View 1 RepliesI'm working with VB 2008 and I have a problem when using multiple listbox. For instance, I have 3 listboxs (StudentID, Surname, GivenName) and all of them are related to each other. I would like to allow users to remove a specific item by typing StudentID. Then StudentID, and two related data Surname and GivenName will be deleted also.

Ok i have a list box with a few items, What i want for this example is to click a button and it will start on the first item and do: MsgBox ("this is item blah blah blah") then after that it will go to the next item and do the same and then the next and so on untill all have been done. The "blah blah" should be the item so if item was to say "hello" then the msgbox would say "this item is hello" I know this would be a lot of msgboxes to close, like if 50 items then thats 50 msgboxes to close, this is just for the example.
Question 2. Ok this is where ive tryed to learn but find it really hard (multithreading) Im wanting all to be multithreaded so all work at the same time, ive tryed a few times but the only way i see it is having a **** load of subs, like if i want it to use 10 threads then ill have to add the same code 10 times or somet, im not sure.
i have attempted all this and failed big time as my way was to get the first item and use that then remove it from the listbox BUT... with it being quite fast the 2nd 1 and 3rd 1 used the same item befor it was removed and to be honest i dont really want them removed. so my attempts took like 2-3 days that was a waste of time really. I Know this is a lot to ask but im in real need of it and these 2 things have driven me half mad.
I need to constantly display large amounts of colored text in WPF or Silverlight, and I need the user to percieve it as showing up instantly.
Currently I'm doing this using a canvas and textblocks, one textblock per 80-character line, with multiple runs to a textblock to handle the different colors. There can often be 20+ runs to a line.
In a 45x80 grid of text, this gets a framerate of about 12 in Silverlight, which is sluggish. Oddly enough, it's even slower in WPF... I can only speculate that this has something to do with my dev machine's lousy video card. Maybe it's trying to hardware accelerate and actually slowing down because of it?

i want the following: there are four items in my listbox: Rood, Groen, Geel, Blauw (these are dutch for red, green, yellow, blue). and when i click one of these, the button (Kleurknop1) needs to get the right colour. but when i click it now, it just keeps getting green, no matter which one i click.

I have the move buttons in an update panel and generate a report on a button click. I have this working fine. What I need to do now is color the items red or blue based on a third value from the datareader. Then add buttons to move all red >> / << or all blue >> / << Unfortunately, I can't post the code. The reason I am looking for a query way to do this is because I will not know what the second dimension value will be.
I'm currently trying to make a vocabulary/flash-card program so I want an array that can store multiple values per item. That way I can shuffle the "cards" (array items) while keeping the word, definition, and part of speech on the same "card". So if I where to access the array I would want to be able to do something like this:

And then if I where to re-arrange them the properties would remain together but just in a different spot of the array.I can get really close to this using an Item Structure and declaring the variable name with () but the problem is I have to include a number with () and I need to be able to add infinite values to the array, I can't have a set number.Also I would prefer to make it like an ArrayList as it has .Add, .RemoveAt, .Insert etc. In normal Arrays there's no easy way to add, you have to resize and stuff.
Anyways here's close to what I want, but I can't have a set amount and I'd prefer the ArrayList structure so I can just have like Array.Add and then have a Item added onto the end with 3 variables on it. The only thing is that with .Add you usually put something in paranthesis after it to denote the value to add, but if I have 3 possible values then I would have to have parameters for it or something, like .Add(Word, Definition).

I have a listbox with two columns. Each listbox item contains a horizontal stacked panel which in turn contains textblocks.
The listbox is empty, with each listbox item being added by the end-user through a couple of textboxes placed elsewhere. The first column accepts strings, and the second column accepts only percentages.

I would like to be able to check every time the above event is fired that the column of percentages does not exceed 100%. I have a couple of labels below the listbox itself where I would like to show the running total and the remainder.
My questions are:
1) How can I loop through the second column of percentages to show the running total and remainder?
2) Is there something more suitable than a ListBox that could make this easier?

View 3 RepliesWhen I used to use Farpoint controls (w/VB6), there was an option on a listbox to set it to mulit-character search mode. It seems that VB.NET (at least 2005) doesn't have this capability. If I type a "G" and then an "A", it first jumps to the first item that starts with a "G" and then the first item with an "A". I want it to jump to the first item that starts with "GA." What is the easiest way to accomplish this functionality?

View 2 RepliesI have a list box that is bound to a table in a database. It produces a list of companies. The user will then come along and select multiple companies that they want to view information about, and then they hit a select button which I'll display the company information (e.g company name, company site, address e.t.c) in a gridview underneath. However the issue that I am having is that it only displays ONE of the multiple companies selected and its always the top one. How I get all the companies to be displayed in the gridview?
