Oct 9, 2009I'm trying to show message "Loading..." when a user select an item in the dorp down list.
Mark up:

The method I'm using above is not working. When I select a new item from the drop down list, it works as expected except the message "Loading..." is not showing at all.

Jan 13, 2010I'm creating a simulation programe. In one sheet I have a group of cells (AngleConf) that have a drop down list. I would like to make some operations when I change the value of one of these cells. It always works when I insert the new value manually. But it doesn't always works when I change it by selecting the value from the list. I supose that that happens because of some option that I change while I'm working but I can't find out witch one exactly.The code that I think that its implicated:

Mar 5, 2011Working on a DragDrop application. I have a class object (built as an object) which has a GroupBox that is enabled for DragDrop.
In the class I have set it up so that the cursor will change when it enters the groupbox, leaves the groupbox, mouse is down within the groupbox and drag/drop is working. I also set up a label in the class object and changed the text in that label as well. Basically, the text changes in the label as expected including 'FEEDBACK' appearing when I am dragging the object BUT the cursor stays stubbornly as a pointer. This is tghe state of affairs either when I debug the class or when, after I build the class, it is run as part of the main program.
Here are the subs set up in the class.

VS 2005 Show Cursor After Hiding It
May 17, 2009I don't know what's wrong but in my code I can't show the cursor. .Hide() will succesfully hide the cursor but then .Show() does nothing.

Basically while the game is running, I need the cursor hidden. That part works, but when the game pauses, I need the cursor back and .Show() isn't working. I have a msgbox to check and make sure that the Else side actually executes when the game is paused, and it does so I know .Show() is executing.

### = 1232, 1234, 1236, 1238, 123A, 123C ; comment here I want to show a button when the caret (cursor pipe thing) in the textbox goes is in a number so like:
... , 12|31, .... or
... , 123|1, .... etc
(the pipe being the caret)
I have written code to check if it is in a number and to get the number when the button is clicked, but it doesn't work correctly if I put the code in the selection changed event.
oh and the numbers can be upto 8 digits long and hex.

Jul 13, 2009you know how you can set the windows taskbar to appear and disappear when the position of the mouse is all the way at the bottom? i want to do the same thing with my form when the mouse is in the top left corner of screen.or perhaps you can suggest to me a different way to do this. the user will probably just need to set those trackbars just several times during their usage.

Sep 8, 2010I have a test app driven by bluetooth serial events In my form load code I hide the cursor so it doesn't get in the way of pictures (fullscreen) When one event is called by bluetooth, it brings up a msgbox and the user has to click OK. I tried Windows.Forms.Cursor.Show() but it doesn't work.
I'm guessing it's something to do with delegates and events and the form, but the debugger doesn't complain at any point. It just refuses to show the cursor. How can I get my serialport event to show the cursor? And then hide it after?

May 31, 2012I am trying to compare a calculated date with a value in a dropdown list. The value is a date.toString.This is what I have so far:

Holidays is a dropdown list bound to a database so that I can add a day to a scheduledate if it happens to fall on a holiday. This works if I add a string value to sched rather than converting scheduledateval to a string.

Normally I would have to do it myself but now the program does it. I was wondering wether there was a way to create a second mouse cursor, to not interrupt the main mouse cursor, so I could do other work while my program is still doing its work. Like 2 mouses, 1 is the main cursor, the other one is programmed to do its work even if the form is not focused.
