I am doing some stuff when the user presses the arrow keys, but I fear many controls, like the TabControl, respond to such presses as well. In the case of my TabControl, the arrow presses will make it change of tab. I don't want that.. how can I disable such?

in my VB.NET application, my main Form can show other Forms. That works fine, but I need to set "focus" on the newly opened form, and don't allow the user use the main form until the opened Form is closed. How do I do that?

I'm not guaranteed that this data is well-formed, as users can copy/paste from anywhere into the editor control I'm using, or manually edit the HTML that's generated. The question is: what's the best way of going about removing or somehow ignoring <script/> and <form/> tags so that, when the user's text is displayed elsewhere in the Web Application, it doesn't disrupt the normal operation of the containing page.I've toyed with the idea of simply doing a "Find and Replace" for <script>/<form>with <div> (obviously taking into account whitespace and closing tags, if they exist). I'm also open to any way to somehow "ignore" certain tags. For all I know, there could be some built-in way of saying (in HTML, CSS, or JavaScript) "for all elements in <div id="MyContent">, treat <form> and <script> as <div>.
View 5 RepliesI have a windows application that has a tab control with 5 different tabs. Each of these tabs has a datagrid view that is populated with data on form load with data from SQL Server. I have an event handler for the datagrids for CellValueChanged that appends an asterisk, "*" to the tab, when a change is made, this is meant to mimic the same behavior in VS or SSMS. The issue that I have just realized is that on page load as the datagrids are populated this event handler is raised thousand of times. I have included an If Then statement to exit the sub if it occurs during page load, but am concerned about the performance implications, if any. Is there a better way to handle such functionality? Possibly a way to ignore the event handler on form load? If not is there a negative impact leaving this functionality in?

View 3 RepliesI have created a menu using a treeview to launch forms when the user clicks on a node. To complete the look-and-feel, I have set up the nodes to look like hyperlinks. I'd like to have the cursor change to a hand (like the one you see when you hover over a link) when the user hovers over a node, however so far I've only been able to have the cursor change on hovering inside the treeview, as opposed to over a node. As far as I can tell, a TreeNode doesn't have events such as MouseEnter, so I can't have them handle the events themselves.
I am attempting to use this function to loop through the nodes and check the Bounds property of the TreeNode against the Point property of the cursor, but so far the If block always evaluates to false, meaning that the cursor never changes.[code]...

I mean as in even if the user's cursor leaves the form, it will still display the custom cursor only.

I have a program that reads pixel colors in other applications, I've got the program working correctly but trying to hovor your mouse over a single pixel on the screen using the standard mouse "Arrow" pointer is a little difficult. I've created a custom cursor that is a cross hair of sorts that makes it easier to target specific pixels, is there a way to change the mouse curse to a specified cursor when the mouse is NOT over the controlling form?

However the problem is that I am having problems displaying the form at my cursor position. I have a mdi chaild form in my app and when I right click I want to display my custom contextmenu form at the point where I right click in the mdichild form. The only other thing is that I want the middle of the form to be displayed at the cursor point.
