I wrote a program that connected to a Microsoft Access 2000/2003 mdb file and accesses the data. It works fine, but I'm wondering if there is a way to connect to Access 2007? If I change my connection string, will my program work with access 2007 or is it more complicated then that? And if it will work, can someone provide an example of an Access 2007 database?

We have currently upgraded our development machines to Windows 7 and Office 2007. We have a vb 2008 app that references 2003 Office components to use for mail-merging to word.We loaded up our app in the vb environment today and were instantly greeted with missing components/functions which are related to the 2003 Office components. We can update these to use the Office 2007 components/functions instead, however we are unsure whether after doing this our vb app will work with machines only with Office 2003 on. can machines with Office 2003 on work with our vb app that references Office 2007 components?

Nos, i've got .NET 4 installed, and i've added the system.tsr and mscorlib.dll files as reference in, say, Excel 2007 (see screenshot).However, when i try to make a thread with anything as basic as "Dim Thread1 As System.Threading.Thread", i get a user-defined type not found error.Indeed, when i use the object browser to see what's in the System file, theres nothing remotely linked to any Threading, and in the mscorlib file, nothing under "Threading" either, just a few Thread related functions, but nothing defining a data type

My problem is that when I go to Project tab -> Add reference -> COM tab, there should have been "Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library" on the list, but for some reason It's not on the list. Then I googled, and found out that the location of "DAO360.DLL" is "Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedDAO". View 5 RepliesI am using VB 2008, then I noticed that with the Provider.Oledb.12.ACE = database.accdb whatever connection string uses the bin/debug/database.accdb file when I connect my program with a database. Suddenly, a database with the same name appeared on the lets say "WindowsApplication1" folder. Then whenever I try to debug/run, it throws an error saying that it was unable to copy the database from the "WindowsApplication1" folder to the debug folder even though VB 2008 reads through the database from the bin/debug folder. As a result, after I input values when I debug, it resets because VB 2008 copies the database from the "WindowsApplication1" folder.
