I am having trouble with a mySQL query with the .NET connector. When I create the query, it automatically creates my parameters as objects. I usually change the type to the correct type, which in this case is Date, but I get different results passing in the parameter as a date.When I do "Preview Query" as an object, I get the correct results, but bad results as a Date. I would just leave them as objects, but it errors out when I try to pass a date in.Here's the part of my query that I'm having trouble with:
(Tickets.Resolved >= str_to_date(@startDate, '%m/%d/%Y')) AND (Tickets.Resolved <= str_to_date(@endDate, '%m/%d/%Y')) AND (Tickets.Status = 'resolved' OR Tickets.Status = 'rejected')
I am not sure if this should be in the SQL or vb.net section.But, Basically I have a vb.net application from where I insert a datetime field into the SQL Server Database. Now for some reason the SQL server field(which is datetime) will not display AM/PM, I have referred this link where my code looks like this:
Dim dateToDisplay As DateTime = DateTime.Now dsNewRow.Item("date_created") = dateToDisplay.ToString("MM.dd.yyyy hh:mm:ss tt")
I tried stepping into the code by debugging and it seems to be inserting the PM but is not displayed in the table QuotedateToDisplay#8/12/2011 6:01:06 PM#Date
i have datagrid bind to datatime that has one coloumn datetimeI want that user press space bar inside datagrid cell and i want insert current datetimei try so
If e.KeyCode = Keys.Space Then dgrdVisite.Item(dgrdVisite.CurrentRowIndex, 4) = DBNull.Value dgrdVisite.Item(dgrdVisite.CurrentRowIndex, 4) = Now.Date.ToShortDateString
I use VB .NET 2002 (academic version) I have created an MS Access database to be populated with vaules extracted from dBase files. Some numerical values can be null - ie where no data was recorded in the dBase file. Relevant field properties in MS Access mdb table are set to "Not Required" as follows - dt0 is the name in code of the Access table "AllData":
With dt0.Columns .Append("Date", DataTypeEnum.adDate)
colTest.Name = "Ch1Deg"
[CODE]...
Using an INSERT INTO command I can send a null value to the field:
My problem is how to pass a variable which sometimes takes the value System.DBNull.
If I use SQLMdb = "INSERT INTO [AllData]" " ([Date],[Ch1Deg])" & _ " VALUES ('" & dDate1 & "','" & dDeg & "')
Then when dDeg is numeric then there is no problem and the table is populated. When data is missing and dDeg takes the value System.DBNull then it's a no go! The error message is "Data type mismatch in criteria expression."
Is there a way round this with VB .NET 2002 or do I need to upgrade to a later version which has nullable data types, eg nullable integers and doubles etc?
i has one problem in which i can enter some of a data to the database.Ho can i code this things..i used Insert and update query....the value is type double,integer...and also string.....
I am currently working with a gridviews in asp.net(vb). I have it where I am able to pass information from gridview1 to gridview2 on the next page. However, what I need to do now is pass a variable from a column in gridview2 to the header of that page. i.e. in Gridview2 we have a column and all results are the same, the column header is StoreName and all the data for column is Sears. I know how to make the entire column invisible, but at the top of the page I need a sentence that looks like this: Store Information for Sears I am having trouble with what the code would look like for that line, all the thing I have tried have resulting in using a variable before it is declared. I need this line to be dynamic as the results will not always be for Sears.
I'm trying to match a certain DateTime value with the current system DateTime. I have a timer and a label on a form. Timer interval is set to 1000. When the form loads, the timer starts ticking. As soon as the current DateTime matches the value of the variable, it shows a message in the label. When I'm writing the following code, the values don't match even if the current system DateTime is equal to the variable. Label1 isn't showing 'Times Matched':[code]The default format of 'Now' is the same as I have stored in dtmVar variable. So there's no question of format mismatch. Does that mean 'Now' is not actually a DateTime property? Provided, my O.S. is Windows Vista Ultimate and all date/time settings are set to default.

