Place Data In DataGridView From ComboBox Selection?

I have on my form a combobox, a datetimepicker, a button and a unbound datagridview. The datagrigview is fild with data like a yearcalender.So i have in first column all dates of januari, then a blanc column, then the dates of februari, then a blanc column and so on...This is wat the user will do :
select his name from the combobox, select a date from the datetimepicker and press the button.What i would like to happen then is this : Find in the datagridview the same date as the selected one and then place the selected name in the blanc cell next to that date.

I have a ticketing system that reads a MS 2003 MDB. I can easily fill the DataGrid view with all of the items on the data set How ever I need to be able to have agents filter the rows by login(key)
I have a large list
made this way
csrLogin.Add("james", "TomJim")
I select agents on the menu strip and the combo box populates all the names in that collection (combo box displays TomJim in this instance

How can i bind a comobox selection to a datagridview without writting code...
i Need to select an item from a combox and based on that item refresh the datagrdiview. I did something like that in Access but i don't know how to make it work in visual studio 2008.
once i select the datagridview itme that i want to edit i'd like to be able to update back to the database. I know i need to write code for this but at least i'll have the data refreshed on the datagridview.

how can I make program using vb 2005 that will dropdown the datagridview combobox and display to the datagridview textbox everytime the combobox selection change or when you choose the data.The mousemove is not perfect because when the dropdown combobox length more than the datagridview, the mousemove will not work even other features of datagridview.

I have a datagridview (datagridview1) on my form which onload displays all the records from the bindingsource (bindingsource1) via an sql connection to a table in sql server called "article".
I also have a combobox on the same form which displays the name column from the same "customer" table -
Me.ComboBox1.DataSource = customerTable
Me.ComboBox1.DisplayMember = "custname"
Me.ComboBox1.ValueMember = "custid"
I would like to enable my combobox to filter the datagridview via itsSelectedIndexChanged event . So if custname "xxxone" is selected in the combobox then the datagrid shows only the results for custname "xxxone".
So far I have worked out how to enable the combobox to move to the position in the datagridview depending on which custnameis selected-
Me.myBindingSource.Position = Me.ComboBox1.SelectedIndex
But this method still shows the other titles,it doesnt filter them out, it just points to the selected custname. I cannot find how to filter the datagridview so ONLY the selected custname is shown.
I will be changing the field names, I have used custname and custid just to describe what I am trying to do.

I have a form with a DataGridView and ComboBox, both of which are populated with data from an Excel spreadsheet, the source is unbound. My problem is in repopulating the DataGridView with data from another worksheet in the same Excel file when the user selects the corresponding value from the ComboBox. For example if they were to select January from the ComboBox then the DataGridView would load in and display the data contained on say Sheet2, selecting February would load Sheet 3 and so on. I am running Visual Studio 2008.

I have VS2005, Microsoft Access 2003
ComboA is binded to the Customerstbl and displays the CustomerNames. ComboB is Binded to the CustomerContactstbl for the selected customer above and displays all Contacts for that customer is a second cbobox.
I am having a hell of a time with this, When I select a customers name in ComboA, I want ComboB to automattically query the contacts in ComboB based on ComboA's selection. where do I create the query for getting the contacts for that customer?
In the Customer or Contacts tbl?
Is this something that would be better hard coding or is VS2005 that much improved that its ok to use these binding features?

Visual Basic 2010 Express: I have a form with a combobox that is populated with the names of locations from a datagrid which in turn was imported at run-time (Form_Load) from an Excel database. The Excel database (and the datagrid) also stores the information for addresses and phone numbers for their respective locations.
What I would like to do is have the phone number and address text boxes automatically be updated with the proper corresponding data when the user selects a location from the combobox. Whether the text boxes are updated from the datagrid or Excel database is not a concern; I'm mainly looking for whichever way is simpler.

