Output Each Line Of Textbox To A Separate String Or Label
Oct 14, 2009
I need to out each line of text to a seperate textbox. or label. Im not sure about a string. Can a string hold a value like, "192.168.1.1 2302"? If so, then how would i output it to a string. If not, textbox or label please. Please keep it simple as possible, since I will probably be needing to repeat this process 500 times, like, a different string for each line, i will have a lot of lines. Dont care about the textbox limit, as long as all the lines are outputted to each textbox.[code]
I'm using Visual Basic Express 2010. I have the prompt, the textbox and the calculate button. For the answer do I have to make a separate label for the answer in seconds and the actual response "That will take (separate label for answer) seconds" I made a click event button and assigned the following as global variables at the start of the form:
Const intSpeed As Integer = 1207 Const intTime As Integer = 3600
Then I made a click event for the button. I don't know what the formula is. Basically the user inputs a distance in the box, the calculate button tells you how long it will take for the vehicle to travel that distance in seconds.
Here's the interface: [URL]
Criteria: Are We There Yet? The Thrust SSC, a super fast vehicle tracked at 1207 Km per hour (750 mph) was clocked on the Black Rock desert back in 1977. Build an application that will tell people how many seconds it would take to get to their destination if they were driving the vehicle. Of course this doesn't include having to stop for stop signs, travel through school zones, or slow down for corners.
You need to include the following: 1.) Design the application with a prompt label and textbox to collect the distance from the user. 2.) A calculate time button 3.) The form must have the text property changed to read "Are we there yet?" 4.) The objects must have both the Text property and Name property changed to an appropriate value. 5.) A constant global variable should be used to represent speed of the vehicle. 6.) A constant global variable should be used for seconds (there are 3600 seconds in an hour) 8.) A local Dim variable declaration can be used within the button click to hold the distance value. 7.) Variables should be declared with the most appropriate data types. 8.) Include a "Text Changed" event to reset the time in seconds to a blank value when the user starts entering in a new distance. 9.) Comment code should be included
So what happens is. I have this JAVA Code which i am making out of a vb form to help me develop quicker in that. So, when i click "Button1" a formula enhances and gives an output "TEXT" Which i want to choose what lines it shows on my "MultiLine Textbox".
Basically, How do i make it so when i click a BUTTON a text is written in a MULTILINE-TEXTBOX which i get to choose which bits of the text goes on which line.
the example is: ("this goes on line 1") ("this goes on line 2") ect.
I have a program where a user puts a string into a textbox, and then character one goes into Textbox1, char2 goes into TB2, char3 goes into TB3, etc. I have a For loop that gets all of my textboxes that are used for this, and I have my for loop that is supposed to go through my string character by character.
how to redirect outputs from console to a window form text box,but the console application I'm using is always running real time, thus my .net application hangs until I close the program that is read real time. The code displays the application to a 2nd form with a textbox multi line. Until I close that my entire program hangs and the console application monitored runs.
How do I code it to:
1. Run real time without hanging the entire program.
2. the console app must run at all times. (figured how to hide/ and no window created for it)
Sub Console() Form2.Show() Dim myCon As New Process myCon.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False
OK, SO i have this program that outputs all the servers on a specific game. It outputs it to a text file. HOWEVER, There is a lot of annoying spaces. This is kind of hard to explain, so ill try to explain it. This is what The text file looks like.
I created a telephone number form where the user enters the telephone number in a text box as (nnn) nnn-nnnn. The first 3 digits in parenthesis are the ISD code, the next three are the area code and the last four are the local number. I need to separate out these three fields of the phone number and display in three separate text boxes labeled appropriately. Now, suppose the user enters the phone number in a text box as a continuous string of 10 digits, where the first three represent the ISD code, the next three represent the area code and the last four represent the local number. I'm lost as how to change this string into the form (nnn) nnn-nnnn. This is what I have
I have a multiline textbox that has wordwrap set to True I am assigning each line of the textbox to a string Lets say I typed this into the textbox without pressing enter and it just wordwrapped to the next line Visual Programming is fun it would assign "Visual Programming is fun" to the first string however, what i want it to do is assign "Visual Programming is" to the first string and "fun" to the second string.....now if i would have pressed enter after "is" then it would have done what I wanted it to do, but if i dont press enter and just let it word wrap it does not do what i want it to do...
