Forms :: Paint Program (graphics Disappearing) - Add A Save Feature To This Program?
Jul 22, 2010
Ok major problem with a paint program i am making. When i have a window overlap or anything and move to side of screen and minimize and maximize i lose whats in the picturebox...Here is an example of the code I use to draw a line after click a button:
Private Sub btndraw_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnlinedraw.Click
lxs = txtslinelocationx.Text
lxe = txtelinelocationx.Text[code].....
Here is a picture of my program running: How do I stop everything being deleted when things pass it...? how can i add a save feature to this program?
I have a bound datagridview and a dataset with tables.
I have two sets of comboboxes bound to the same field "Restaurant" in the tables (mirroring each other).
In the "NewEmployeeRestaurant" combobox I change the value and it reflects in the datagridview. I can shoot around clicking all over the datagridview on other employees, but when I return to the employee I changed, the value remains what I changed it to. All is good in the world.
However, when I go to the "EmployeeRestaurant" combobox with the same settings, I change the value and it is reflected in the datagridview. So far so good. But when I go to another employee then click back on that employee I changed, the datagridview still shows the new value but the combobox is empty! NOT COOL!
I am developing a VB.NET program. I currently have an ASP Textbox with a label showing inside it. But now the customer has to manually delete this label before entering their own text. How do I get this label to vanish as soon as they begin typing? My script is nearly working now for txtFind. But in this case, it shows a different textbox to display watermark image. How can I reset this watermark to only activate the txtFind textbox instead? And to remove the textbox on left-hand side?
Here is my new ASPX file code: <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" > function GetChart(thepart, thepartdesc, thecolor, row) { Form1.part_transfer.value = thepart; Form1.part_desc_transfer.value = thepartdesc; Form1.submit(); [Code] ......
Is there a possibillity to get in a vb program information from a called vb program?For example: Dim id As Integer = Shell("C:program.exe id_1") program.exe is a vb windows form program and must return a value back.
I want to save data from web and desktop applications and then provide that info again to fill the forms with the saved data .I am using vs2008 and sql2005
I am trying to make a basic "paint" like form for one of my programs.I would like it to be like a function, where I put the input in, the user changes it, and when the user is done, it returns the changed picture.I know how to draw the picture and then draw lines, dots, whatever where the user clicks, but I don't know how to do some of the features like: text, color picker, zoom, erase, select (copy and pasting parts of the image) , and fill. I also don't really want to have a color picker dialog open ever time that the user wants to change color.
I created a paint type program for signatures, and now I would like to save my canvas as either a jpeg, bitmap, or gif file, but I am unsure how to go about this. Here is my code,
I remember long time ago (though I have not done it for eons by now), that I can embed MS Notepad into a program of mine in VB6. I am now programming using VB2005, and I have a need of a simple drawing tool inside my program. I am wondering if I can embed MS Paint into a VB2005 program?
I'm trying to add a feature to my program that makes it so when the cursor moves off of the form, the form drops in opacity, making it sort-of transparent. However, it's not working for some reason.
Private Sub hovertimer_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles hovertimer.Tick If MousePosition.X < "0" Then Me.Opacity = 60%
Is there a way to disable the new VB 2010 implicit line continuations feature in Visual Studio 2010. We are using an TFS 2008 built service which doesn't support the new feature (sources in VS 2010 without errors getting built errors in TFS 2008 built service / we cannot update to TFS 2010 built service).
I am trying to create a simple paint program with radio buttons to change colors and size of the brush and draw within a panel on my form(VB 2008 Express).I cannot get the buttons to work. What do I need to put in the radion button event to change brush color and then also brush size? Following is the code I have so far, with nothing in the radio button events, because everything I try does not work.
Public Class PaintForm
Private shouldPaint As Boolean = False ' determines whether to paint
Private Sub Panel1_MouseDown(ByVal sender As System.Object, _[code]......
i am making a program that can paint something.the painting code is easy to do, but i cannot find out how can i make the clearing of what i have drew.in this code u can see that i made it on the mouse click/down and while moving it it will draw a line.
private shouldpaint as boolean = false Private Sub Form1_MouseDown(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles Me.MouseDown
Ok, I haven't started this yet, but I'm just thinking out loud for a project I have coming up.
One approach I am thinking about pursuing involves "messaging" my application (windows form in VS 2008 pro) from a mobile device, whether it be a laptop, phone, pda, etc.
is this possible? (1st question) and what is the "correct" implementation to do this? (2nd question)
The idea is to remotely disable the email sending feature of my program by the user (owner of the application) to kill email alerts if they are not at their computer.
