I am working on a VB.Net Windows application. I am trying to use MaskedTextBox. My mask is 999999, RightToLeft is true, TextAlign is right. It is not letting me enter characters from the right. It is entering them from the left. When I type 1234 and save I get 1234____ when I expect to get ____1234.
View 1 RepliesI am using a masked text box to allow users to enter a serial number. The problem is that this serial number has to be communicated over the phone and people seem to be having trouble differentiating between O and 0 and I and 1.
I thought that a good solution to this might be some way of highlighting which characters in the textbox were numeric characters (as opposed to alphabetic characters). Obviously there is no way to do this without using a richtextbox and then I lose the masking ability. Highlight numeric characters in a maskedtextbox?
When I use this code to open a new form, My maskedtextbox on the new form can't allow the user user t enter any text. This has slowed me down a bit.

View 12 RepliesI am using the MaskedTextBox and I am wanting to check for the following:
1. If the length of the text = 14 characters, enable the reset and start button
2. If the length of the text < 14 characters, enable the reset button, disable the start button
3. If the length of the text = 0 characters, disable both buttons
I am able to get most of it to work but when the length = 0, the start button is disabling like it's supposed to but the reset button is staying enabled. Any ideas? I have been looking at this code for hours and can't figure out why this is.

If the strings is not 20 characters long I get an error. I wanted to know how can I get the program to start back over and let me enter another 2 more words if the string is not 20 characters long. Here is how I would have imagined it to work:-I figured this wouldn't display correctly.this was just an example, but was hoping to have the asterisks display even with the last asterisks on the first line and the slash on the last line.

The text when i look at the .Text Property and click the magnifying glass shows it like i would imagine but within the control itself the alignment is all over the place and doesn't make much sense how it is doing it. If i bring the same text file into notepad it all looks fine and is also aligned correctly.what I need to enable to get this to work?
I should also mention that I thought maybe it had something to do with tabs, but when i view the .rtf property for many of the lines that should be aligned still are not even without tabs.
Essentially I am trying to replicate the Windows 7 (In-Windows) activation key TextBox form. The Form where it will auto capitalize letters, remove or deny all non alphanumeric characters except dashes every 5 characters that will be auto-input.I assume this can be done with a fairly complicated replacement Regular Expression but I cannot seem to create one to fit the needs.
This is an Example of what I have right now, but it creates an infinite loop as it removes all characters including dashes, than adds a dash, which changes the text and removes the dash again.

How is it posible to align each "Column", so that, no matter the size of each value, the columns line up perfectly under each other. I'm using a listbox for the output, I thought I had an understanding of this but apparently I don't. I am using a fixed width font and the screenshot shows my results. I have done this before but not in awhile.how to set up the zones. I know the minus sign in front will left justify the column results but I'm having trouble with the other columns.

I have a PictureBox that is docked in the upper left corner of a form. It is contained inside of a SplitContainer, and the PictureBox is set to Fill the side of the panel that it resides:

I have the SizeMode set to Zoom so that the image will be resized to fit the bounds of the PictureBox. By default, the image is centered with this SizeMode. I am wondering if it is possible to force the image to be left-aligned instead of centered.
I've added a status bar to the form and have it set to "RightToLeft" True so that it adds my Label to the far right hand side.Now what I wanted to do was add a label that is left justified, but I can't figure this out by looking at the properties, so I'm assuming this has to be done through code somehow?I'm aiming for something along the lines of a browser's status bar layout.
