How can I navigate my MS Access database using these buttons. I don't want to use .ADO instead I would like to use my own buttons with code (OLEDB).
I have a form which is built up with 3 text boxes and a datagridview. On the main form the textboxes are TxtPracName, TxtRegion and TxtPostcode which are populated with an onload event shown below;

Ok, I have some slight skills with VB but I am still a slight N00b when it comes to more advanced programing, I am currently working on a tabbed WebBrowser My tabs open just file and the new browser window also works but my navigation buttons do not I need some code that will transfer the buttons effect to the opend tab Ex. right now if I click "Back" it sends the first webbrowser back I want it to send the browser in the opened tab back insted.

View 4 RepliesI have 7 Windows forms.The order of the forms is defined within a configuration file.I want to place buttons on each form that will show the next available options.The Next button will move the next form in the list.The Back button will move to the previous form in the list. The Finish button will execute the final piece of code.The Cancel button will exit the application.If the user is on the first form, then there is no Back button.If the user is on the last form, then there is no Next button, but there is a Finish button.
Example 1:
Form1 - Next, Cancel
Form3 - Next, Back, Cancel[code]....
I am learning VB 2008 newly. I want to develop a students database. I have prepared all the required specifications. I have started using VB2008. I have created the initial form. I now want to navigate to the next form by clicking one of the buttons created. It shall go to the next form that displays students personal details.
I am not able to find how to create a new form that will navigate from the exissting initial main form.
I have a textbox and a button in form.when I fill textbox with a website address/ url and button clicked, automatically open a web browser such as firefox or internet explorer and navigate to this website.

Basically, I have created a search facility which is housed inside the navigation control on every page. My predecessor set every single page up enclosed in a form for postbacks.
I need these postbacks to continue working however I need the search when submitted to post to go to a separate page and post the data. I tried various methods such as "postbackURL" on the ImageButton but it didn't do anything.

I have two questions concerning navigation in a 'mutlipage' control embedded in a form layout in Excel:
(1) I would like to be able to automatically move from page_1 to page_2 through a closeout button click command on page_1 (i.e. when actions are complete on page 1, page 2 will open without needing to click on the tab). Is this achievable ?
(2) secondly, While realising it is a simple step to set up navigation to another Excel workbook, is it conveniently possible (from a button command in the multipage) to open another directory, e.g. MMC console
My VB application is behaving strangley. I have form with fairly large number of controls. I am using case against radio buttons. after curtain number of buttons, it stops responding to more radio buttons.
Then I tried to split controls in to 2 form but now my form.showdialog() too now working properly. It takes new from names but show the old form when running.
Just wondering if i might hit a snag in my program. Ive got 10+ users using the same files, via a Oledb to put info into an excel spreadsheet. If 2 or more people save there file at the same time will the program go into read only on one person. Normally one 3 will use the file at one time. I know Sql itself would be better to use. best way i can describe it, normally using excel if you manage to open the same file twice one opens as normal but the other opens as a Read only file, will the same thing happen if im using Oledb connections?
View 2 RepliesI have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?
View 5 RepliesIs there a better way to make a form with multiple buttons opening different things than having a form that has lots group boxes for each tab. So in the begining each box will be invisible and when you click the button the corresponding group box will become visible. Is there any other way?It will be like a background image and it'll have buttons that will mask it with invisible buttons. when the button is clicked it will open the corresponding group box.

One of our users cannot see two buttons on a form, that everybody else can see. I'm not sure if the buttons are not there or the window is smaller than it should be. The size of this window is fixed, so it cannot be adjusted manually. (it is like a pop-up window infront of the main window). Our application is used by employees of our company all over the world. So they all have windows xp in different languages and their regional settings differ. But I can't see how that would make a difference.
