Sometimes the MCI device shows Incorrect Media Length for some particular media. I searched a lot in Google and the only solution I could find is written in Delphi (Delphi Solution) I couldn't find any Delphi to C# or VB converter. I just want my Media length to be correct.
The MSDN documentation for WMPLIB states that syncing to device is not supported in .NET programming, only C++.Is there, however, a simple wrapper class or DLL that can be used to interface between a .NET program and the nescessary C++ code?Or is there a better way to sync files to a device using VB.NET? Are all devices suited/compatible with just a simple filesystem.copyfile ?
I am using VB 2008. I am trying to use the currentMedia.durationString to get a tracks lenght like shown below: Label1.Text = AxWindowsMediaPlayer1.currentMedia.durationString I have a problem that this does not work until a file has started playing. If i start a track and then stop it, then load a different track it works perfectly but it never just works first time.
A Problem in accessing a device from VB Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because there is a duplicate device already running in the system. I am attempting to consume my Zenfolio RSS feed so that i can display the images in the feed. How can i access the url value of the media:thumbnail and media:content elements in my RSS feed? I have googled high and low and not found an answer regarding how to access the url value. There was a similiar unanswered SO post.
Examples of the elements: <media:thumbnail url="http://riderdesign.net/img/s11/v35/p449020235-2.jpg" width="400"
im working on a little app for my self, to make my life a little more convenient. I have some media keys on my laptop, and I would like to use them with itunes while it is minimized. I found a app that did it for me a long time ago, but cant seem to find it now. But I would like to try my hand at my own, and I've managed to do so, but, my app has to be in focus for it to work. is there any way to still detect when these media keys are pressed while my app is out of focus?
i just want to make a program with first form to enter the serial if correct just continue to form2 if incorrect just a popup say like "Serial Incorrect" how i can make it ?
End WhileI am trying to read from the ": " to the end of the line. I keep getting this error: Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name: length
I am messing around with the WMPLib component provided by Windows Media Player 12 (wmp.dll) in VB.NET with .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.
I am trying to retrieve a media item from my media library based on its name (assuming there are no duplicate names). At the moment, I'm grabbing the entire media library, and looping through every media item, and quitting the loop when I've found the correct media item. This works well (except for when a media item with that name cannot be found), but I was hoping there was a more efficient way of doing this.
Here is my code so far:
Public Class WMPTest Private myWMP As WMPLib.IWMPCore Private myMediaCollection As WMPLib.IWMPMediaCollection
[Code]......
So what I really want is a way to optimize findTrack() to do its thing without looping through the entire media library (which could be huge).
I have created a media player (vb.net 2005) using the media player control. Plays fine when using open dialog box and url. I have set my player as the default player but when I click on a media file, the player will open but not play. I am sure it has to do with on open event and coding the url to see the selected file just like any other media player out there.
I have a field displaying on a datagrid that the user has asked to be variable length based on the data that is returned. Is there an easy way to determine how many characters are returned for a field and then converting that to a pixel length so that I can change the length of the field in the code.
If using the following in an if statement I get an error: If trg.Name.Substring(4, 6).ToUpper <> ("ABCDEF") Then I get the error: "Index and length must refer to a location within the string. Parameter name: length"
I assume this is because the string (trg.name) is too small for the 4, 6 substring. What would be the correct method of working around this problem? VB.net Studio 2008.
Dt = MyMod.GetDataTable("SELECT TOP " & QuestionsPerCats(i) & " * From Questions WHERE CategoriesID ='" & Cats(i) & "' ORDER BY NEWID()")
but now i decided to use sqlparameters like
Dim cmd As New SqlCommand("SELECT TOP @QuestionsPerCats * From Questions WHERE CategoriesID = @CategoriesID ORDER BY NEWID()", conn) Dim sqlParam As SqlParameter = Nothing sqlParam = cmd.Parameters.Add("@QuestionsPerCats", SqlDbType.SmallInt)
It was suggested that I use xmldocument.load to do a sql insert statement instead of BULK INSERT.However when I run the Sub I am getting this error: "Incorrect syntax near '<'. "Here is my code, I have no clue what is causing this error, or how to fix it.
Sub AO() Dim Z As String = Microsoft.VisualBasic.Format(Today.AddDays(-1), "MMddyyyy") Dim AO_Name As New String("\NetImportAO-M_" & (Z) & ".xml") Console.WriteLine(AO_Name)
I have dll and exe files which have assebly version numbers different from the values stored in AssemblyInfo.vb.If I look at the information displayed in the Details tab of File properties in Windows, the File version and Product version values are identical with the values of AssemblyInfo.vb. But when I use My.Application.Info.Version to display the version number at runtime, the value displayed is incorrect. Also when I add a reference to a dll file, the referenced version is incorrect. The incorrect value is the same as the value last time AssemblyInfo.vb was edited on the local machine. If the AssemblyInfo.vb file is edited on another machine, the value won't be updated on other machines.
Typical example: On a nightly build the build server increments the build number of all AssemblyInfo.vb files. When developer workstations are updated in the morning (get latest) the build number isn't updated at runtime - even though the AssemblyInfo.vb file is updated and compiled into a new dll or exe file. But file properties in Windows displays the updated build number as described above. I've been looking for other places where a version number might be stored (in case there are more than one place to update the version number), but I can't find any reference to the displayed build number when I search the source files.
If a developer workstation edits the build number, compiles, and edits it back to the correct value and builds again, the displayed value at runtime is equal to the value in the source file. It's like the AssemblyInfo.vb files must be edited on the machine that builds the solution, or the result is not reliable..
I've added a DataGridView and on a MouseDown event I'm invoking a ContextMenuStrip on the right mouse button. But for somereason the context menu always appears at the top center of my DataGrid.When I look at the value of e.Location it is always the same regardless of where I click in the grid. I'm at a loss as to what is going on. Below is the code for the MouseDown event:
Private Sub dgvTreename_CellMouseDown(sender As Object, e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellMouseEventArgs) Handles dgvTreename.CellMouseDown If e.Button = Windows.Forms.MouseButtons.Right Then
i am having a problem with my date format. i want the format to be MM/DD/YYYY for example 02/28/2011 . i have put custom format in my event. but when i change my setting in regional settings it changes the format

The Code has two options. Option one starts with 1 dollar and doubles everyday for 10 days. If this is correct the value should be $1024 but instead it shows double that ($2046)
The second option starts with $100 and adds $100 per day for 10 days. The number should come out to an even $1000 but instead shows $6500
Public Class Form1 Private Sub compareButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles compareButton.Click
Trying to find out the cause of 'Incorrect syntax near ,. in the insert statements below :reason didnt use the GetDate() for the sInputDate and sSuccessDate is to manually get the precise datetime.now in the upper code and calculate the difference with the sSuccessDate.
strSuccessDate2 = DateTime.Now.ToString("MM/dd/yyyy HH:mm:ss") If (IsDBNull(ds.Tables(0).Rows(0)("fExpireDate")) = True) Then strSQL2 = "INSERT INTO tSMSSendLog (fBatchNo, fOrderNo, fRefNo, fDataRefCode, fPriority, fFromID, fMobileNumber," & _
