Nullable(Of Double) Property Turns Nothing Into 0.0?
Mar 5, 2009
I was under the impression that any time I set a Nullable(Of Something) to Nothing, it will take the value of Nothing.In a class, I have;
Private _something As Nullable(Of Double)
Public Property Something() As Nullable(Of Double)
Get
Return _something
End Get
[Code]...
In my page, using this class I set Something = Nothing, but as I step into the Set method, value = 0.0.Am I doing something wrong here? Or do I just not understand Nullable types yet?

If I add a WindowEvents_WindowActivated handler to my Visual Studio 2005 Macros EnvironmentEvents module, I get a weird side-effect: when I click from one window to another in Visual Studio, that click is treated as a double click.

I am creating a setup project for my VB application. Everything seems to look fine. However when I tell it to build the solution I get the following error:Property 'keycode' is non-nullable. I have never seen this before in other setup projects and I can't find any help from MS.

I tried to build my project but it has 1 build error
:Property 'Keycode' is non-nullable.
I double click it but it points nowhere. I'm really desperate. My project consists of Crystal Report. It had just been upgraded from version 8.5 to version 11. Is it possible that this is the source of error?

This function loops all properties of an object to create the updatequery to save te object to the DB.
We had to make some changes to it because of the introduction of nullable properties. If the property is nullable we would like to check the 'HasValue' property. This does works when it has a value. When the property has no value we get an 'Non-static method requires a target'-error at the CBool-line
An other way to check the 'HasValue'-prop of a property using reflection?
Private Function GetUpdateQuery(ByVal obj As Object, ByRef params As List(Of SqlParameter), Optional ByVal excl As String() = Nothing) As String
Dim sql As String = String.Empty

I have written a .Net 4.0 Winforms Numeric Editor control (which inherits from TextBox), and I have added a Value property that is a nullable decimal type, as follows:
Public Class NumericEditor
Inherits TextBox
Private _value As Decimal? = Nothing
[code]....
how to get around this exception, particularly when I'm databinding a number field to a number property, and there should be no string conversion happening. (To further complicate things, I'm using a similar technique for another control where I databind a DateTime field to a nullable DateTime property, and that control works just fine.)

i would like to be able to double click on a label for a text box and write a value into the .tag property and then change the color surrounding the label.for example.. if the user double click the default label..(which looks like the stardard label) then I would write a "1" to the tag property for that label, and at the same time, change the line color surrounding the label to red(maybe even changing the thinkness of the line).
when the user would double click the label again.. I was see that it was already selected and change the setting back to the default.

Another newbie question i am afraid, I have created a game of pontoon it generates the numbers into an array and the assigns the values to the labels. this all works great.however the bit that i am stuck on is creating a player turn as each label has a name lnlP1Card1 to lblP1Card5 for player 1 and lblP2Card1 -5 for player 2 etc. I tried to create a set of if statements that checked a counter and then if the counters value matched the if statement the players turn moved to the next player. sample
If pcount < 5 Then
Do
If pcount = 1 Then

I have a winforms application that uses a datagridview. When I access the EditedFormattedValue of a cell while it is in edit mode, sometimes, but not always, the whole cell turns black. Is this a feature of the datagridview, perhaps some sort of validation feature I need to turn off? Also, changing the background color doesn't remove the black background for me.

I'm trying to add a string to a listbox if there is none exact string existed inside, but it turns out a very weird error. Look at this.
On form_load, I have this:
AddHandler Server1.OnUserLoggedIn, AddressOf HandleUser
And then,
Public Sub HandleUser(ByVal username As String)
'Here, you handle adding the text to a text box.
Me.Invoke(New PrintMessageDelegate(AddressOf AddUser), username)
End Sub
[Code] .....
The output is when I connect the first client, it works fine. But, when I try to connect the second client, it prints out three times both the listbox1 item and the txtDisplay. It's like get caught in loop, but I have tried other kind of loops like for each and other string comparison too, still work that way.

I have a database app where on a button click, I export the current record to crystal report which in turns converts it to a PDF file. Upon application startup, I export one record into PDF just fine but when I move ahead to the next record and I click the export button, the new PDF file that was exported is now blank. If I restart the app, I can then export the one record again but any subsequent record will export to PDF as a blank PDF file.
To sum up:I can export one record once using the below code snippet but when I try it for a second time on another record, I get a blank PDF file (only the crystal report formatting is in the PDF).

I have a situation where I am handling both single & double mouse click events on a form. In both cases something has to be loaded, however when a double click occurs, I do not wish to execute the code attached to the single click event. Is there a way to intercept the mouse click's and check if double or single and then execute the right event appropriately?

I accidently wrote some code today that was like this[code]...
I immediately noticed the issue, but I had already hit the run button. It compiled successfully, I ran it through to the section and it threw an exception.
You can't do this in C#, it gives a compile error "cannot convert from 'int?' to 'int'".
Is there an 'Option Explicit' type switch that I can turn on to ensure that this sort of error does not occur again?

I have a htpc project that I am working on. The main program loads dll plugins which are basically other win forms. On each of these forms, including the main program, I use a picturebox (a double buffered picturebox) for the background image and then draw everything on it by hand. Whenever I load the form from the dll and show it, I get a weird flicker. It looks like it is the previously used double buffer. Is there any way to clear the background double buffer before the flicker? Or am I going in the wrong direction?
Here's a couple of videos of the problem:

I'm having some very weird issues with interfaces right now.
I have a very simple setup. In one of my class, I have a Property implementing a Property from an Interface.
In my class it's like:
Private _oForm As IForm
Public Property Form As IForm Implements IContainer.Form
Set(value As IForm)
[Code]...
I have like dozens of interfaces like this working throughout my project and I can't believe this simple one can't work!

I've asked this question before, and so have many before me, i have done extensive research on the topic and stil no help. Maybe this is some kind of secret info. shared only amongst top programmers. Bt how do you really, trully double buffer a form, aside from setting "Double Bufferd" to true, which doesn't work in most cases, I want to know how do companies lyk Microsoft and Symantec, prevent flashes on big applications such Word and Norton.
