Label Output Not Working?
Aug 9, 2010This is a homework assignment, but I can not figure out why my output has an error.It will work when I remove the last intCounter and put it into a separate label. So I am guessing that it has something to do with having multiple variables in the output, but i do not understand why.The error I get is A first chance exception of type 'System.InvalidCastException' occurred in Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll

How To Output Two Listview Items To A Single Label
Jan 5, 2011I have a listview with three columns: Employee ID, Firstname and Lastname. When the user selects a row in the listview, I would like to have the Firstname and Lastname for the selection chosen to be output to a label. I know how to select a single item from the listview and output it as text. How do I output two items from the listview to a single label? Firstname listview item is: EmployeeListViewSelectedItem(0).SubItems(1) and Lastname is SubItem(2)

Jan 29, 2010I am using VS2008 and I have a form which has a datagridview. This is for an invoice where I already have the user select the customer from a details view and want to have the items in the datagridview change based on what the customer selected. Then when the item is selected I want to have the price change accordingly.
So far I have the customer selction as well as the item combobox(not limited to cust items yet) appear, but I cannot figure out how to get the join of the 2 items (cust+item as the price varies from cust to cust) to change the price. Question is, is it possible to do this in the same datagridview, or should i try to just break this down some other way?
Output Each Line Of Textbox To A Separate String Or Label
Oct 14, 2009I need to out each line of text to a seperate textbox. or label. Im not sure about a string. Can a string hold a value like, "192.168.1.1 2302"? If so, then how would i output it to a string. If not, textbox or label please. Please keep it simple as possible, since I will probably be needing to repeat this process 500 times, like, a different string for each line, i will have a lot of lines. Dont care about the textbox limit, as long as all the lines are outputted to each textbox.[code]

Filtering Output In A Datagridview VB 2008?
Aug 15, 2011I am running a stored procedure and presenting the data back to users in a simple datagridview. I'm unable to figure out a way to filter my data through the SQL side, so I wanted to see if I could filter data through the datagridview. Basically my sql query returns back values of "activity" that are either added or deleted, and I only want to present data back to users that are "added.' Is there a way to do this by filtering the contents of the datagridview?This is what I have in my codebehind for the page for both the SQL connection string, and the stored procedure. I'm assuming that this would be where I would filter the information.

VS 2010 - DataGridView Output Not Showing?
Sep 7, 2011For a class project I'm supposed to write a program that requests a team as input and displays the players from that team in the first column. The players should be sorted alphabetically by their last name, and if they have the same name they should be sorted by first name accordingly. My program compiles and I'm fairly certain that I've done most of it correctly. The second column should be filled with the batting average of the corresponding player from the left column.
My problems are as follows:
1) I can't get the DGV output to show correctly, it posts the player's name with the batting average of that player in the following downward cell.
2) I'm not sure how to further use the .Split method to separate the first and last name after already separating the name from team/at bats/hits, and can't find any info regarding this topic. Also, I can't figure out how to sort in reverse, I've only seen the Ascending and Descending options so far for sorting.
3) Is the way I've figured the batting average the most efficient/correct way, or is there another better way?

Feb 4, 2007I have been using vb6 for a while, I am following a tutorial by MS to develop a basic application and a simple task cannot be completed for whatever reasons! The tutorial asks to drag the label object from the toolbox and drop in the tab control container. Then, go to the label size property and adjust the size to some different dimansion. Basic stuff, right? It won't let me do it! After I enter the new dimensions (which by the way are not large or very small), the label size (both width and height) resets back to its original dimensions! I have the vb.net sp1 installed.
