View 19 RepliesI am trying to populate my combobox from Access, I decided to use a function in a separate module to connect, querry and return the result to my combobox for the sake of diminishing the number of lines, but I can't get it to work in .net.

I remember .eof method for my "While Not" loop but I can't seem to make it work. Basically the table in my DB consist of 2 columns, the first being ID (autonumbers) and the second are the records I want to access via my combobox, there is about 10 rows for now but it is subject to change.
I have a system that I need to connect to an access database. Once connected, I have a form that allows a new customer to be entered into text boxes. I need to then take the data in the text boxes and save them in the database table.On a similar note, I have another form, where the customer details can be updated. Basically, by searching for a Customer reference number in the database, the form is populated with the table data. Then I want a button that will update/overwrite any chages made.

Basically I have several tables in my database and I need to show their values in listboxes (essentially allowing menus to be edited by adding/removing items in the table)I can't figure out how to connect the database (according to my friends/classmates), and i can't figure out how to pull the information from the table.
Ultimately, it would be nice if someone could tell me how I can pull out the information into maybe an array? so that if i add 3 items into the table, then it will create 3 variables in the program and put the values from the table into those variables.

I'm coming to the conclusion that the things I want to do in a database are better done if I run a conversion code from Excel to Access, do mighty things in Access, then have the option of converting back to Excel to distribute elsewhere. I'm already familiar with using Access and the code I keep finding in threads almost always refers to .mdb files. Below is a conversion that does not seem to work (button2). I'm trying to do this through ADO with OleDb connections. If I can convert to Access much will make sense.

After doing some reading into this all i have seen is some threads on how to use Jet4.0 to link and grab the data but it is my understanding that Jet doesnt work with 64 bit OS.
Nonetheless I need to figure out a way to accomplish my end goal and make it as universal a solution as possible (ie. i do not want it to only run on 64 bit or 32 bit machines)
I created a very simple program that organizes my various document and opens them when the button is clicked inside the program with the process.start method. The problem is that when i take the executable file and move it to another machine or cd to run the program the process.start filepath is no longer valid.