datetime1 and datetime2now two fields are have data ( date )in table recordi want to update only datetime2 is an emptyi am using visual basic 2010 ( visual studio 2010
I try to compare Datetime.Now with a Datetime variable I set, using the Datetime.CompareTo() method. I use a timer to compare these every second and display the result, but as the current time approaches the time I set, the result changes from 1 to -1, but never 0, which means these two are never equal. I'm suspecting the Datetime structure contains milliseconds?
Assume the following program is started at 1:59:01 AM on 3/13/2011 in the United States. The first time Timer1 ticks what will be the value of the TimeSpan (ts)?
Public Class Form1 Private Sub Timer1_Tick(sender As System.Object, _ e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick
I'm trying to add the date and time of Today into a Sql-database-field that has the datetype datetime.

the msgbox gives me the following result: 29/01/2011 18:49:21 my sqlException gives me the following error: 102 - Incorrect syntax near '18'. Is it better that i set the datatype to char in my sql database? It's maybe a bit easier? When I do that, can I calculate with these date?
[code] "The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value.The statement has been terminated." [code]
im trying to write to an sql database. im inserting an image, as well as some other information. I am using the following code which works fine, as long as i do not add an extra column/variable "LOCATION" in to the mix and leave "
commented out. *this is undesireable as im trying to add extra criteria to be saved like LOCATION.
Try Dim st As New FileStream("\serverfolder1storage" & "pdftemplate.jpg", FileMode.Open, FileAccess.Read) Dim mbr As BinaryReader = New BinaryReader(st) Dim buffer(st.Length) As Byte
[code]....
i am trying to store the location e.g "c:file1.jpg" in the sql db. Can anyone reccomend a solution to this using OLEDB? ideally i need to add approx 4 more variables. e,g
Im getting an error with my insert statment "Syntax Error in INSERT INTO statement". I do not understand why. Im using global variables from form 1 and using them in form2 and trying to insert them from form2 into the database.
could someone tell me what i am doing wrong in this codeProtected Sub insert_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Insert.Click

I have a dataset named Dataset2.xsd
A tableadapter named tblTest2TableAdapter
A insert query names InsertTest2 with fields @f1, @f2 and ExecuteMode = Scalar
When I run the following code per MSDN [URL] the database does not get updated.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim testds As New DataSet2TableAdapters.tbltest2TableAdaptertestds.InsertTest2("One", "Dog") End Sub
im in the middle of doing sql queries i can search my data base usingGetDateFrom (Select, from, where) Me.nameTableAdapter.FillBy(namenDataSet.descip, Me.box1TextBox.Text,Me.box1TextBox.Text, Me.box2TextBox.Text, Me.box2TextBox.Text)i have this working fine im struggling with inderting data to my databse i have made the query ..
I have a csv file that I need to import into a sql table, this portion is working correctly. The code grabs the data, displays it in a datagridview and then imports it into the sql table. What I need to do is add an additional field that will automatically number itself by the amount of rows inserted at that perticaular moment. Let me explain a little clearer. The data I grab from the csv file is a day snapshot broken down to the hour. So lets use todays date 6/28/2010 will be broken down in the csv file like this:
I am developing vb.net windows application. I am trying to insert data with insert command.I am getting the insert data as long as the application is running. But when i close the application and reopen again the inserted data was not in the access database and i am getting no result. what is the problem, is it in code? i am using like
strsql=" Insert into table(col1,col2) values(val1,val2)" selectCommand as new oledb.command(strsql,strConn) selectCommand.ExecuteNonQuery()
Not inserting in the database but showing in application. how?
Public Sub cmdSave_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmdSave.Click Dim i As Integer
[Code].....
when i click the button, i get a error message saying "Syntax error in INSERT INTO statement". as far as i can tell, i have everything i need to insert a new row into the database, and i dont see why this problem is occuring.
item(0) is an autonumber key field, so that should make a new record by itself, and i have declared the input textboxes as the data() array
I'm using VB .NET & SQL Express 2005.I was hoping someone could help me figure this out, I'm trying to search a table between two dates. The table has a datetime column and I am using VS .NET 2005 DateTimePicker control. I'm not getting any errors, but I'm not getting any results either..
