Regex Expression For Validating Email Addresses To Accept An Apostrophe ' In The Email Name?
Jul 15, 2010A client for our company contains an apostrophe in their email name joe's@joe.com. I was advised that this is the correct and current email for the given client. Below is the Expression string I am using with Regex (which I copied from the internet somewhere) to validate email addresses. How can this expression be modified to allow/accept apostrohe's?

Jun 11, 2011I have created an application and I need to send emails to different addresses. I want to do this inside my application without automating email software like outlook etc. I have used CDO , and different activex like ostrosoft , chilkat etc .But is the same problem : Emails are sended correctly without error messages but :Some emails are received ( like in yahoo adresses), a lot of emails are marked as spam, and all the emails send to hotmail addresses are lost, not received. To send emails I'm using a regular domain, with smtp server, port, user name and password. And when I send emails from the same configuration on outlook express from the same computer, all the emails are received correctly.

Feb 14, 2010im trying to write a small app to save emails , it has two forms , one form for sending emails and a second form to edit the mail-list which is saved as a text file list.txt
the code works just fine if list.txt is populated with email addresses separated by commas but when i attempt to change this list in my second form and return to the previous form when i press send i get this error.
format exception was unhandled. The specified string is not in the form required for an e-mail address.

Oct 20, 2010I have a simple email.aspx page that has From:, To:, Subject:, and Body: text boxes. The send button is set to send the email using smtp through System.Net.Mail in ASP.NET 4.
What I'm really trying to do is set the To: address to automatically retrieve all of the email addresses stored in my SQL database table that my customers entered when they registered for updates from my websites, rather than me type each one in by hand. I am wanting it completely automated without any user interaction.
I have looked everywhere for weeks to try to get help and I can't seem to find anything describing what I am trying to do.

I am able to get the email addresses stored in the variable EmailAddressTo separated by a comma in between addresses. However, it only sends to the first email address. I selected two addresses but it only sent to the first address. How can I add multiple addresses using the To.Add method?

May 24, 2012Is there a way in VB.Net to "Ping" an email address to see if that email is a real one that does not give any errors?
If yes, can you show what the VB.Net coding looks like to implement this?
I plan to use this in an app that requires the Customer email and it would be nice to validate it as the call taker enters it into a form before saving the Customer details.

But this regular expression is greedy and is grabbing the entire string up to the last quote after "joe@company.net". I'm having a hard time putting together an expression that will group this string into the two groups I'm looking for: Name (in the quotes) and E-Mail (in the angle brackets).

I am able to run Batch/DOS, Python, Perl, or VBS - I have them all installed on the server. As long as they can be triggered from Scheduled task.

I've seen examples of when it gets the subnet and then iterates through from 0 to 255 but I'm struggling with this. Is there a way to make an IP address object (is this the right word?) that iterates the same way as an IP would e.g.goes from 192.168.1.255 then would go to 192.168.2.0.

Nov 24, 2011I've run into a bit of a problem using Async ping. Basically, I want to ping computers in the list before I run the next bit of my program. The computers who I can ping are added to a list and that is used in a background worker. Trouble is can't seem to work out how to wait until after pinging ALL computers in the list, either successful or timed-out. Is there something a long the lines of 'If Async Ping is running'?

Jun 9, 2012I have a class that uses My.Computer.Network.Ping to get a boolean value on whether a IP address or hostname is reachable.However, when I'm testing that class, I want to disable pinging so that during the test whenever I run the My.Computer.Network.Ping it will always return false or throw some kind of exception.
I have tried the following, but I still get a true returned (meaning, the attempts to disable ping didn't work)

Feb 9, 2010Ive got an app that holds a list of site we have, At each site there are a few devices. The idea is when they click on a site all the details for the site are loaded and then a second thread sits and pings each device to see if its live. Im trying to do this in a seperate thread so if they click another site while its still pinging them it doesn't wait before it switches site. This all seems to be workling fine except if you click through the sites quickly, when you do that it will eventually come up with