I am currently using vb 2008 and want it so when a user registers it will unlock all the extra features and stay that way even after the user quits and restarts the program... I already have everything set exept for the save feature. I don;t know exactly what to do. I just want to save the settings of my program so that they are the same every time somebody uses the program. I heard that you need to go into Project , then properties and then settings... But I don't understand what to do there...
In the below code I load the image to the graphics path using resource image and adding text on it. When I add the image through open file dialog it paints on the form with original size but I need to resize it, add it to the PictureBox, add text to it and give zoom and pan options to it and then I need to save with the original size.
When I resize and when save the image I endi up with a small image.
Here is my code:
Imports System.Collections.ObjectModel Imports System.Drawing.Drawing2D Public Class Form1
What language is the best if you want to make a large paint program (such as photoshop)? And how can I paint the best way, so I have much possibillities?
This is a working example which draws a rectangle on different location every timer_tick and I fully understand now how it's working:
Code: Dim i, timercount As Integer Private Sub PictureBox1_Paint(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.PaintEventArgs) Handles PictureBox1.Paint
[code]....
Now I'm looking for a way to draw this rectangles without refreshing them every single tick. I've just started using Visual Basic and I really don't know how to call/raise PictureBox1_Paint event every timer_tick or how to store drawing data in member variables?
When one of my students opened his project yesterday, the Form he designed for it was no longer available. He could run the program but he couldn't edit the form as it had disappeared. Later he couldn't run the program at all as the error said that the form name wasn't part of the WindowsApplication. What's going on?
This little experiment was a test prompted by a previous thread to learn to work in a graphics object, then paint everything later to a picturebox (later, will be looking at building own custom control for the display), and save out the bitmap to a file on the HD.But weird things happen here. Nothing will display in the picturebox, and the saved bitmap is just a black box.The only partial success I had was replacing: e.Graphics.DrawImage(MyBitmap, 0, 0)
with, PictureBox1.image = MyBitmap
inside the paint event handler, but that caused infinite recursion of the paint event. But at least I could see parts of the graphic for a fraction of a second before it was wiped clean, every time I clicked the "Go_cmd" button. But what is weird is that this partial success showed that the graphics object was copying successfully over to the bitmap image (because I could briefly see parts of it in the picturebox, but the saved file would still come out black, even though it was based on the same bitmap!The code is as follows.Above the form1 class
Imports System.Drawing.Imaging The single declaration:
Public MyBitmap As Bitmap The form_load procedure:[ code].....
The code in the version shown above would not even show a brief moment of the graphics in the picturebox, and the saved .bmp file is just a filled black box.
This one is killing me. I don't think this would be so difficult if M$ documentation was to the point and talked in normal speak (I guess they don't understand KISS).it seems unnecessarily difficult to raise a paint event without a picturebox getting redrawn (all existing graphics erased). Invalidate, Refresh and Update all erase the picturebox. All I want to do is get the procedure ( with Handles Picturebox1.paint) to fire so I can draw to it without erasing what is already there. I looked into the RaiseEvent statement but there are a zillion errors that pop up for one reason or another telling me I can't do it. So: 1. How the heck can I get this to work? 2. Does anyone know of a great book on vb.NET that doesn't try to impress anyone with it's command of the English language, but instead teaches. As far as I can tell, M$ is full of themselves in a major way?
I've got this code which draws a line and it moves down to a point then two curves are drawn coming off of it. I need to get it to repeat itself after a short period, so there's a constant flow of lines moving down then becoming curves.[code]
I've got a basic idea of what i'm wanting to do, just been out of it too long to remember how to do it. I'm wanting to load an image, not display it. Get all the pixel data, then redraw the image pixel for pixel in mspaint.
I have VB project and I tried to use PUBLISH feature.It seems to create nicely some kind of setup program, but the setup program does not ask where to copy files (it does not seem to copy filesto target machine "PROGRAM FILES".)Is this setup program somehow different from usual installers?
NOTE: I want that app files are installed to Hard disk( from USB stick source)Is the signing recommended or necessary? My App is pretty simple, its just using access DB + printer api, should I still sign?
Running a graphics effect in the Paint event of a Form. I am thinking of something like a screensaver effect, not necessarily full-screen either. Would a background worker be better suited to this idea or using another thread? I wouldn't want something that is very demanding on a computer processor. In fact, what I was originally thinking, is it possible to put a Windows screensaver program inside a Form? Installing VB6 on Windows 7
