in VB (visual studio 2008) to read an OWL file and display nodes on a treeview? It works great for XML but not for OWL when nodes are like as follow: [Code]
I'm having a treeview loaded with all the files and subfolders of a path. Each node is getting the filepath as tag. Once I have dragged a node (file/folder) I need to move the file(s)/(sub)folder to the new directory. Each file(s)/(sub)folder needs to get a new tag
I have a form with a treeview and a listview. The treeview lists the folders on your system and listview shows the files in the selected folder, similar to windows explorer. I have a delete button for deleting files.
Dim i As Integer For i = 0 To lv1.SelectedItems.Count - 1 Dim csi As CShItem = lv1.SelectedItems(i).Tag
[CODE]...
When deleting multiple files a confirmation message box pops up for each file selected. I would like to have it come up once and ask 'Are you sure you want to send these 'x' files to the recycle bin?' where 'x' is the number of files selected.
i have a treeviev and listbox.i want to display the selected contents of treeview into the listbox.my code is working for file but not for folder. means i want, if the all contents of folder ABC(i.e all files) are selected then in listbox i want to show the only path of folder not the seperate path of each file.
i have a treeview say TV1 and another Treeview Say TV2.. Now TV1 Contains all nodes for user rights. and i want to add to tv2 only selected nodes.Like TV1 is
Node 1
....Child of Node 1 (Level 2)
.........Child of Child of Node 1 (Level 3)
what i want is that when i select Level3 Node it should chek TV2 for the parent of this node. if parent exist it should add the node under the same parent. if parent does not exist it should check for Level 1 Node and if it exist it should add Level 2 Node and then Level 3 Node. Otherwise it should add Level 1 , Level 2 and then Level 3 Nodes in order.
I have a class, let's call MyClass. In this class, I have a TreeView property let's call myTreeView..In my code, I populate the Nodes of this TreeView so I can use it later on.Then, when it's time to actualy use it, I haven't been able to take all the nodes from myClass and put them in a Tree View Control on my form.[code]The weird thing is that when debugging, the TreeView in MyClass is well populated with the proper values and in the loop, newNode isn't empty, there's actually something but for some reason it's not showing anything.
how to list all subfolders in vb.net. i want to put it on a listbox, i have created a code but it only search on the current location, and does not include subfolder. here is my code,,
Imports System.IO Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As
I came across this on a VBA written program and was wondering if it is possible to do the same on visual basic with the divider? So far I tried to populate a combobox using sqldatareader but can't get the same result.

Is it possible to list the available MySQL databases on a computer? At work we run a model that generates a MySQL database full of results, 360 odd tables, when the model is a MySQL database is created containing the results and what I need to do is to be able to list all available databases, allow one to be selected and transfer all of the tables to a blank Access database cretaing the relationships once all of the tables have been created. The tables contain all the primary keys and foreign keys, eg Table1 may contain cust_Numb and table2 may contain cust_numb_pkey.Is this possible?Initially I asked this on a ACCESS forum, but am hitting a few brick walls so thought I'd ask on here as well.
