I have a small application. When I click on a ListView row to Edit the details populated from the MS Access DB, I have the Else statement being executed all the time. Initially the code is attached behind a button named Edit. I have a Refresh button also which is clicked before the Edit button is clicked. Thus I just don't want to click on the OK button on the message box generated from the Else part. I just want to switch the Edit option between the ListView data when the ListView is item is clicked.[code]...

I clone the information to the empty listview2 from populated listview1 adding quantity via a numeric up/down. That works to a certain extent but problem is it adds another instance of the added item each time I press buy. I would like the items to appear in listview2 according to their index value in listview1. And when I press buy the app change only the quantity in column 2 if the item is already in listview2, if not just add the new item.
i have 3 textboxes and 3 columns in listview like names ProductCode, ProductName and Price. i save the textbox values to Listview columns.Now i want to that when i double click on any row in listview these values will be editable in the textboxes again for edit mod.

highlight/select an column and each column in the entire row, doubleclick the row, and populated a form with the .selecteditems(0) and subitems(0) to the text controls on the called form?
My application has to do a lot of work when I press as single button. When he is doing this he got to changes sometimes a few tings in a textbox. Sometimes the calculation can take more then 10 - 15 minutes, is there any way to make it doesn't say not responding? And you are able to work further in the program. I did try backgroundworker but I'm not able to edit the textbox.
I have one DataGridView named dgv.dgv is pretty much a plain gridview. No bounded data. No columns added. It's basically empty.I also have one DataTable named dt.I add rows and columns manually into dt.
dt.Columns.Add(New DataColumn("TexBox", GetType(String))) dr = dt.NewRow() dr("TextBox") = String.Empty dt.Rows.Add(dr)
I then simply set dgv datasource into dt.
dgv.DataSource = dt dgv.Refresh()
I then set the value for this particular cell.
dgv.Item(0,0).Value = "xxx"
Now when I run and execute all those commands. I happen to retrieve the gridview with that value indeed. The "xxx" cell appeared and currently it's uneditable.What I want to achieve is:Allow this "xxx" cell to be editable. Preferrably if it can be inserted into a TextBox control inside the cell.
I've got a csv text file "test.txt" in the following format with one record per line in the following format: Builder,Bob,B,99HappyStreet,Springtime,4
I've read them into an array and in design use the first two to populate a listbox and then use a selected index to fill text boxes and some list boxes.
How do I write the changes made in the text fields back to the position in the file where it was? It has me stumped although I'm sure there is a SelectedIndex option that can work.
I've considered having all the new/changed data saved as a new record and then just deleting the 'old' entry but my delete code gives me a selectedindex-1 index out of range exception error that I'm working on as well. I am sure both problems are related.[cod]e...
I have an officecharge textbox in which I specify how much I'm charging the customer for a specific service. If the user changes the officecharge value for that customer I would like to keep track of the previous value to then compare
it to the new value to then set a boolean variable true or false accordingly. I would like to fire/trigger this segment of code everytime the user leaves the OfficeChargeTextBox (after it loses focus) so that it can compare the final value entered with the previous value and then decide what to do based on whatever login.applies from that point forward.[code...]
I'm using visual basic 2008 express edition by linq to sql for my database operation such as edit records. I did not use any sql server but I'm just using the built-in sql server within the visual basic 2008 express. What I want is to edit the records which were retrieved from the database into the text-boxes and when you click the button5 whatever the new value on the text-boxes should replace the previous one.The Account field is the field in my Table1 in memrec.dbml which I set up for primary key is true and the rest of the fields are false in its primary key.[code]...

These are what I see on each field's property on Table1 in memrec.dbml property window:

I have a Listview1 controls on my Form. the controls has 1 column with more lines. First, I wanted these lines into separate columns, but the lines are not delimited, it means, it has 1 ":", and the others ",". So I could write it only in 1 line:
Dim filename As String = "filename.txt" ListView1.Items.Clear() Dim sr As New System.IO.StreamReader(filename)
[Code].....
The "channels" is an identifacation from other lines that I don't want in the listview. So I have the line, and I want it to examine, whether it contains a specified word. If yes, then this word should be displayed in a textbox.
I'm trying to do the following: Store items from ComboBox in My.Settings (datatype doesn't matter). Retrieve these items to populate a ComboBox on formload. Also display these items (1 item per line) in TextBox, where I can edit and save the edits to both My.Settings and the ComboBox.
I am using a masked edit text box in my windows application that was developed by using vb.net. In normal text boxes (CTRL+Z- to revert back to original value) is working fine. But In case of Masked Edit Textboxes its not working fine. This ctrl+Z should provide the functionality as same as normal textbox.
I would like some info on how to do a procedure. In my program when a user hits the Edit Command button I would like for the program to display a popup Textbox where he/she can input data and store it. Then the data will be linked to the comments box, once the user hits the save button. Also the popup textbox disappears after the user is done entering the data.
Ok, so I have a listview on one form, and when a button is pressed it opens up a new form with the contents of the selected listview item and it's subitems in a series of textboxes. The user can then change the data in the textboxes and either press save to make the changes or cancel to close the window. What command would I use to change the selected listview item and subitems to whatever is in the boxes?
this is the code that populates the boxes:
Private Sub Form_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load Dim appeditcontents As String = main.passlist.SelectedItems(0).ToString
In my form, I have textbox + combobox to enter datas which are saved to ms access. I have search option too. Also i have DataGrid to show the result of the search. What I want now is, 1. To show the search result in the textbox/combox as well (I already am able to make the result show on datagrid)2. When there are multiple result showing on DataGrid, if i click on a particular result on DataGrid, let the textbox/combobox automatically loads the details of the one i clicked.
I have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries.User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm).Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title. Logic is handled in a class called Contact.vb Here is my code.
Public Class Contact Public Contact As String Public Title As String[code]....
I have been searching for an answer for this for almost a week now, and I can't seem to find a way to do this. I would think it is a relatively simple thing...
I have a ListView, and one GridViewColumn contains TextBox items. I want to put a Label right underneath the ListView, and fill it with the sum of the items in all the TextBoxes. Whenever someone changes a value in any of the TextBoxes, the sum should change, too.[code]...
Just lately I've been 'playing' with entering data into a ListView and I have come up with the following code which seems to be OK. Can anyone see if there is any fault with it?
