Passing Group Of Selected Files To .net App?

The project I'm working on is essentially writing a new front end for the 7 Zip compression using 7Zip's downloadable SDK. My main issue that I'm working out now is trying to figure out how to integrate this into Windows Explorer.
I want to be able to select a group of files in a folder or Windows Explorer, right click them, then choose various options such as "Compress", "Compress and Test", etc. By clicking either of these options, I would like my VB.net app to open and perform the function associated with the specific menu entry. I imagine there are two parts to this, first how to get the options to show up in the right click menu, then how to pass the selected files to a VB.net application. I don't even know where to begin with this.

How do i checked that within a GroupBox 1 radio button has been selected? I want to provide the user with a message box telling them they have not made a selection from one of the 12 radiobuttons within the group box?

I have a WinForms application (VS 2008, .NET 3.5) that has a form with two different group boxes, and inside of each group box are different sets of radio buttons. When I run the application, the first group box automatically has the first radio button in it already selected, and the second group box does not have a radio button selected by default.
I have looked through all the properties of the radio buttons and the group boxes, and cannot figure out what the difference is between the two.I would like both group boxes to have all radio buttons unselected when the form is first opened.Also, I looked through the Designer.vb file for the form, and could not find anything unusual going on in there either.

I habe a little problem with my code. After 4 years, I must now expand and adapt an old program with new features for Windows 7.I use the great snippet from Chris to query the members of a active directory group.Now I want to use a selected item from the Listbox for a further search, but it doesn't work. I check the selction with a Textbox, but I get an error message:"Invalid Conversion from DirectoryEntry to String".[code]Until now I was able to read the selected items from the listbox in a Textbox or a query.

- Selected Row in Product Browse Form must be passed in this DataGridView.
- Selcted Row in Customer Browse Form must be passed in CustomerName and Customer Address Textbox.

I'm new to Visual Basic 2010, I programmed in VB a long time ago. getting back into it. I have a SQL 2008 database and I want to use Visual Basic 2010. what I want to do is bring up a form with a group of products for my company. Based on the users selection they will put a check mark next to the product and then submit the query/data filter/ selection.passing that information to another screen with the details of all the sales for that item.

rename a group of files in a directory - I have 100's of files in a directory that have a eight digit number with an underscore then a nine digit number.....

All I need is to delete the 12345678_ from all the files (numbers will be different in front of the underscore)

I currently have these group of files I want to rename:

I have a text box on my form where a I would enter a string of text which will replace the '1111' to whatever the string is in the text box field.
So for example, On my app, in the text box field, I would enter 2222, then when I click on button1, it will rename file1-1111.doc to file1-2222.doc, file2-1111.doc to file2-2222.doc, etc.....

how to sort the group of files in the directory using Hashtable by values?
i'll have more than 500 no of files in the below format:
prod_orders_XXX_<TimeStamp>.dat
XXX = symbol of the product and the length may varies.
<TimeStamp> = date and time
Multiple files for the same XXX are possible with different time stamps.
Here are some examples:
prod_orders_abc_20122001083000.dat
prod_orders_abc_20122001083111.dat
prod_orders_xyz_20122001093157.dat

I can't get to pass structure as argument through subs/functions in different files of single vbnet project like I use to in earlier MS basic versions.[code]File "mysetup.dat" is reachable and data is saved correctly what I can see with HxD.But read part seem's to not work as expected. I'm trying to match up a specific group name and see if it exists for the currently logged in user using Active Directory roles. If the Group Name exists for the Current User, I want that group name to be displayed in a drop down list. Example: If current user is in BIG Group, display BIG in drop down list.Problem: All I am getting is SIDs and I'm not able to get anything to match up to the group name and nothing will show up in the drop down list.I also get the following Error:Error: Object variable or WIth block variable not set.How do I fix this?? here is the code I am using:

So I have two ListBoxes. Listbox1 gathers files from a directory and I have an add button to add selected files from Listbox1 over to Listbox2.
Is there a way to manually sort these items? Maybe with an up down buttons?
The reason I'd like to sort/reorder is I'll have a process that will run those selected files and each file will have to produce another file unique to the filename.
A quick example would be process FILE1.txt and produce FILE1.pdf, etc.
Is there an easier way to accomplish the sort/reorder?

Here is currently how I'm populating my listbox1, before adding anything to listbox2, which is the ListBox I'd like to have sorted so way or another.

I'd like to start off by saying I'm extremely new to programing (3weeks) and I've come across a problem with my code. I've created a form that copies files from one folder to another. A user can either copy all files or selects files from a list box. Due to the size of the files the program freezes when performing the task. I have used backgroundworker component for copying all files and it works fine (no freeezing ). When I use the backgroundworker component for copying selected files I receive an error.

I have created tool which performs batch processing on files that are selected. The sub routine I have defined in the code, now I want to implement a way through which I can select actions that I want to perform and then perform the actions. For example the list has multiple actions, like Open, Close, SaveAs, Resize, Color Correct etc. I should be able to select what all I want to do on each file and then perform this actions. Someone suggested me using delegates for this, but I cant use that since all my functions have different parameters. Ither option I had is to use a nested IfElse or Switch to determine which action is selected and call function according to it, but thats to heavy I think, is there any optimized a better way to do this.???

I have a program that will rename files that the user selects. The problem is even though when you go through the whole process, and it works successfully, it doesn't rename every file.To all people new to vb, try not to code like this as it is about the worst way to use a loop. I was in a hurry last night so i took the easy way out [code]Again, bad coding practices throughout the whole project, but the program will probably only be used by my dad so it will do.Note that the form: "Name and Ext" will not be shown when the program is all finished. I only had that visible for now so that i can check to see that everything is executing correctly.

a dialogue box to have the user open a file they wish. I'm trying to open a specific file when a listbox item is selected and I have that down but I'm running into the problem of needing to have "" in the display which is impossible from what I can tell in the code. I just need to know what goes in the quotes which will open the file. Also lets say the text file was 'supportdoc1.rtf' and was located in a folder inside of the program folder called 'SupportDocuments' would the path be "SupportDocumentssupportdoc1.rtf" [Code]
