i am making a program that can paint something.the painting code is easy to do, but i cannot find out how can i make the clearing of what i have drew.in this code u can see that i made it on the mouse click/down and while moving it it will draw a line.

Ok I'm trying write a simple 2d game. I have a base class to render the game sprites. It uses the forms graphics object to update the scene. The problem is it will draw only one picture then it seems like the onpaint event isn't raised again to update it. How do I use the raiseevent method to make a call to the onpaint method. With reference to my previous thread on Paint event handler.. [URL] I went to read up more on Paint Event Handler.. I have a button which draw out a path based on the user selection.. Below contains the drawing of the path portion of the button click event code

However It did not activate the paint event when I clicked on the button.. Instead, the paint event still activate even before I click on the button? So can anyone teach me on how to activate the paint event when I click on a button?

I just have a simple vb.net website that need to call a Sub that performs a very long task that works with syncing up some directories in the filesystem (details not important).
When I call the method, it eventually times out on the website waiting for the sub routine to complete. However, even though the website times out, the routine eventually completes it's task and all the directories end up as they should.
I want to just prevent the timeout so I'd like to just call the Sub asynchronously. I do not need (or even want) and callback/confirmation that it ran successfully.[code]...

Ok major problem with a paint program i am making. When i have a window overlap or anything and move to side of screen and minimize and maximize i lose whats in the picturebox...Here is an example of the code I use to draw a line after click a button:

I think I've misused this method and would like to know what it actually does.I 've looked it up on msdn forum and found this

What does it mean by removing all the rows in all tables? Is it the datagridview table? When it says "removing", does it mean that it deletes everything?
The reason I misused it is because I thought dataset.clear means it flushes the record held in dataset.
When I click on the add new icon on bindingnavigator, a new form will appear, which allows me to insert data

when I close the insert form, the parent form will be activated and datagridview will display the new record I just inserted. I thought the dataset.clear method helped display the new added record but then I realised I could do without the dataset.clear method.

To .NET after getting tired of using VB6 due to the lack of functionality. I'm trying to create a log on method for a system which will involve users selecting a colour from a paint panel and then placing/drawing the colour in 1 or more tiles of a grid, basically a 3x3 grid in which for example they selected the blue colour and drew in the top left tile and the bottom left tile. The logon is selecting the correct colour and placing the colour in the appropriate tile. What i want them to be able to do is place even a single pixel of colour so it has a high accuracy. So far i have a timer which loops from the width of the grid to the height of the grid.

To start with i have just hard coded the colour i want it to detect. At present it produces an error. Parameter must be positive and < Width the error is on System.Drawing.Point(i,j). If i place the mouse over the colour then run the program it will say it has been found, but otherwise it wont find the colour. I believe i am not updating the location of the pixel or something to that effect.

I am using the StreamWriter to create a log file for my application. However I do not see a method on how to clear the file (make the file blank again). Also before I clear the file I want to rename it so that I can have multiple log files, a new one produced everytime the application runs.

I am trying to make a basic "paint" like form for one of my programs.I would like it to be like a function, where I put the input in, the user changes it, and when the user is done, it returns the changed picture.I know how to draw the picture and then draw lines, dots, whatever where the user clicks, but I don't know how to do some of the features like: text, color picker, zoom, erase, select (copy and pasting parts of the image) , and fill. I also don't really want to have a color picker dialog open ever time that the user wants to change color.
