Ms Access And Vb Combination - Show Every Fields On Vb Forms Without Any Coding

I have a complete ms access system build(tables, forms, reports, query). I am in the process of using vb to re-create the system. I managed to show every fields on my vb forms without any coding. However I have some wrong information in my combo boxes. For example I will have repetition(duration, ie 3 months is showing 5 times). Also when I use the arrows only three records are showing. It says 104 records and only shows 1-3. I have also checked all the data in vb that has been transfered from access and it is all similar, ni repetition.

I have noticed that whilst in the past using MS Access you could have a primary key field on a form and have it not visible. You could still use it for Dlookups etc using the value in the field no problem even though it is not visible. In Vb if i hide a textbox that is bound to a PK field in a datasource and try to use its value in code i get an error. Making the field visible again prevents the error. My goal is to use a PK bound textbox not visible to the user but still read its contents.
Also, what is the equivalent of a simple DLOOKUP in VS2010? EG. You have the PK and want to know, say 3 other pieces of information from the record based upon the PK you have.

I'm trying to create a table in Word using data from a table in Access. There are four fields in the access table that I need. 3 fields are text which I can populate the Word without any issues. However the fourth field is a memo with >255 characters.I'm struggling to come up with the proper code to allow me to populate the Word field with the memo data that has more than 255 characters. The code I have so far is listed below. But when it hits the memo field, it crashes on the line I marked with **. I am working on a program in which I allow the user to quickly add strings to a textbox by pressing a key combination, such as ALT+S. Inserting the strings and setting the cursor to the right position works fine. Its just that windows makes an annoying beep as if an error was encountered every time I press the key combination. I am using the KeyDown event to handle the keystrokes, and I have tried e.Handled = True - without success. Here's a bit of code to give you the idea:[code]

I'm looking forward to reading and adding more to the community here. I've created a text based rpg. Next semester we are learning Visual Basic. I'm on winter break and I would like to get a head start on my learning. I've been working on creating some forms and message boxes. What is throwing me off, is that I have a good feel for doing coding so that I get functionality the will produce effects in a console. Coding the forms is a bit confusing for me. Is this something that others have run into? Is their some good primers for VB? I don't have my text books yet.

I am using the code shown below to compare two Access databases with two fields each and write the results to a third Access database. I am getting an error at the "Do While DMReader02.Read = True" line: "Invalid attempt to call Read when reader is closed." Why would the reader be closed at this point if I am using different DataReaders in the two loops?

I have a from with a datagrid, binding navigator, and textboxes, nothing too fancy. This project is for a database management program. I am trying to have a messagebox show up if certain fields are left blank such as

But no matter where I put a message box,(on cancel button, on random button on binding navigator) it closes down the form and goes back to the main form. As far as I know it is the only form this happens on.

I have a solution made up of several projects. Everything is properly referenced, the solution builds and runs. Now, when "view class diagram" for this class, it doesn't show any fields. It shows "dmxProgram" as a property, but it doesn't show any of the non-property private fields. Therefore I can't add associations to my class diagram for those fields that do not appear.

I'm working on a project where I need a timeline similar to what you would see within a video editing program. Picture of my timeline - [URL]
So far, I've designed the timeline using nested pictureboxes. The main area of the timeline is a picturebox, and each track (marker and test) are children pictureboxes contained within the first. The marker dots are custom controls that are children of the marker picturebox. The idea will be for the slider to control zooming of the information in the timeline and the scrollbar to control panning of the timeline. Live data will be added to the timeline. This live data will include the marker dots and painting on the bitmap contained within the test picturebox.
I've got portions of the timeline functioning, but I'm stuck on how I should go about panning and zooming. I would like the timeline to update every second and advance the blue bar by 1 pixel every second. The problem starts when the blue line reaches the end of the timeline. Once the blue line reaches the end, I want everything on the timeline to start scrolling off the left side. What would be the best way to go about doing this and still be able to maintain the data written to the timeline? This could be a lot of data if the program runs for several hours.

I am a bit stuck with coding my save button and combobox.My entire form is ready, database is linked.All fields from DB are linked to their textboxes on the form.But i just ran into a big wall which i cant seem to break down.My save button, which is used to save the content from all the textboxes on the form to the access database refuses to work.The other this is, i want to use a combobox on my form to view the already saved entries in the access database.I think a combobox works for that, but i am not exactly sure how to pull that one off.

I'm trying to pull all records and fields from a MS Access table. My fields are: numOne, operator, numTwo and result. I'd like to display those fields in a listbox as the following output: 1(numOne) +-/*(operator) 2(numTwo) = 3(result) or simply 1 + 2 = 3. I was able to get some coding going. The problem that I have is that I'm not finding a way to add the fields on the same line, since I can find the right syntax to have all fields added together.

I have been tasked with writing a program for our yearly reviews. We want all of the information gathered in the form to be submitted to an access database. I have created the form and the database. I can send info to the database but it is put on a new line everytime it is submitted. I would like to check the first column of the table to see if the user login is already there. If it is there I would like to update the information. If it is not there I would like to create a new row. I would like to update some fields in access using visual basic(2005).
I established the connection with the DB(access 2000) and when I run the program I edit the fields on DataGridView.
Then I click on the update button and when I access again my DB I don't see any changes... :s
Code from my updateButton:

I dont have any problem with the conection to the DB and when I run the program I see all the fields from the DB(it has 2 fields).

I have VS 2008 and am working in VB.Net forms.I have a webbrowser control where I am trying to control input fields that are dynamically created. If a text field has proper handles such as id and name tags there aren't any problems.For example, I am trying to work with twitter for posts. I know twitter has an API but I want to work with many similar systems and want to avoid the API as its case specific and I want to scale things within the VB.Net form. The login fields for twitter are easily handled, however
the posting field once your logged in is just a text area with a class. There is a tagname but I have been unable to post using the tagname element.