NB: I'm using Visual Basic.NET?My form has 2 DataGridView controls. One of these is bound to a DataSet, the other isn't visible - at least not until the user selects a uniqueidentifier cell in the 1st grid.When the user makes this selection, the 2nd grid will become visible and display the row from another with the same id as the one selected in the 1st grid.So, basically, I want to dynamically display data in one grid based on user selection in another grid.My code looks like this so far...

So I have a datagridview being populated with data from a database.At this point a user may or may not selected (via mouse click / key press) one or more rows within the datagridview.I need to (upon selection) create a new dataset, datatable and add rows with the some data from the said datagridview.
For example, if a table had nothing but names, e.g.

Larry
Chris
Upon the user clicking, dragging a selection over Sean and Larry to add those names to a new dataset so I can pass it to another method for further processing.

I have a text box with some text inside it;
the text is long (say 100 chars);
the textbox can display about 20 chars.
The following code:
tbxTest.SelectionStart = 5
tbxTest.SelectionLength = 60
selects a part of the text and sets the cursor (blinking beam) at the and of the selection, in this case the first caracters of the selected text is out of the user sight because the textbox is too small to display the entire selection.
Is it possible to force the cursor to be at the beginning of the selection so the first part of the text is visible? (as if I had selected my text with the mouse dragging from the end back towards the beginning)

I'm having a problem with combo boxes. I usually use Java and it's been awhile since I used VB but I never remember having this much difficulty.My application is using an SDF file. From Data Sources, I drag the details on one of my Tables to my Form to get all of the fields. Three of them are comboboxes. Each of the three is an INT64 and each corresponds to a primary key in a different table. I click the tasks button on a combobox and for data source I select the appropriate table that has the data to go with the combobox, for display member I select the field that I want users to see, and for value member I select the primary key. Then I run a quick test and start the app, open the form, and add a new record. When I select a value from the combobox the selection won't validate because it doesn't think it's an INT64 like it should be. It seems to be using the display member as the actual value instead because if I change display member to the primary everything works great.

I currently have a form with two comboxes. The first cbo is being populated with a project number, which is being pulled from the first column of a spreadsheet. I now want the second cbo to read the first cbo and then find that project number on the spreadsheet; when it finds that project number, I then need it to copy data from the row the project number is on. I have converted to vb from vba. Below is the code I used in vba (which obviously does not work). I only need certain cells from the project row.

I need to do in other platforms but seem to be having some issues with VB .net 2008.I have a datagridview bound to an SQL table that has several comboboxes.the rowSource (is it called that still?) for each of the comboBoxes are SQL lookup tables that I've created and based on the the users selection in ComboBox1, comboBox2's datasource may change.What I want is, if the user picks "Dental" from ComboBox1, I want comboBox2 to load Dental plans (Which I have working, no problem here I think).And if they pick "medical" in ComboBox1, comboBox2 loads medical plans in comboBox2 dropDown list, which, again that part seems to be working.If in the first row in the DGV,the user selects "Dental" for comboBox1 and then a Dental plan in ComboBox2,on the next row, if the user inputs "Medical" in ComboBox1, the first rows ComboBox2's "Dental plan" info disappears.
The medical plan can still be selected and displayed in row 2's comboBox2 (so the changing of the datasource is working)If you then click anywhere in the first row, ComboBox2's dental plan appears again but Row2's combobox2 now no longer displays the medical plan.Becuase whatever value you choose, no matter if it's a medical or dental plan, the info gets saved in the DGV bound table, shouldn't it display the saved information from the DGV's source and not the shifting comboBoxes datasources?

I have this test form where I'm testing the idea, but ran into a snag. Now the main idea is to load all the data from a dataset into the one column of the datagridview. This works perfectly as shown in the image. Now there is something that I want to happen, but just can't get it right. when on the DataGridViewComboBox Column I also want to be able to type in my own data if the one I want is not available in the combobox.
Also if there are 50 values in my combobox and 2 of them are:
jacky, jacson
When I type jac, I want the combobox to only give me the options starting with "jac"
