I have XML coming out of a DB with CDATA tags. When I use the SqlCommand's ExecuteXmlReader to populate an XmlReader, it seems to strip the CDATA tags from the XML. I need those tags to remain.
Dim df As New DataFunctions
Dim cmd As New SqlCommand
Dim conn As SqlConnection = df.GetConnObj
cmd.CommandText = "#########"
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
[Code] .....
I'm trying to analyze web pages for seo. I'm trying to create my own personal tool to extract all the keywords and tags from web pages (a little clearer).I already know how to extract or parse links and text from web pages. The issue is that I tried to implement title tags, body tags or keyword tags in general via using the following code:
Dim theElementCollection As HtmlElementCollection = WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("a") For Each curElement As HtmlElement In theElementCollection If curElement.GetAttribute("href").Contains("http://twitter.com/") Then
[code]....
Try to extract all the keywords from the title, body etc. for this page:[URL] and send it to separate textboxes (title keywords in textbox1, meta tags in textbox2 etc.).

I was just wondering how to extract or parse any particual tags (whichever I specify) from webpages. I know how to extract text and links from webpages, but I tried to use the same method from the following code for div tags, title tags etcetera and it doesn't seem to work:
This one copied from microsoft web site, is this command working...? Error like " Executive Reader Requires.......Transaction property of the command has not been initialized..."

I use ASP.net VB.net to write a XML file. In one of the element which is called "Description" i have to add a "<![CData[Class : Class Name
Price: 100,000.00".
Can i merge the values returned from a LINQ query (in the next example c.day) with CDATA like...
Dim Result = <items> <%= From c In db.News Select _
<day><%= c.day %></day>
%> </items>

I am planning to create a system for my case study wherein i can Add tags from images and search for it by "tags" such as photobucket. For example i open an image to my system, and it's file name was "WhiteHouse.jpg" and i added or tagged it as "Building". Once i search on my computer, and type the word/keyword "Building", the image "WhiteHouse.jpg" will be displayed on search results as i tagged it on my system.Is that possible guys? or i can only search by tags using my system/application? and not in the search command in my computer?If it is possible please tell me what to do. or if you have sample vb.net2008(windows Application) files it will be helpful. Or if you have sites related into it. pls send me those links, especially downloadable vb.net files w/ codes for further studying.
I am having an issue with both Adobe Reader and FoxIt Reader when trying to print a PDF document. Both issues are different but a solution to either one will allow me to fix my issue.The issue I am having with Adobe Reader when trying to print using the following code is that it will not print it to the network printer I specify but just the default printer.
Dim AdobeReader As New Process AdobeReader.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = False AdobeReader.StartInfo.Verb = "print"
I use a menustrip as the main navigation for my program. Currently I have separate code for the menustip on each page. Recently I found that I could create a form template using inheritance and include the menu strip on the template. The problem I run into is that when I open another form using the menu strip the original form is still open and my references to me.close are no longer active. Is there a way to close the form that the user is leaving?
I see many programs using a menu strip similar to the folowing: My grey menu style just looks ugly... I guess I should not use the image as background, because XP has other style menustrips, so it must be some sort of menu strip. How can I make a menustrip with that style?
I am adding items to a context menu strip from a list of items in a database when my form loads. This all works fine until I come across the issue of 'How do I react to the user clicking on one of these menu items?'
I am grabbing an HTMLElement from a browser object and then using getElementById to grab the element I want. When the element is grabbed into the HtmlElement object double quotes around attributes like becomes .It is removing the double quotes and backslash from the HTML available in the HtmlElement. Is there anyway to get the HTML element from Visual Basic .NET code and keep the true HTML formatting?
I am building a program that strips out certain keywords from a much larger file. I am using code that .paul. provided in a different post, but I can't get it to work correctly. Here is the code that I am using: [code] Basically, the first match will appear in textbox2, but no other matches appear after that. I put a breakpoint at the For Each loop and checked out the locals. I am showing 2,502 matches for the variable "match." I just now put another breakpoint in there and I can see that it is stepping, but nothing is recorded.In the archive is a file named debout.txt. This file should be used for the testing.
I need to write a program in VB 2008 express that takes an user entry from a textbox and strips out all the spaces, changes it to either all upper case or all lower case then checks to see if it is a palindrome. I must also include a loop structure and a decision structure. I have seen bits and pieces of code but I do not really know how to put them together. Basically I need it from the button click to the end. ?
how would I accomplish saving a large piece of data, using the Stream Reader for the Line-by-Line, while keeping the carriage return line feeds in there?
So I'm passing a masked telephone number in the form of (999)999-9999 to a Function that 'strips' the numbers out and puts them into a string that I then use in an Update SQL statement. So far I have the code below that of course doesn't do anything:
Function StripPhone(ByVal sPhone as String) as String Dim i as Integer Dim sStripped as String
webbrowser1.document.body.outerhtml This transforms all the tags into uppercase and removes quotations. I need to make it valid xhtml does anyone know away to get the outerhtml to not format or maybe a way to easily change the output to proper xhtml.