I have a list of random numbers in my text file.I read it like this.
Dim FILE_NAME As String = "C: est.txt" Dim TextLine As String If System.IO.File.Exists(FILE_NAME) = True Then
[code]....
How can I separate that in to 2 listbox?In my ListBox1 I want add lines with starting number like this ( 0905, 0906, 0915, 0916, 0917, 0926, 0927 ) And in my ListBox2 is with numbers start with this ( 0909, 0910, 0912, 0918, 0919, 0920, 0921, 0928, 0929 )How can I compare lines by multiple choices like that?
What is the best way to keep my source code separate to the output from compilation? I can change the "Build output path", but I am still getting files created in the "obj" directory whenever I compile. I want to have a directory tree that only contains source code.David Streeter
I'm creating a new (or more) tab(s) with a multi-line textbox (filled) at runtime and some text is added. Each time I change/select a (new) tab it needs to search for a string and if found...blablabla.How do I get the control to search in?
I have strMyString that contains about 5000 lines of data. There are some lines of data that need removing if they contain a certain string, such as "http", "www.", ".com", "cat", "fish", etc. The whole line needs removing. Each line is separated by a vbNewLine or similar.
How can I do that? Does it need pasting into a rich textbox first before processing?
I've got a simple tool written in VB in VS 2010 that has a series of command buttons which run Windows command files and the output is sent to a Rich textbox object on the main form (the comand files take awhile to run so I wanted the output to show up in the RTB as it was produced to show progress). All worked well until I made an update to the tool so that the series of buttons are no longer hard-coded, but created dynamically from information in the app.config file. To do this, I use a button
I have a WinForms app with a multi-line textbox. This displays and retains (after loading from the DB) line break characters fine. However if I assign the TextBox.Text value to a string variable and then re-assign the variable back to the TextBox.Text property, the line break characters are lost and replaced with a square character (can't past them here as they just paste as a line break!)
I have a textbox and I only want people to be able to type in the word "ALL" and the numbers 1-6. How do I go about that? I got the number part but do I have to make a separate line for each letter in the alphabet that isn't "A" or "L"?
Private Sub monthTextBox_KeyPress(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.KeyPressEventArgs) Handles monthTextBox.KeyPress 'If (e.KeyChar <= "1" OrElse e.KeyChar <= "6") Then _ 'AndAlso e.KeyChar = "ALL" Then 'e.Handled = True [Code] .....
This is what I'm trying to accomplish. When the user enters 4 words into a textbox such as "hello my beautiful girl". I want it to display it into a label and I want each separate word to display into a different line.
I am trying to read in a TextBox line by line and take the first 7 characters of each line and output everything in another TextBox.This is what I have so far.
Dim line, lines() As String lines = TextBox1.Text.Split(Environment.NewLine) Dim i As Integer = 0
This is a homework assignment, but I can not figure out why my output has an error. It will work when I remove the last intCounter and put it into a separate label. So I am guessing that it has something to do with having multiple variables in the output, but i do not understand why.The error I get is A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidCastException' occurred in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll
Bandion Dim strCustomers(10) As String Dim intCounter As Integer = 1
Lets say I have a declared StringBuilder, and within I have the following data: 0001 0002 0003 0004 How would I separate each item to a different line so the output is:
The following output produces a string with no closing xml tag. m_rFlight.Layout = m_rFlight.Layout + "<G3Grid:Spots>" + Me.gvwSpots.LayoutToString() + "</G3Grid:Spots>"
