Listing RAR Files From Sub Directories Into ListBox

I'm having a problem when I list .rar-files into a ListBox. I can list .rar-files OK from subdirectories, but what I want to determine if the file is actually the first part of .rar-archive. The new .rar-format packs files like:
Archive.part01.rar
Archive.part02.rar
Archive.part03.rar
...
So I have no idea when I'm listing the first part of the archive or actually listing the other parts.

I need to list all files folders, subfolders and subfolder files under a selected directory in a list box not sure how to do the logic in the last amount of code lines to enumerate all subfolders dna files.Here is what I have so far:

This is currently the code I am using.
Dim fileList As Collections.ObjectModel.ReadOnlyCollection(Of String) = My.Computer.FileSystem.GetFiles(FolderDialog1.SelectedPath, FileIO.SearchOption.SearchTopLevelOnly)
For Each topLvlFile As String In fileList

The above code reads all the files & directories in a selected path. It ignores any hidden folders, like it suppose to. Except it doesn't ignore folders inside of the hidden folders that it finds & I need it to.I can't quite wrap my head around how to make it ignore all folders & files inside of a hidden folder that it find.

How do I get all of the mapped network drives (shared ones) like the ones that a person would see in Windows Explorer? That is,

I have a page in VB.NET that is hosted with IIS 7 on Windows 7 Home Premium. The page has code in the Page_Load event that scans through a directory and adds all sub directories to a drop down list. All I am trying to do is write a simple program that will let me choose a directory and get a listing of all files in that directory and its sub-directories and show it in a RichTextBox. You see, in my new VB application, I have a form with a TextBox and a ListBox, and I need to make it so that, whenever some text is written in the TextBox, a SELECT operation must be performed in a table belonging to an SQL database, in order to return the elements of a particular column that are LIKE the text I just wrote in my TextBox. The results of this SELECT operation must then be written inside the ListBox.In other words, whenever I have some text inside my TextBox1, I have to do:
SELECT Description FROM Elements WHERE Description LIKE TextBox1.Text (this must be done whenever the text changes)And the results of this operation must be displayed in the ListBox on the side.

I have created my own file system that is used for heavily encrypting all files on the drive. It has to use up to 7 partitions though. What I need it to do is add all partitions/directorys/files to a treeview. Something like this:
for each partition as safTfiles.partitions.partition in drive
add_partition()
for each folder as safTfiles.folders.folder in partition
add_folder_to_partition

so it need to be able to click on a treeview node and expand, showing all subdirectorys and files.

I need to write a process which filters out 'old/dead' job files from a directory (actually two directories). This process needs to 'read' a number pattern (in a fixed position) off the filenames (for which there will almost certainly be duplicates), and having then 'got a list' of unique number patterns, give these to a function (which I already have) which will give a boolean, from which I can decide to either delete those files whose name contain this particular number pattern or not - this is intended to be run each night (windows task scheduler). Recently I have browsed the web for ways to display a list of files and folders in a list box. I have successfully been able to display files in drive C and get a nurerical value telling how many files were found. However my efforts have been hampered by three distinct problems. I have some experience using batch files and when using them you can state things like "%WINDER%" to go directly to windows folder. I am wondering if there's anything like that used for navigating. And if so could an example be made of it just for clarity?
My second problem is I cant seem to be able to display files and folders. I have been limited to one or the other. That and I cant figure out how to navigate into them to display there contents. The next problem I have is simply having a user interface so you could type a file path or file extention and have the program navigate to it. Is it is possible to click a file path in a list box and chose to delete it. My second last Q how do I display all files and folders including hidden files? And How can I count all files and folders with there contents to dissplay in a listbox.

I would like to know if there are some in built functions for the scenario that is described below :
The input is the path of a parent folder. Wat the function must do is , it should list out all the .zip files inside that parent folder.The parent folder can contain any number of subfolders, and the same applies to the subfolders too ..
VB version is not a barricade. Any of the versions VB6 or VS2005 can do. Also is there any other alternative way if there are no inbuilt functions as such.

I'm working on a program that will be a semi-autosubmition in web directories. I need an ideea for my directory list.I want to able to navigate from one directory to other with a "next button". Now I'm using a listbox saved in a text file, but i don't know how to make the selection for "next directory".I'm only able to click on the list. I am using the following code to add all files and sub-directories to a Treeview control. The user can select a directory (using a folder browser dialog) and this code will add that directory, and all it's files and sub-directories, to the Treeview:

I have tried a few ways, mainly 'copying' the code from this recent codebank submission. However, I keep getting the obvious cross-thread call issue that I am adding nodes to the 'node' parameter, which is not allowed.
I am at a loss at how to do this otherwise. How can I update a Treeview like this if I have to recursively add nodes to the 'node' parameter, which is not 'available' in a separate thread?

So this is what I have right now, I can get it to copy But I am wanting to rename the files with the date inside of the new Directory name, It is going to be used for making a copy of outlook.pst files. But as you can see I can't put in concrete names of where to save it because I want the user to be able to choose where to save it as it will be saved on a server with folders for each individual user.

I need to upload a large set of files and directories to my web server, all of the files that I want to upload to my server are located in "C:Files_To_Upload" directory, it contains thousands of files and maybe 100 directories/sub directories so I don't want to have to specify each specific sub folder and file - jmcilhinney's ftp example which I am currently working with shows a way to upload all of the files from a specific directory, but not subfolders and their files. How can I get it to also upload the sub folders and their files?
