Picturebox - Clear The Background Double Buffer Before The Flicker

I have a htpc project that I am working on. The main program loads dlls which are basically other win forms. On each of these forms, including the main program, I use a picturebox (double buffered picturebox) for the background image and then draw everything on it by hand. Whenever I go from the main program to the dll, I get a weird flicker. It looks like it is the previously used double buffer. Is there any way to clear the background double buffer before the flicker?

I've asked this question before, and so have many before me, i have done extensive research on the topic and stil no help. Maybe this is some kind of secret info. shared only amongst top programmers. Bt how do you really, trully double buffer a form, aside from setting "Double Bufferd" to true, which doesn't work in most cases, I want to know how do companies lyk Microsoft and Symantec, prevent flashes on big applications such Word and Norton.

I was wondering if it someone could help me solve this problem. I have a full screen application with a panel in the center which is used to display different user controls and screens when the user uses the app.However, I have a rather large gradient image set as my form's background and it causes the panel to flicker every time controls are added. I find that when the background image is removed the flicker goes away. How can I keep the background image but eliminate the flicker? My form is already double buffered.

I have a 18kb 1024 x768 jpeg image that is set as background image of my form. The problem is the form now lags like crazy. How can I eliminate the lag?

I am making an application using VB.NET 2010 and I have set a background image which flickers every time I open any new Form or hit tab for jumping from textbox to textbox By pressing (tab) it only flickers once but always flicker when ever I close the form and open again. I have tried everything; background image set to, STRETCHED, CENTRE, ZOOM but still it's the same.

To Double Buffer or not to Double Buffer this is the Question!I have a form with Protected Overrides Sub OnPaint that sets forms background to a gradient fill ,on top of that is a transparent richtext box.
Ok. now here`s the problem ,If i enable forms double buffering the transparent Rtb doesn't flicker when forms resized. but the forms drop shadow does flicker! ,its a boarderless form using CS_DROPSHADOW to draw the drop shadow Now if i disable double buffering the forms drop shadow doesn`t flicker but the transparent Rtb does ,any one have a clue how to get both to work in harmony !

I have a need to double buffer a flowlayoutpanel. I have the form set to doublebuffered which is half the story but their is no property in the list to make the flowlayoutpanel do this (although MSDN states that it has this property) how i can set it to true for the panel?

I've been trying to get the double buffer function working in VB.NET GDI+ for a space invaders game using the following command.[code]But because I am using a separate draw routine attached to a class it doesn't seem to work:[code]The aliens draw correctly but the images are very stuttery and double buffering doesn't seem to work.

change my MDIClient's background image I've decided that painting over it is the best way to go (because of scaling). Problem is, when the form (and the MDIClient) get scaled/resized, there's massive flicker even with the ControlStyles and form double buffering.

Whenever I load the form from the dll and show it, I get a weird flicker. It looks like it is the previously used double buffer. Is there any way to clear the background double buffer before the flicker? Or am I going in the wrong direction?

Notice the black screen with the white lines on it or the flash of the desktop after I click "Movies." How do I get rid of that?

When the clear button is clicked on my interface I need my variables that are set as doubles to clear...I tried setting them to zero but that messed up my equations and caused more problems. Is there some method in double that clears them out or sets it back to nothing.here's the coding

My app has scrolling images in the background and a picturebox on top. The image in the picturebox has transparent parts. How can It so that the transparent parts show whatever is belo the picture box, not the form background? I have tried taking screenshots and positioning them as background but this just freezes the app.

I am trying to create a simply bouncy ball application in VB net; I am using a timer and the FillEllipse() method to try ad create a new circle at every tick of the timer.
Code:

The result? The form continously draws onto itself, without clearing the last circle. This means that you end up with a 'line' of spheres together.
To clarify:
X is well, the X-Coords
Y is Y- Y-Coords
X_Dir is an integer, it is added to every iteration of the loop so the next time the loop iterates, it'll be at a different location;
Y_Dir is the same but for the Y Coords;
CollisionDetect() Is empty. It is yet to be filled, it will handle the collision with the sides of the forms. W, H are width and height, respectively.

I have a problem on using mouse hoover and double click on image.I have a listview box. when user choose 1 item, he/she will be able to view it below the listview table. However, the image is small and they can't see it clearly. So I would like to make the image clearer by making it bigger when mouse hoover and double click. At the same time, when I manage to view this image, the listview table should be invisible.( as the image shows.This is my codes to show the image when user click item in listview:

How do you make the image in a picturebox vanish when you change an option? I have tried a few different ways that i have seen but none have worked. I have it set so when i change an option in a listbox it will change the picture and data in other controls, however one option in the listbox has no data to fill in those controls and so gets left blank. However when i click on that option right now the images that were in the picturebox before get left behind until i click on another option that has a picture. So how do i remove the picture from the box?

This is my code for retrieving pictures, it was working before but then i accidentally deleted the table and i created it again with the same name and same fields. and now whenever i open the form with the picture, there was a message box error. it says Buffer cannot be null. Parameter name: buffer I don't know what i did wrong.

I want the background of the the label to be transparent, so I set it's background prop to transparent and it's parent to the picturebox. I do this on form load, but for some reason the label entirely disappears once the form loads?

I have a form that contain an big image and an small image.The small image will be showed on top of the big image. Both images are in .gif format and the small image background is transparent.I set the picturebox's backcolor for small image to transparent, but I only get the backcolor of the form in stead of the big image.Is there anyway to see the big image at the transparent area of small image?
